Guerlain Geisha Le Rouge G de Guerlain Lipstick ($45.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a beautiful shade of red with just a tinge of orange. It has a soft, glistening sheen with a very subtle mix of coppery shimmer that you can’t even feel–it’s that fine. It applies decently from the tube, but to get a really defined pout, a lip brush is a must. It feels like silk on the lips–very lightweight–but it gives you heavyweight color.

The color wears well, giving me hours of wear and lasting fairly well through drinking/eating. I’ve noticed that lighter shades of Rouge G don’t quite last thoroughly through drinking or eating, but more intense shades like Geisha do. There’s some fading, but it’s even and still wearable without needing to reapply.  Geisha is surprisingly not too orange on me, as I tend to run away from anything too orange-red.  It’s just a slight fiery red on me.

Ha ha .. kill the lemming? More like make me buy ten 🙂

Refills?? Wonder how that would work?? I really love do Guerlain products.

The great thing about buying Guerlain here is that it is sold at a major drugstore (Shoppers Drug Mart) and you can collect points that allow you to get a certain dollar amouunt for free! It is a really good deal cause they also sell MUFE and Dior.

I’ve heard so much about the point system at Shoppers! Argh! Nordstrom has points, too, but sometimes I feel like if I ever make it to the reward certificate… it means I spent WAY TOO MUCH.

I think it’d allow you to refill each of the compacts with the lipstick, so if you run out, you wouldn’t have to pay the full $45 all over again. I’m not really sure, as I’ve never refilled any product ever. (Which just goes to say how bad I am at finishing a product.)

This brand isn’t sold at every Shoppers. It’s not sold at my location, although they sell a few other brands that I like.

I would never pay almost 50 dollars for a lip product. Unless it was some jumbo Costco-esque size haha. Very pretty colour though! I love the finish – just enough glitter to add a nice shine, but not so much that your lips resemble a disco ball.

I heard about refills and I even saw them for sale on ebay at much better price. I did not buy because until recently my Nordstrom did not have a Guerlain counter and I hate buying lippies without trying first.

If you have the money, sure. If you find just that perfect shade (’cause there are a lot of shades), sure. In general? No. I think $45 is excessive, particular because Guerlain does excellent KissKiss lipsticks, which are $30. I’d rather pay $35 or so for these lipsticks and skip the fancy packaging. I love the texture, feel, and wear of these, but I’m hard pressed to really say *any* lipstick is worth $45. I am also of the beauty school of thinking that if you like something, you want it, and you can afford it, “worth” is relative.
