Glossier Puff Cloud Paint Review, Photos, Swatches
Puff
Glossier Puff Cloud Paint ($18.00 for 0.33 oz.) is a soft, light-medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and a natural finish. It had sheer, buildable pigmentation–up to mostly opaque when applied in three layers–that sat beautifully on my skin. Though the blush wasn’t shimmery, it appeared to have a natural finish and let my skin shine through. I was impressed by how well the color sat on bare skin and didn’t emphasize my pores or skin texture. The consistency was lightweight, thin and airy with a watery-gel feel to the touch, which made it easy to spread and hard to overdo. It lasted nicely on my cheeks for eight hours before I noticed any fading.

The formula is supposed to have a "pillowy, gel-cream" texture that is "seamless, sheer, and buildable" that is designed to be applied with fingertips to the cheeks for a "healthy, flushed-from-within-glow." Their strength is in their airy, gel-like texture that's ultra-lightweight but more substantial than a runnier, watery cheek color, so I felt like it was a bit easier to spread the color onto my cheek area and get an even application of color early on. They were easy to work with on bare skin, and the texture worked well without any makeup as it sat naturally on the skin and let my natural skin texture and finish come through.
They worked fairly well over foundation but creamier foundations that don't set as well did not seem to play as well with it as some (I had great results layering the formula over Tarte's Rainforest of the Sea but less stellar results over ColourPop's No Filter Foundation). I liked application with fingertips or a stippling brush, but I tend to prefer fingertip application as it seems to allow me to cover a greater area with less possibility of disturbing my base products, though for blending more dried down color, a brush is better.
The coverage was as described--sheer and buildable--but they're going to be best suited for someone who prefers the look of a cheek stain over more opaque or pigmented color. They absolutely had a natural finish; they did not feel tacky after application, but they never looked flat or matte to me. They're buildable with the respect of getting slightly more coverage and a deeper, less watercolor-esque application with two to three layers. I preferred to build up in layers for best improvement in coverage as applying more seemed to end up with product across a larger area than more intense coverage. The blushes lasted between seven and nine hours on me.
I didn't love the packaging, because I felt like too often a small squeeze pushed out more product than necessary and often seemed to squeeze a little more out even after I had released pressure.

Sigh, another one of these I want.
It’s weird, because I have a mediumish olive skintone, but I find lighter blushes like this or paler suit me much better than medium ones. Anybody else feel the same?
Me too!!
I too am a light olive and this blush actually looks awesome on me š I say get it!
Thank you for reminding me to use this! It’s one of those that has fallen to the back of my makeup drawer, need to bust it out again because it does create a beautiful soft pink flush.
I can see this making for a super pretty pink cheek for fair and light skintones! Not for me, but I do like it for those who can pull it off.
This is what I wear most days, I love it. Beam and Dusk are others I frequently reach for and I mix them all as well. These are for me such a convenient, tool- free makeup item, which is what I end up using most days, in the car, on my way to wherever. As much as I love putting on makeup with brushes and such, and taking my time, it’s just not my everyday reality and these fit the on-the-go makeup life. And they look beautiful! Puff just brings life to anyone’s face in my opinion.
Iām medium right now and find this sooo pretty!! I have haze too but it seems almost too bright. I avoid clown cheeks.
I love these Cloud Paints. I have Puff and Dusk. My skin is light with light yellow undertones. I actually like to mix the Puff and Dusk. I like that I can just tap them on and go. I find they last about 10 hours without fading. My only complaint is with the packaging. It is too easy to get too much product with a tube. If Glossier wants a tube, I think one with a smaller opening would be better. I would actually like a controllable pump.
