Giorgio Armani Four Hundred & Fighter Lip Power Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Four Hundred (400)
Giorgio Armani Four Hundred (400) Lip Power Satin Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a rich, medium-dark ruby red with cooler undertones and a satin sheen. It was intensely pigmented in a single layer–not really buildable at all, as it was intended to be!–with a smooth, creamy consistency that was slightly thicker than other shades in the range (not in a bad way).
The product applied evenly across my lips and “set” slightly a tackier, less emollient feel. This shade stayed on nicely for six and a half hours and felt moisturizing over time.

Formula Overview
$38.00/0.11 oz. - $345.45 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "satin vivid color with buildable coverage that stays all day long" (they claim "8 hour wear" without having to reapply). I found the coverage varied significantly from lighter to deeper shades, and shades with pearl and more luminosity to their finish tended to be sheerer, somewhat buildable, and were more prone to gathering in my lip lines.
More mid-tone and deeper shades tended to have a true satin finish--not too glossy but not matte--and had more semi-opaque to opaque coverage--so not so much buildable either. The texture was lightweight, creamy, and smooth without being too dense in the tube nor too emollient. I found that the formula felt glossier and more balm-like initially but seemed to set slightly to something that was a touch tacky, not emollient, and felt a little clingy in comparison to the original texture (not clingy in a bad way, for the most part!).
As expected, lighter, sheerer shades didn't wear as long or as well as more mid-tone and darker, satin-finish shades did. Lighter shades lasted between three and four hours, while darker shades lasted between four and six hours with only a few getting close to eight hours. The formula was comfortable to wear and lightly to moderately hydrating over time.

Four Hundred (400)
PPermanent. $38.00.
Fighter (403)
Giorgio Armani Fighter (403) Lip Power Satin Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a bright, medium red with neutral-to-warm undertones and a cream finish. It had medium, buildable color coverage (to mostly opaque with two to three layers) paired with a lightweight, lightly creamy texture that was thin but not clingy–at least initially–but eventually set to a less balmy feel that was a touch tacky. It wore well for five and a half hours and felt hydrating while worn.

Ciao, Giorgio! He really ought to get an A on his cult color, 400. All the dupes but one were As. Ironic, in a bad way. Kind of hope he does not reformulate the liquid lips. Maybe the issue is corner cutting due to financial pressure. Kind of sad. The liquids have been my most resisted product. It seems the upper high end (lower than ultra high end) has really suffered in the past few years. TF and MJB come to mind.
Four Hundred is such a glam shade of red. Too bad I will have to wait until no more mask wearing on buses, medical appointments, etc.
Armani does beautiful reds, but I think with the pinky undertones they would not work on me.
Red lipsticks makes me so happy. It’s a joy for me, just looking at them.
Both of these are beautiful, I’m happy I have dupes, but would gladly have these as well. Now I feel like a hoarder!
