Giorgio Armani No. 09 Fluid Sheer Review, Photos, Swatches
Giorgio Armani No. 09 Fluid Sheer
Giorgio Armani No. 09 Fluid Sheer ($62.00 for 1.0 fl. oz.) is a bold, brightened, fuchsia-red with cool, blue undertones and fine gold, pink, and violet shimmer. This is sheerer than it looks, though it is one of the more buildable shades in the range. It is easiest to get a sheer tint of color (noticeable but still lets a lot of the natural skin color come through), but two to three layers gets you semi-opaque color, if desired. The finish is more satin once applied as the shimmer doesn’t stand out. I liked applying this prior to foundation and then using foundation to help keep it from being too intense on me, when I wanted to wear it as more of a distinct blush. For a sheerer tint of color, applying on bare skin or over foundation worked just fine with a few pats of the fingertip or a small, stippling brush. The texture was thin, a little watery, and it did seem thinner than the average shade in this range. On me, the color wore for almost ten hours before fading slightly. ColourPop Clutch (P, $8.00) is less shimmery. YSL Fuchsia Desinvolte (01) (P, $40.00) is brighter, cooler. NARS Adoration (Right) (P, ) is more shimmery, lighter. Surratt Beauty Rougeur (P, $32.00) is darker. Burberry Hydrangea Pink (P, $42.00) is less shimmery. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
FORMULA SUMMARY | Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer ($62.00 for 1.0 fl. oz.) is available in fifteen shades that range from sheer beige to sheer yellow to sheer copper. The formula is supposed to “dress skin in an illuminating veil of radiance.” It’s designed to be sheer, though some shades are more buildable than others, and in general, the darker hued shades are going to appear more pigmented and can be used as highlighting blushes or even as blushes (depending on your skin tone) — the brand actually calls out it can be used as “an eyeshadow base, blush, or bronzer” as well as your typical highlighter. It can be used alone, mixed with base products (like foundation, primer, or moisturizing). Some shades are glittery, others are shimmery, and others have very fine shimmer. Alone, I tend to get seven to eight hours of wear with lighter, shimmery shades and closer to ten hours or longer with some of the bolder shades, and it doesn’t seem to impact the wear of my base products (either shortening or lengthening the wear). I like fingertips or a duo-fiber/stippling brush for application using a patting and dabbing motion rather than a lot of sweeping, then a light buffing to diffuse and blend out the edges.

This looks beautiful on you! Not sure I’m willing to spend $62 on it though! I wish they sold mini bottles!
It would be awesome if they did minis!
I agree! I wish they had mini bottles or a sampler kit with different colors – would make it more affordable and you can try different colors.
Agreed! I was just thinking, if they offered this in half the size and half the cost, then I would definitely pick it up, but I don’t need 1 oz. of blush.
This is the only GA fluid sheer I own. It’s one of my favorite blushes. So flattering on you too!
Thank you, Di! 🙂 What do you like to apply it with?
I use my fingers to initially apply, then use Hakuhodo brush #J511. If any edges need blurring or blending out a bit, I use a moistened Beauty Blender. I then go back and dot on some extra fluid sheer on the apples only.
I don’t wear this with foundation at all. I make sure my cheeks have some moisturizer on first and then just apply this blush.
Thank you, Di!! I also like how the Fluid Sheers look on bare skin — not all products work as well on bare skin!
I have #5 and Iove it, but it will definitely outlive me for sure bc you need s little and it’s a huge amount of liquid
LOL! Especially with the blusher-type shades… you need soooooo little.
I was wondering how that color would work. I am guessing this one wouldn’t work for much more than blush? …and $62 for blush hurts lol. But it’s a beautiful color and the formula looks awesome!
The color seems like it will lend itself best as a blush!
Oh wow, it’s gorgeous! Like liquid candy 😀
Yum!
This is the shade that I have, and I love it! I’ve literally worn it every day since I got it (in May). I like to dot it on with my fingers, making a row of 5-7 tiny dots up my cheekbones, and then blending with my Rae Morris deluxe kabuki brush.
Nice! Thank you for sharing your application method, Megan 😀
You look so very Pretty!!!! The cheeks, eyes and lips. Can you share what is on the eyes and lips???
Thank you, Lisa!
OOPs, so sorry, I see “The Makeup Look” with the info
Glad you caught it! 🙂
Wow, pretty!
Agreed!
That really looks gorgeous on you. That might be the prettiest cheek stain I’ve ever seen.
It is really nice! Very spring-y.
Nice, very nice but pricey…
It is quite pricey!
This one is so beautiful! It looks gorgeous on you! I’ve had mine for over two years, and it’s still like new. I have Burberry Hydrangea as well, but I didn’t even make the connection until you listed it. I guess I’m horribly biased, but both are HG for me. I’d recommend these two products to anyone who has dark hair and wears cool colors. Very best of the best!
I can’t imagine finishing this. I feel like you’d have to spill at least half of it on accident, LOL.
One word: Perfection! Like many others have commented before, I would absolutely buy this if it were half the size, and in the $40-ish range, because even then it would take quite a long time to use it up. But this shade may be worth the splurge…perhaps?
I wonder if Giorgio Armani ever does samples of these, lol!
Probably not, but Sephora does! Although I’m pretty certain the SA will think I’m off my gourd!
You look phenomenal! I would love to see a tutorial on this eye look. I’ve seen a few photos of you lately with this Viseart palette and your whole look is definitely something I gravitate towards. The colours on your eyes look so crisp, are you wearing a white base underneath? This cheek look is also gorgeous. This is a great way to wear a coloured blush (one that doesn’t run quite so neutral) without going over the top. It’s beautifully subtle. I’m agape. It’s just so freaking lovely.
No tutorial for it, but this post has the info on exact shades + better photos! 🙂 http://www.temptalia.com/viseart-paris-nude-06-eyeshadow-palette-review-photos-swatches
No base, just straight from the palette.
Oh, I like the sheer finish of the blush tint. It is though very easily dupable. I am currently using a Sephora Collection liquid tint that gives me almost identical look and shade.
Ohh, nice!
Christine, how does this come out of the bottle? Is it a pump? Dropper? Or does it pour out like some foundations? Thanks 🙂
Pump! It is smaller than it used to be.
WOW! Beautiful!
It is!
That is super gorgeous. Reminds me of the Daniel Sandler Watercolour blushes, which I adore.
Oooh, nice! I have always wanted to try that line.
