Giorgio Armani Venetian Red & Palazzo Lip Maestros Reviews & Swatches
Venetian Red (208)
Giorgio Armani Venetian Red (208) Lip Maestro ($38.00 for 0.22 oz.) is a brighter, light-medium copper with strong, warm orange undertones and a luminous sheen with very, very fine micro-pearl strewn throughout a more cream-like finish. It had rich color coverage that adhered evenly to my lips and spread easily with the doe-foot applicator.
The texture was lightweight, creamy and more velvety, so while it didn’t have a matte dry down, there was some adhesion and a lot of flexibility to keep it comfortable to wear. It wore well for seven and a half hours and felt lightly hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$38.00/0.22 oz. - $172.73 Per Ounce
The consistency has more slip and a velvety-smooth feel that softly “clings” to the lips, so while the finish has a glossier look for the first few hours, the color stays on well. If you’ve ever used a silicone-based primer, there’s a bit of that feel to the formula overall. Most shades last between six and eight hours on me, are non-drying to lightly hydrating, and comfortable to wear. The formula is unscented and has no discernible taste.
The Lip Maestro Notorious formula is supposed to have a “luminous matte” finish with “8 hours of wear” and “high pigment.” The Notorious shades are inspired by “chic Hollywood glamour” but otherwise appear very similar in feel to the original Lip Maestro formula.

Venetian Red (208)
PPermanent. $38.00.
Palazzo (209)
Giorgio Armani Palazzo (209) Lip Maestro ($38.00 for 0.22 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark copper with strong, warm undertones with fine, golden pearl in a cream finish. It had semi-opaque color payoff in a single layer, which spread easily across my lips for an even lay down of color.
This particular shade was less smoothing of my vertical lip lines, though, and there was a bit of translucency, which is uncommon with this formula. The consistency felt lightweight, creamy, and more velvety–a bit dense and plush in a way but not thick–that was comfortable to wear. The color stayed on nicely for seven hours and felt lightly moisturizing while worn.

I keep eyeballing lip products in the Venetian Red colour family and putting them on my wishlist. I need something not too glossy and a bit dulled down if I am to have any hope of pulling it off. Maybe the transparency could be a good thing. Still on the fence.
Palazzo is really nice. But I actually prefer either their own shade dupe Cedar over it or Colourpop’s Girl Gang. Probably because those two would be more flattering on me, maybe?
I like both of these shades – certainly the Venetian Red is perhaps a misleading title for the lip gloss, as there is nothing red about it. But it is an unusual pumpkin kind of shade. Palazzo is just plain gorgeous.
It’s very close in shade to the “Venetian Red” you find in paint pigments, so I’d imagine that’s what the name references.
