MAC Pearl Iced Delights Eye Bag ($45.00) includes Taupeless (lavender pink), Celestial Black (rich blue-black with red pearl), and Purple Dash (purple), along with a full-sized Zoom Fast Black Lash Mascara and 275SE brush. There are three different Eye Bags and all three contain both the mascara and special edition brush, but the eyeshadow duo and eyeliner vary. MAC Ice Parade launches on October 27th, 2011 in-stores.
- Taupeless is an icy pink with subtle cool undertones and silver sparkle. It has a lustre finish, which means it is prone to fall out. The pigmentation is so-so with some underlying sheerness. This particular shade is a repromote. It is similar to MAC Seedy Pearl, which has a smoother finish.
- Celestial Black is a burgundy-tinted black with red shimmer. It has a velvet finish. It’s dry, stiff, and tends to work better when used with a fluffy brush (like the 222). The color payoff is underwhelming. MAC Beauty Marked isn’t as black-based.
- Purple Dash is a purple-plum with fuchsia-purple shimmer. It’s creamier than the limited edition Technakohls from the holiday colour collection. This is part of the permanent range. It is similar to Make Up For Ever #4L.
This kit would be a skip for me, because the fall out from Taupeless combined with the stiffness of Celestial Black make it less than appealing at $45. The mascara and special edition 275 are nice additions but likely not the reason you were interested in it! I think some will love the bag, while others will hate it. It’s very soft and squishy, so it feels cheap to me, though it is lined and feels durable enough.

Thanks for all the swatches and reviews for this collection! So helpful:) I was just wondering also will you be reviewing all 3 of the face kits as well? I know in the promo info 2 are listed but I’ve heard that only there are 3 all together (2 at mac stores and 1 at mac counters). Thanks:)

I’m not impressed with anything I’ve seen swatched from the Holiday Collection thus far. I have hopes for some of the other things from Ice Parade. I hope those dreams aren’t crushed 🙂
I’m so over MAC lately, not interested at all because they just keep pushing out mediocrity. And the bag looks cheap.
The holiday set have been suffering since after Royal Assests 2007.
I’m so glad you have reviewed this stuff. I would have bought all of it since I love the cool color palettes and I feel like I’ve not seen silvers in a long time. It is such a disappointment to me now.
But geez, one comment. What is up with that ugly circle on the bag? I mean really, just a silver pouch would have been fine but that circle thing really makes it tacky!
So disappointed in this collection; compared with how lovely the Tartan Tales collection was last year, this is such a let down.
Love the color of the shadows and eyepencil, but the bag reminds me of jiffy pop popcorn.

Wow, I’ve officially lost interest in MAC. I’ve just been reading the latest reviews of this collection and I shake my head. Apart from maybe still purchasing their blacktrack fluidline, brushes and permanent paintpots, I really can’t see myself buying any more of their stuff. And most especially not their LE items.

Is it just me, or do the brushes in these sets look particularly cheaply made this year? I’m so disappointed in the holiday stuff this year, this will be a pass for me.

It’s such a shame that both eyeshadows are of so poor pigmentation and with fall out problem!

It is a shame about the shadows because this is the one I was eyeing. Your swatches still makes it look amazing so maybe I will make the treck to the store and have a little play 🙂
dI dont like eyeshadows that are not pigmented… Waste of money…MAC should not allow such mistakes.
