Giorgio Armani #08 Gun Metal Eyes to Kill Solo
Giorgio Armani #08 Gun Metal Eyes to Kill Solo ($32.00 for 0.061 oz.) is a dark taupe brown with cool undertones and a satin finish. It looked a lot more shimmery in the pan than it did when it swatched! The consistency was silky but powdery, so it didn’t apply as evenly or with as much intensity as desired. I don’t notice the shortcomings as much when I applied it into the crease with a fluffier brush, but for lid application, it is more noticeable. This shade started to fade after eight hours of wear. Anastasia Deep Brown (LE) is darker. Marc Jacobs Beauty The Parisienne #6 (LE) is more shimmery. MAC Persuade (LE, $15.00) is lighter. Urban Decay Defy (LE, $18.00) is grayer. Burberry Graphite (No. 28) (P, $29.00) is darker, grayer. Charlotte Tilbury The Rock Chick #4 (P) is warmer. Make Up For Ever M620 Gray Brown (P, $21.00) is similar. bareMinerals Tide Pool (LE) is lighter. Too Faced Dolly (P, $16.00) is similar. Ulta Mink (P, $10.00) is similar. Chanel Mystere #4 (LE) is similar. MAC Najm el Lail (LE, $15.00) is warmer. MAC Double Feature #3 #2 (LE, $15.00) is similar. MAC Dance in the Dark (LE, $15.00) is warmer. MAC Legendary Black (DC, $21.00) is darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Giorgio Armani #14 Aurore Eyes to Kill Solo ($32.00 for 0.061 oz.) is a cool-toned,, rosy mauve with a frosted finish. It had good color payoff with a soft, blendable texture that was a smidgen powdery but very finely-milled. The color wore well for eight hours before fading. Chanel Utopia (96) (LE, $36.00) is a crema product. MAC A Medley of Mauves #1 (P, $21.00) is similar. MAC Pinkluxe #1 (P) is lighter, brighter. MAC Strawberry Patch (LE, $32.50) is more shimmery, darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Giorgio Armani #15 Parma Eyes to Kill Solo ($32.00 for 0.061 oz.) is a cool-toned, muted, medium purple with a satin finish. It had fairly good pigmentation with a very soft, silky, and finely-milled texture–that did kick up excess when used–which applied easily. This shade stayed on well for eight hours before fading. Make Up For Ever S836 Pink Ash (P, $21.00) is lighter. Givenchy Prune Taffetas (8) (P, $23.00) is a cream product. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

At this price point, Gun Metal and Parma need to be A’s. Gun Metal lacks oomph
I was very disappointed with #08 🙁
#14 and #15 are quite fetching!
They’re more unique shades!
The gunmetal gray, #8, is just awful looking. The other two are very pretty. For $32 each, they should all be As.
It’s just not the type of color that looks good uneven, lol!
Yeah, Gunmetal is like sooooo many other shades. Reminds me of Tarte. Parma, on the contrary is so unique snd pretty! But the thing is that I don’t know if I would ever reach for it at all. Still perdy.
Darn it, I was working on my order at NM… Now I feel like adding it. Is just so pretty!
I like that #14 and #15 were more unique, at least! A little more reason to justify the price, at least.
It’s funny, I like the fact that Gun Metal has less than great pigmentation – the fact that it’s lighter and less intense makes it an easier colour for me to wear. But I also feel that at this price point, the shadows should earn A ratings.
It’s so hard to justify singles at this price point when they aren’t perfect.
Firstly…your eyes have such a beautiful, interesting pattern on them..I always notice that in the close up shots and always admire it:) Don’t really need any of these colours but that look is pretty !
Aw, thank you Dee!
I was prepared to love the taupe colour, but after I saw the swatch – it looked really dry and muddy. So a pass for me. Very dupable shade.
Surprisingly dupable — thankfully!
These are pretty colors and all, but not worth the price whatsoever!
I really liked some of the first ones I tried, but I wasn’t as impressed with the ones I bought.
Totally drooling over the pink and the purple, but the price is higher than I’d normally pay for a single. Wish it was a duo 😉
I hear ya! $32 is very high for singles.
Aurore is quite pretty, I may have to check it out in store, though that price tag is still kind of ouch. Too bad, you can’t get it at Sephora. With the VIB coupon I just got I’d considered springing for it.
Gun Metal should have been prettier. I picked up MUFE’s Gunmetal last week. With my porcelain skin it actually pulls much cooler than it does on you and is what this Gun Metal *should* have been!
So glad you’re loving Gunmetal from MUFE!
Aurore looks really pretty. And so does Parma, though I wished it performed better.
They are nice shades!
Aurore and Parma are pretty colours! Gun Metal looked promisingin the pan, but the sheerness/patchiness is a bit of a letdown…
Gun Metal was a real bummer!
I’ve never tried any of Armani makeup – I’m thinking of starting with one of the foundations, does any one have any recommendations?
I love Maestro!
