Givenchy Rose Perfecto (204) Le Rouge-a-Porter

Givenchy Rose Perfecto (204) Le Rouge-a-Porter ($36.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a muted, fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a soft sheen. It had semi-sheer color payoff that went on fairly evenly and lasted for three hours. It was slightly hydrating over time. MAC Quite the Thing! (LE, $17.00) is more shimmery, brighter, glossier. MAC Heavenly Hybrid (LE, $16.00) is darker, brighter. Chanel Jean (454) (P, $36.00) is brighter, more pigmented. Urban Decay Ladyflower (LE, $22.00) is brighter. Urban Decay Sheer Anarchy (P, $20.00) is darker, brighter. Chanel Viva (95) (LE, $35.00) is more shimmery, brighter. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Givenchy Corail Decollete (206) Le Rouge-a-Porter ($36.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a muted, medium coral-pink with warm undertones and a soft sheen. It had sheer, even coverage that noticeably tinted the lips but had a very lightweight look on the lips. This shade wore for three hours and was lightly moisturizing. Guerlain Pamplelune (P, $35.00) is more shimmery, darker. Guerlain Nahema (P, $37.00) is cooler, glossier. MAC Fashion Force (LE, $20.00) is warmer. Givenchy Rose Dentelle (203) (P, $36.00) is darker, brighter, glossier. Too Faced Bon Bon (P, $22.00) is brighter, cooler, glossier. NYX Haute Melon (P, $4.00) is brighter. Estee Lauder Charmed (P, $30.00) is darker, more pigmented. MAC Play It Soft (LE, $20.00) is brighter. MAC Call the Hairdresser! (LE, $16.00) is darker. Chanel Desinvolte (97) (P, $35.00) is darker. Chanel Boheme (91) (P, $35.00) is cooler, glossier. Estee Lauder Rebellious Rose (P, $30.00) is less shimmery, darker, brighter. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Givenchy Rouge Atelier (302) Le Rouge-a-Porter ($36.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a medium-dark red with warm orange undertones and a natural finish. It hda semi-sheer color payoff and was one of the more pigmented shades from the six I bought (which may be a good or bad thing, depending on your preferences for coverage). This shade lasted for four hours on me, so it was also one of the better-wearing ones. It was neither hydrating nor drying. Too Faced Red Stiletto (P, $22.00) is brighter, glossier. Revlon Provocateur (135) (P, $8.99) is brighter. Chanel Dialogue (P, $35.00) is darker. MAC Flaming Lips (LE, $20.00) is lighter, brighter. Chanel Arthur (440) (P, $36.00) is lighter, brighter. Urban Decay Sheer Slowburn (P, $20.00) is lighter, brighter. MAC Head in the Clouds (LE, $16.00) is more shimmery, lighter, brighter. Estee Lauder Envious (P, $30.00) is lighter, brighter. MAC Cherry Glaze (LE, $20.00) is brighter, glossier. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Formula Summary: Givenchy Le Rouge-a-Porter ($36.00 for 0.07 oz.) is supposed to be a hydrating, sheer coverage lipstick packaged in a slim tube that’s a riff off of the original Le Rouge formula. This formula is significantly lighter in weight and look, as well as much sheerer (and that is by design). The texture has a very smooth, velvety feel to it, almost like a stiffer lip balm, but it doesn’t tug on the lips. The color tended to look more like a stain of color, and it felt a little clingy, even if it wasn’t actually drying. For me, the formula was lightly hydrating at most and tended to wear only a few hours. These have a floral scent that’s noticeable in the tube and once applied, though I didn’t notice any taste.

As a big fan of the original Le Rouge formula I was very excited when this line was released. But after swatching them I’m a little less tempted to purchase one. They look nice but most of the shades seem really sheer. I ended up liking Lancome’s Shine Lover better for a lightweight semi-opaque and shiny lipstick, and the fact that it’s $11 cheaper helps too!

I really like the eye look you’ve done here with the Chanel eyeshadow sticks! I think Corail Décolleté is my favourite out of this bunch.

These remind me of the Revlon Lip Butters in terms of pigment and formula. If I’m going to spend $36 on a lipstick, I personally want more pigment and more unique colors, but I guess you are also paying for the elegant packaging and Givenchy name. BTW, I love your eye look!

Rouge Atelier has caught my eye! Just a beautiful summertime juicy looking red! But I will go for one of the dupes though, because there isn’t a large quantity of product in that tube, nor an A grade for the price point. For all I know, I may even have a dupe hiding around here….somewhere?

Nicole Avatar

Pretty! But, I’m not sure if I’m saturated in sheer lipsticks at this point. I may try some on though next time I’m inSephora. The thing is,I really love the Lauder shine formula. So, if this is better and the price can warrant it..hmmm. How do those formulas compare Christine?

Nicole Avatar

Hmm..For this price, I will surely have to try it on. But, I think I would rather get 1.5. Lauders or save up a little more for another Rouge G , or just get a new Nars or Besame. Btw, Portrait Pink from Besame…you should check out. Gorgeous and the pink is beautiful. Pulls out the hazel in my eyes. It would be so gorgeous on you . Celia was spot on on that recommedation. I’m Besame hooked.:)
Tell me, what do you think of the Tom Ford mascara or are you doing a review on it?

Nicole Avatar

I don’t . I typically only use Clinique bottom lash mascara on the lower. My lashes are on the longer side and I have bad dark circles. So , the combo of heavy underye concealer( I skip powder there or go real light with something like Guerlain Meteorites or Hourglass ambient) . CBL is the only one that is not waterproof that doesn’t wind up smudging on my undereye.Tom Ford’s is very not water resistant or proof. I found that out real quick. If you are one to tear or sweat at all,id invest in one of the waterproofing topcoats. I like Anastasia’s. I just use it if I’m going to a sad movie or something. My daughter once splashed me with water at a party. Nice dramatic effect with One raccoon eye, lol.

Well these look lovely! 🙂 My next order contains one of two colors that I can actually use! Though I should probably use up some simiilar products prior! I’m glad to view your thoughts on these! Many loved them and said they gave more color than most balm hybrids, which is lovely, yet bring the original formulation is so difficult to glide well across my lips, something I actually like, I was trepidatious to try a sheered out formulation of the same thing.. Supposedly so, anyway.. But they seem worth a go! The one I can use will be with me some day! 😀 I adore Givenchy Rouge Interdit Satin Lipsticks! They go on like butter and have a beautiful finish! The Pink Whisper one is a long time go-to for me to have a moisturized lightened natural looking pout. I’m hoping these will be closer to those but slightly different in a good way! 🙂
