Guerlain Champs-Elysees (165) Le Vernis Review, Photos, Swatches

Guerlain Champs-Elysees (165) Le Vernis ($23.00 for 0.33 fl. oz.) is a bright, warm-toned reddish-coral with a cream finish. L’Oreal The Queen’s Might is slightly lighter and shimmery. Chanel Suspicious is just a smidgen pinker but very close. Cult Nails Evil Queen is redder. Essie Too Hot is redder and warmer. China Glaze Hey Sailor is redder.

There were three major observations I had shortly after applying: 1) it is insanely pigmented–one coat is very nearly opaque (I used two coats, though, but my pinky nail is just one coat); 2) it dried down faster than the average polish; and 3) it has a high, glossy shine. I just wrapped up doing a wear test of this particular shade, and it lasted for a full seven days with very minor tip wear–it seemed to wear even better than Guerlain’s prior nail lacquers that they released last year. I was most impressed by the shine, though, as a cream color like this is typically rather pigmented, but it has such a glossy, plush look to it. The consistency wasn’t too thick or too thin, and the polish did not streak, bubble, or pool along the edges.

Such a stunning, high-profile looking red nail color. There might be many similar red nail polishes, but this looks like the mother of all in richness and class. WOW!!

The size of that brush made me stop in my tracks. That looks even wider than Loreal’s brush (which is borderline too wide for me).

Oh my goodness, it’s gorgeous! I love polishes that you can wear one or two coats of – but this one looks like a two-coater all the way, the finish and color are just so dreamy. This is my ideal color – for lips, nails, clothes – for spring/summer. Love it!

Wow, that shade just looks so… juicy! It reminds me of those really “juicy” watermelon fruit chews for some reason. Lol! It almost makes me want to wear nail polish; that’s how fantastic this shade is!

Maybe it’s the way the light is hitting it, but your pinky seems to have a pinkier tone while the rest of the nails seem more red.

In a cheaper alternative, but probably not as stunningly shinny, NYC In a New York Minute polish in Times Square seems to be a good dupe.

This color is gorgeous. Quick question, maybe I’ve missed this but have you done a tutorial/post on how you polish your nails? They always look fantastic.

Very pretty nail polish, I have the lipstick and it is a nice color even if I really just prefer pink than red most of the time 🙂 .

I don’t know – they didn’t say. This is all the information I have on it:

“Guerlain’s 10 newest nail lacquers are indispensable allies for accomplished femininity. These ultra-vibrant shades incorporate adhesive resins to offer a perfectly even sheen that lasts for days. The new collection also contains a base and top coat, designed with a silicone derivative to strengthen, reinforce, and protect the nail. Using each shade’s extra-flat and widened brush, Le Vernis creates a shiny, daring and immaculate nail with ease.”

Hi Christine! Could you say that this nail is the better nails ever?
If not, what nail is for you the best? Thanks for answering.
