Giorgio Armani No. 13 Fluid Sheer Review, Photos, Swatches
Giorgio Armani No. 13 Fluid Sheer
Giorgio Armani No. 13 Fluid Sheer ($62.00 for 1.0 fl. oz.) is a brightened, light-medium yellow gold with fine gold shimmer that gives it a soft, glowing sheen that doesn’t read too shimmery on the skin. It has a stronger yellow base, though it is a sheer coverage product, but it will noticeably tint the cheeks yellow on some skin tones (it does on mine for reference). The texture is lightweight and spread well, but it didn’t blend out as evenly as other shades in the range, which was disappointing, and I think it was because it dried down quickly. It lasted for eight and a half hours on me. L’Oreal Golden (P, $12.99) is warmer. NARS Jubilation (Left) (P, ) is more shimmery, darker. Dior Gold Shock (001) (LE, $80.00) is less shimmery. Becca Champagne Gold (LE, $38.00) is more shimmery, lighter. Giorgio Armani No. 04 (P, $62.00) is less shimmery. MAC Centre of Attention (Inner) (LE, $30.00) is more shimmery. Bobbi Brown Party (LE, $42.00) is more shimmery, cooler. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
FORMULA SUMMARY | Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer ($62.00 for 1.0 fl. oz.) is available in fifteen shades that range from sheer beige to sheer yellow to sheer copper. The formula is supposed to “dress skin in an illuminating veil of radiance.” It’s designed to be sheer, though some shades are more buildable than others, and in general, the darker hued shades are going to appear more pigmented and can be used as highlighting blushes or even as blushes (depending on your skin tone) — the brand actually calls out it can be used as “an eyeshadow base, blush, or bronzer” as well as your typical highlighter. It can be used alone, mixed with base products (like foundation, primer, or moisturizing). Some shades are glittery, others are shimmery, and others have very fine shimmer. Alone, I tend to get seven to eight hours of wear with lighter, shimmery shades and closer to ten hours or longer with some of the bolder shades, and it doesn’t seem to impact the wear of my base products (either shortening or lengthening the wear). I like fingertips or a duo-fiber/stippling brush for application using a patting and dabbing motion rather than a lot of sweeping, then a light buffing to diffuse and blend out the edges.

That’s pretty! I like gold.
Me too! 🙂
This seems like a color that’ll be really unflattering on most skin tones.
I think this is one that may be better mixed than used alone, OR layered with a blush 🙂
I wonder if this one would work for me. I had a sample of 4 (the very yellow one) and I’m so yellow toned it was practically a sparkly tinted moisturiser. I sort of wish they had a greenish one though – most “yellow toned” foundations I try still are too peach for me and don’t have the olive undertone my skin has, I wonder it could work almost as a colour corrector and cancel out the peach tones. Maybe it would just make me look like the Wicked WItch of the West, I don’t know.
That would be interesting if they did a green correcting one!
Ahh I kinda see what you mean with it looking a little too yellow. It’s still very pretty but I think it’ll be better for mixing.
Agreed!
Wow, this one is very yellow. But if you have some yellow undertones, I wonder if you could mix this into a foundation that’s too a little too pink or orange to correct it. Or maybe this looks better on the shoulders and décolleté
That might work!
I know you reviewed the shade 03 a while ago and I’m not sure if you still have that, but how do these compare?
Do you think this could be used to more yellow tones to a foundation?
Here are the two: http://www.temptalia.com/submit-dupe?sbs=1&pid=121456&dupe=201039
#04 is going to make more sense for mixing if you don’t want a lot of shimmer!
I like this, and the yellowness is not an issue (I am SOOOO yellow!) but it looks like it might read orange on me.
I wonder if it would!
Very glowy! Too warm for me but it’s perfect for warm skins who want a bold look!
It’s a more unique shade for sure!
Not for me. Too yellow.
Totally understand!
In the bottle it’s giving me these “Courtney Love lying face down in her own vom”, but it looks lovely on.
It can be daunting in the bottle, but it can be quite nice on!
Ok, so this looks straight up YELLOW. While I can definitely see its usefulness to do a little warming up of a pink or red undertone in ones skin by mixing it with ones foundation, I sure wouldn’t use this on my yellowish skintone because it would make me appear to be suffering from some severe liver disease!
Makes sense!
Wow, that is…very gold. Definitely a shade for the very warm toned among us, though I can see it working well on darker skin tones.
Definitely!
