Giorgio Armani Granite (101) & Cedar (206) Lip Maestros Reviews & Swatches
Granite (101)
Giorgio Armani Granite (101) Lip Maestro ($38.00 for 0.22 oz.) is a deep, muted peach with warmer undertones and a a glossy, cream finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which spread evenly and smoothly across my lips without emphasizing my lip lines or feathering beyond my natural lip. The texture was lightly creamy, not too thick or too thin, velvety, and comfortable to wear–flexible without being too slippery. The glossiness wore away after an hour or two, depending on how much drinking I did (of water). It stayed on nicely for five hours and felt moisturizing while worn.

Formula Overview
$38.00/0.22 oz. - $172.73 Per Ounce
The consistency has more slip and a velvety-smooth feel that softly “clings” to the lips, so while the finish has a glossier look for the first few hours, the color stays on well. If you’ve ever used a silicone-based primer, there’s a bit of that feel to the formula overall. Most shades last between six and eight hours on me, are non-drying to lightly hydrating, and comfortable to wear. The formula is unscented and has no discernible taste.
The Lip Maestro Notorious formula is supposed to have a “luminous matte” finish with “8 hours of wear” and “high pigment.” The Notorious shades are inspired by “chic Hollywood glamour” but otherwise appear very similar in feel to the original Lip Maestro formula.

Granite (101)
PPermanent. $38.00.
Cedar (206)
Giorgio Armani Cedar (206) Lip Maestro ($38.00 for 0.22 oz.) is a rich, deep copper with warm, balanced red and orange undertones and a cream finish. There was the barest amount of micro-shimmer–so fine that I almost didn’t catch it, even in the close-up photo (should tell you how nearly invisible it is in person!). It had opaque pigmentation that adhered evenly and smoothly across my lips. The consistency was lightweight, velvety with moderate slip but didn’t feel too wet or slippery on my lips. It had more of moderate, glossy sheen initially, but it wore down to a more satin-matte finish with an hour or two (or blot once or twice to get it right off the bat). It wore well for six and a half hours and was hydrating over time.

Cedar’s shade is my biggest weakness. Considering I have every dupe except the bookends, Misfit and Shizuka, guess I don’t need the GA. Somedays you even embarrass yourself.
Wow! Almost every dupe!
Shouldn’t have looked, shouldn’t have looked…. because now I love both for autumn.
Granite makes me think of the very thing I giggle about every September for the past several years: pumpkin spice. Yet, I am absolutely in love with this pumpkiny spicey lipstick!
And Cedar is such a lush shade of copper, or as my Mom always called this shade, rust. Either/or, I love that it puts me in mind of autumn in the Northeast with all the leaves changing.
But with the holiday onslaught about to descend upon us, will I really remember these when November rolls around with the next Rouge sale? If I wait that long, that is.
I had some pumpkin bread today… and it was like fall in a bite. Put me in quite the mood for fall!
oh no I love these! but I have dupes so no need to purchase.
Phew, money saved!
Both very pretty. I know it is weird but I don’t like the red top of Granite with the shade in the tube. They seem to clash to me and that is so petty!!
They are nice!
Cedar looks like a great color for fall.
Isn’t it! I feel like some of the designer brands still do some fall-ish releases, though they’re sooo quietly done.
Too bad it was just water!! These are on my short list of lippies to buy–they seem just gorgeous! I just ordered Pat Mcgrath Flesh Fatale just because of you–can’t wait to try it!
Hope you enjoy it, Alicia!
No wonder I love Cedar, I have quite a few dupes for it. It’s a glorious shade.
I agree — it’s a beauty!
cedar is majestic like its namesake! It’s my favorite type of trees!
This goes on my wish-list until I get to a Giorgio Armani beauty counter
