Giorgio Armani No. 04 Fluid Sheer Review, Photos, Swatches
Giorgio Armani No. 04 Fluid Sheer
Giorgio Armani No. 04 Fluid Sheer ($59.00 for 1.0 fl. oz.) is a warm-toned, sheer yellow with a subtle, luminous shimmer and sheen. As a highlighter, the effect is similar to Chanel Or or bareMinerals The Shining Moment to a subtler degree (see comparison swatches here).
Fluid Sheer is described as “an illuminating veil of radiance” that can be used as a base, corrector, or “radiance [booster]” applied alone, over, mixed with, or under foundation, as well as applied as a more traditional blush, bronzer, or highlighter (depending on the shade and your skin tone/color). No. 04 make look intimidating in the bottle, and when initially pumped out, it’s definitely yellow, but it sheers out beautifully to a soft, yellowy shimmer that will work really well on warmer complexions to add a golden warmth and sheen. I like it mixed with moisturizer or foundation (depending on what I’m doing), as well as patted along the high planes of the face as a highlighter. When mixed with foundation, the wear seems to be the same as whatever I normally get with that particular foundation (but there’s no breakdown of the foundation because of this), and when worn just as a highlighter (as I am in the photo below), it wears seven hours well, and then starts to fade away.
It’s definitely a very versatile, nearly error-proof formula, because it’s spreadable, blendable, and can be worn over/under liquids as well as powders. Some liquid products don’t react well to powder and end up looking patchy or start flaking away, but this worked nicely even layered on top of setting and finishing powders as a last minute addition. One bottle will last you quite awhile, because a little goes a long way (be careful when pumping out the product if you only want to use it as a spot highlighter/blush).
P.S. — I recommend watching Dustin Hunter’s video on the Fluid Sheers, because his video is what made me NEED this.
P.P.S — Giorgio Armani Beauty is also having their Friends & Family sale now through the 30th, so that’s 20% off + free shipping when you spend $75.

Oh wow yes, it sure looks scary in the bottle and unblended :-O But it actually looks very nice.
Hi Christine! You mentioned that it can be a corrector. You think I could use this to colour-correct a foundation thats too pink on me?
I think it could help!
Will you be reviewing the other shades of Fluid Sheer? I think your recent FB post had a few different colors! 🙂
I got #5 for my birthday two weeks ago and I still haven’t figured out what to do with it. It doesn’t show up as a blush on my skin (which is what I wanted it for), and as a highlighter it is weak. It must be my application.
Looks nice on! This might be too yellow/dark for my skin, but I’m still curious about it.
What should I be seeing on your face? Where is it? :). Sorry!
Just doesn’t seem all that attractive to me but some of the other shades look interesting if not downright glowily fabulous.
I have shade 5 I think (the red one) and the quality of this product is amazing. The yellow may make my already yellowish skin, more so but i’ll definitely opt for the other shades though. LOVE Giorgio Armani products – I have yet to be disappointed.
At first I thought it was a foundation, and its being yellow had me very confused. Obviously, I need some rest!
Eeek, that would make me look terrifyingly jaundiced, but I do love the concept of them and what I’ve seen on other websites. I’ll have to give some of the other shades a look. 😀
When I first glanced at this post, I thought that was a nail polish haha!
I definitely love the yellow tint it gives off.
Oh so ick in the bottle, but true to form, it looks super on warm skin. I probably wouldn’t go for this shade myself, but you’ve definitely done this one justice, Christine!
This is my favorite new product. I usually mix with foundation if the color is a little too pink and it works fabulously. I like it so much that I went back and got the raspberry color (8 maybe). It is a beautiful color for blush or lips. I also like to dot fluid sheers on my eye to give my eyeshadow a bit of extra oomph. I got a gwp from nordstrom that included a sample bottle of #10 and a trial tube of #2. They are both beautiful as well. And now I won’t have to buy those because you can do so much with so little of this product.
I’m intrigued by this, do you think it would help to colour correct a foundation that’s too pink-toned, or would the amount you’d need add too much shimmer?
I think it could help correct!
How interesting especially after reading some article on Turmeric and the benefits and many Indian woman use it topically to give themselves a glow.
That’s a weird product, I thought it was nail polish!
Your skin looks amazing! What lip product are you wearing?
Giorgio Armani #519 Flash Lip Lacquer!
Christine do you think this could be used to tone down redness on the face, or would it be too sparkly? I currently use the MAC neutralize prep and prime but I am wondering about this.
It’s going to be more shimmery than MAC P+P if I remember P+P’s texture/finish correctly, but I don’t think it’s super shimmery. Guerlain has a few shimmery primers, and they definitely don’t read like you just doused yourself in a highlighter!
This looks like it leaves almost a jaundice type color behind. I could see this being pretty on deeper skin tones.
EGADS! I’ve never seen Dusty’s channel before, but he’s fabulous. These are fabulous.
He is amazing!
I’m a fair Irish ‘Red’ & I picked this up at Neiman’s after talking w/MUFE Artist on their Makeup Bag Remix bus. For ppl like me, I use this after primer to counter my VERY pink undertones. It’s all you’d expect from Armani in the “see-thru” beauty they’re known for. Extremely subtle in neutralizing to perfection; unlike your swatch, no yellow comes thru on me, just looks -neutral- It’s been 6wks now & w/daily full-face/neck applicatns, only 25% of products been used. Good rule of thumb w/this (as with all makeup) is a couple drops @ a time.. You can add & add, but it’s a total waste of both time/$$$ to over-pump..
