Guerlain Gigi (68) Rouge G Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches

Guerlain Gigi Rouge G Lipstick
Guerlain Gigi Rouge G Lipstick

Guerlain Gigi (68) Rouge G Lipstick ($46.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a new-for-fall shade of neon fuchsia pink with a slightly glossy sheen but nearly imperceptible shimmer. This is MEGA-WATT bright, I swear! Despite its brightness, it’s actually a little less opaque than the majority of Rouge G lipsticks, which is odd. It does remind me of MAC Full Fuchsia Lipstick, which is a PRO shade, but it’s a lot frostier (and thus more reflective). Gigi seems to have less blue in its base, too, and this would make it a touch more flattering on warmer skin tones than Full Fuchsia. I am definitely surprised to see such a bright shade launched by Guerlain, and even more since it’s part of their fall launch!

Summer feelings *-*

But I would like to see something of the Givenchy Blooming Collection, like the Le Vernis Blooming Pink and the lipsticks (blooming peach and blooming abricot)

I swatched this and I really liked it! My lips are more pigmented so colours always look darker on me than you. Like you said not sure I would spent so much on a lipstick I wouldn’t get that much wear out of.

I Love It…it looks great on. The price is insane….Lol…are your pictures taken with flash? Christine will you be reviewing or have reviewed Make Up For Ever Artist Intense Lipsticks? Thanks.

WOW, such an electric look! You should`ve worn it out just to see the looks you`d yet =D. It`s a beautiful color but not for me! I was also wondering Christine, do you have the Rouge G in #10 Gaia? Thanks so much!

my retinas are still ringing, gee this is a BRIGHT shade ! But I love it. I’m all about pinks, especially this kind of pink. Plus I love the Guerlain Rouge G, such a nice texture and a lovely packaging. I might just go to town and see if I can get it !!

It looks so beautiful. I love colors like that so bright and pretty. <3

But I have no idea how to wear them…How would you wear a color so bright?

I bought this as soon as it was released. When I wore it the first time, I thought “Now this is an HG hot pink!” Love it! Now I have to get Gwen too.

It looks gooooorgeous with your skin tone!! I don’t think I can wear that bright pink, I’m olive, and for some reason, anything bright just looks odd on me.

The colour does differ according to skin tone. I am Chinese and pretty fair with naturally pigmented lips and this shade actually looks red on me when I first apply. If I use Gigi by itself, it fades to fuschia in under an hour but if paired with a red lip gloss, it’s actually the best blue red I’ve found. It’s a very pretty red that brightens my face and doesn’t make me look like a clown. It’s apparently been quite popular in Asia as my local makeup counter has sold out of it.

I’ve found that while this blog is a good platform for me to find new colours on, Christine’s darker skin tone means that colours that generally look beautiful on her look vampish on me. Case in point: Scarlett Empress. I was soooo in love with that colour after seeing how it looked on her but after googling the colour, I realised that it was that awful too-dark red I’d immediately put out of my mind when the Shanghai Express collection came out.

So, the point of this post is that you should go down to your makeup counter and try this colour on before leaving it. I do apologise if this post was long and rambling but I really do adore this shade and just had to endorse it.

This is my latest Guerlain purchase and the color is gorgeous! On my lips the shade sort of reminds me of Chanel Rouge Coco in Cambon, but a tad lighter and softer.

I hate to tell u but this is the most wonderful and flattering color I’ve seen u in yet. It may be bright but it’s killer on you.
Wear it and don’t be intimidated.
