Giorgio Armani Maestro Liquid Summer Bronzers Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Giorgio Armani Maestro Bronzer
Last year, Giorgio Armani Maestro Bronzer ($64.00 for 1.0 fl. oz.) launched in Sun Kiss (100), which I really loved as a formula. It was limited edition, but this summer, it’s back along with two more shades (one lighter and one darker) and seems to be permanent. I remember last year that I wished for a rosier and deeper shade for darker skin tones, and now we have one lighter and darker! The formula is thin, almost watery, with a velvety feel that has a more satin finish to it–if you’ve tried the Maestro line at all, the texture is very in line with the rest of the range. It sits extremely well on the skin, whether bare or over/under foundation, and it blends out easily and lasts for nine to ten hours. The only thing I’m not keen on is the packaging, which uses a dropper to dispense the product. One bottle contains a mega-ton of bronzer, so it’ll take a long time to get through a bottle, and I’d rather a half-size option for $40 or so instead (same with the brand’s Fluid Sheers).
Giorgio Armani Sun Glow (90) Maestro Bronzer ($64.00 for 1.0 fl. oz.) is a light-medium brown with soft, yellow undertones and a very, very fine golden shimmer-sheen that gives it a more satin finish. It was very pigmented but blendable and easily sheered out if desired. This color doesn’t show up much on my medium skin tone, so it would be better for fairer complexions or for mixing with foundation to add an all-over glow. It lasted for nine hours on me. Make Up For Ever #20M (P, $36.00) is more shimmery, darker, warmer. MAC Golden Rinse (LE, $35.50) is cooler. Giorgio Armani Sun Kiss (100) (P, $64.00) is darker. MAC Sun Dipped (LE, $30.00) is more shimmery, darker.See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Giorgio Armani Sun Kiss (100) Maestro Bronzer ($64.00 for 1.0 fl. oz.) is medium brown with warm, yellow-red undertones and a very fine, golden shimmer that creates a more satin-like finish on the skin. It had rich color coverage in a single drop, and I use about one to two drops per cheek at most (you really don’t need much at all!). It blended out beautifully and wore for nine hours on me. MAC Golden Rinse (LE, $35.50) is lighter, cooler. Hourglass Luminous Bronze Light (P, $50.00) is more shimmery, lighter. MAC Sun Dipped (LE, $30.00) is more shimmery. Make Up For Ever #25I (P, $36.00) is more shimmery. Make Up For Ever #20M (P, $36.00) is more shimmery, lighter. ColourPop Carry-On (P, $8.00) is warmer. Giorgio Armani Sun Glow (90) (P, $64.00) is darker. Becca Topaz (P, $41.00) is less shimmery. Becca Topaz (P, $41.00) is less shimmery. Too Faced Dark Cocoa (P, ) is warmer, less shimmery. Urban Decay Naked on the Run Bronzer (LE, ) is more shimmery. Wet ‘n’ Wild Bikini Contest (P, $3.99) is more shimmery, warmer. Urban Decay Naked Flushed Bronzer (P, ) is less glossy. Divergent Intelligent Bronze (LE, ) is less shimmery, lighter. (, $0.00) is warmer, less pigmented, better quality, glossier. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Giorgio Armani Sun Bath (110) Maestro Bronzer ($64.00 for 1.0 fl. oz.) is a rich, coppery brown with fine gold shimmer that gives it a satin finish overall. The texture was blendable, thin, and easily sheered out, if desired. It was richly pigmented and a little went a long way. On me, the color wore for almost ten hours before fading slightly. Guerlain Moyen Brunettes (05) (LE, $75.00) is less shimmery, lighter. Guerlain #02 (P, $53.00) is cooler. MAC Billionaire Bronze (LE, $29.50) is less shimmery, darker. Clarins Splendours (LE, $35.00) is lighter, warmer. Le Metier de Beaute Sun Drenched (P, $55.00) is warmer. MAC Sun Dipped (LE, $30.00) is lighter. I like them but I think they would all be too peach/orange on me. Have you tried the Perricone?
No, sorry.
Whoa, Nelly! These are gorgeous! And so, so flattering on you. 🙂
Thanks!
Funny you’re reviewing these today! I’m wearing Sun Glow (90)! I put a single drop on the back of my hand (a drop per side of face) and dab a stippling brush in it, and buff it into the “3” shape on my face. I’m really really fair skinned, and this blends out BEAUTIFULLY!!!! I’m in love. This will last me forever though. A smaller size would be amazing. I’ve always pondered the fluid sheers but i’ll never go through it all and I like a more intense highlight.
Happy to hear how well this working for you, Lauren! Thank you for sharing your application tip 🙂
Glad these got such great scores. My wallet is breathing a sigh of relief that these are still too dark or orange for me. Your eye look is gorgeous! Love the shadow, so beautifully blended. What is that eyeliner and mascara you are wearing?
Sephora Flirting Game for eyeliner, no idea on mascara. I don’t keep track!
I am guessing you applied this product with a brush, in all the same places you would apply powder bronzer?
I used fingertips for swatches, but yes, you would apply it as you would a powder one as far as placement!
I was prepared for the darkest shade to be a little garish, but it actually looks really nice!
It is!
I’m not keen on bronzers, but that lightest one looks like such a lovely, neutral glow to your skin that I’m tempted.
I think the sheerness coupled with the slight warmth might make it a real winner on fairer skin!
Maestro Bronze looks like it would really work well on my medium olive-toned skintone! For reference: MAC C4.5 Studio Fix Liquid foundation. This could the depth I need, because as much as I really love my ColourPop Poolside, I still wind up having to add a darker shade underneath it in the cheek hollows, jaw-line to sculpt better. Only thing is the $$$ are near prohibitive for something so seasonal!
It is pricey! Wish they did smaller sizes.
I am confused! I got this earlier this year in #10, is it the 110 you described Christine? Just out of curiosity, because regardless, I LOVE this bronzer more than any other 🙂
The numbers are 90, 100, and 110 on the bottles I have!
hhmm..mine doesn’t have a number, I wonder if it’s different through sephora?
Thanks 🙂
That’s odd – usually Giorgio Armani only has numbers and rarely has names on their products.
O! I found it! It was at the bottom on the sticker…so sorry! I was going with the sephora.ca website and they have 9, 10 there 🙂 thanks Christine!
Oooh, glad you could find it 😀
Armani Fluid Sheer comes in shade #10 but it is a much lighter shade of bronze than these three new ones.
I see from your post last year that you said you used a concealer brush to dab and then fingers to blend. Is that still how you apply it? (Feel free to ignore/not post this comment if you already been asked/answered this question!)
I just used fingertips for swatches here 🙂
OMG These are beautiful and even the darkest actually looks wearable (with NC 20 ish, I wouldn’t go that deep, but I’m commenting on how subtle it looks). I really do not need another bronzer, particularly since these are industrial sized, but I’m very very tempted. Plus, I love your eye look in the photos.
Thank you, Wendy! 😀
They are really pretty. I got the Michael Kors one, though (it’s more of a jelly texture), and it will take me forever to get through that, so I really don’t need another ginormous liquid bronzer!
Glad you have a liquid bronzer in your arsenal!
This looks great on you! I love that Liquid Summer is kind of a cross between bronzer and liquid highlighter — Dying to try it!
It is!
Oooh, these look really nice!
They do!
Denatured alcohol is the fourth listed ingredient. That is inherently damaging to skin, so I definitely won’t buy this at any price.
Thanks for sharing! I believe that’s how the Maestro line works – a lot of slip but then the alcohol is in there so it dries down quickly.
I just bought a bottle of the 110 during the Private Sale. I can’t wait.
Nice!
All of these colors would be hideous on my NW10/15 skin, but they’ll be good for the warmer toned among us. (I really like your eye makeup here, Christine!)
Thank you, Veronica! 🙂
Thanks for the review!
What happened to your box btw? Looks kinda beat up. 😀
They’re press samples.
Oh these look good! Probably a bit too dewy for me though, but maybe I can mix them in with my moisturizer or regular foundation…
You totally could!
Hi Christine, if I want to mix this with my Maestro foundation (I’m NC40-42), which shade that has resemblance to my skin tone? I don’t expect some extra tan, just the glow. I bought the Fluid Sheer #10, sometimes it looked good, sometimes it made me like I have larger pores.
We don’t have Armani counter nearby, it frustrates me because I looooovvveeee their products (it is my #1 fave brand!), but all the hassle of choosing shade online kinda irk me, especially since we don’t have returning policy here 🙁
Thanks!
My guess would be 100 — 100 shows up as a bronzer on me (I’m about NC25 these days, possibly leaning a little lighter), though it’s not bam! bronzer either. So I feel like for NC40/42 it should blend well without adding a lot of color 🙂
Thanks! I’ll definitely add this to my wishlist!
The lightest one looks perfect for my pale skin. But the price 🙁 Nearly £40 is a lot to pay for a bronzer, even if it will last forever.
I knowwww! I wish they’d sell smaller sizes.
Sad…. third ingredient….alcohol:(
Yeah, I think that is part of the way the Maestro formula has its dry down!
THIS IS GREAT for WoC to add to their foundation!!!!! GORGEOUS RESULTS! Ugh! 🙂 Me? I don’t tan or bronze but I’m all for great ones for those who do! 🙂
It is great to see a lighter + darker shade!
