Fyrinnae Wizards' Wedding Cake & Agenda Eyeshadows Reviews, Photos, Swatches

Fyrinnae Wizards' Wedding Cake Eyeshadow
Fyrinnae Wizards’ Wedding Cake Eyeshadow

Fyrinnae Wizards’ Wedding Cake Eyeshadow ($6.80 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “bold icy blue shimmer … set on a deep chocolate brown base.” It’s a warm, medium-dark brown base with a lot of blue shimmer on it, so it takes on a mauve-ish hue applied damp and then turns even purpler when applied over Pixie Epoxy, because the blue shimmer is brought forward. It had really nice color payoff both applied damp as well as over Pixie Epoxy, but the finish goes from satin to more pearled. I couldn’t think of anything quite like this, and part of that is due to the warmth from the base color coming through, so even though it is more of cool-toned shade, there’s still this underlying warmth that makes it difficult to dupe. NARS Marie Galante #2 is darker, lacks the warmth. NARS Demon Lover has a similar color to when the blue shimmer is most pronounced. MAC Grand Galaxy is lighter, purpler. bareMinerals Encore is purpler, no blue shimmer. See comparison swatches.

Agenda Eyeshadow ($6.80 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “multi-faceted neutral deep gray with a fine highlight of pink throughout). Applied damp, it has a purply-gray coloring with a very fine pink satin sheen–it looked almost matte if not for a few bits of sheen. Applied over Pixie Epoxy, it brightened the shade and gave it a pinker, slightly warmer, look. This shade was very pigmented, and I even used it dry and still had no issues getting full color payoff. The texture is very, very finely-milled, but it evens out well on the lid and doesn’t look powdery at all. It also blends out easily. NARS Flowers 3 #2 is lighter. NARS Flowers 2 #2 is similar to the damp color (without Pixie Epoxy). Benefit Rain Check is pinker, warmer. See comparison swatches.

Both shades applied well and had minimal fall out during application, as the textures allowed for the shadow to really be pressed and patted onto the skin and bind, rather than just brush and sheer out like some loose powders can. A little really does go a long way, whether applied dry, over your normal primer, with a damp brush, or over Fyrinnae’s Pixie Epoxy.  I wore these two shades together both over bare skin as well as over Pixie Epoxy, and I had no wear issues, as they lasted nine hours without creasing or fading.  Both my jars came very, very filled that they both looked domed and as if they were rising out of the jar, which did leave a bit of a mess on my table, so I’d recommend first opening them over a sink or a surface you can wipe down.

I love Wizard’s Wedding Cake <3 I think it's something about the purple, pink, and blue tones coming out that just make that shade work with everything. I didn't expect to love it because usually I'm not a fan of brown shades, but it just takes the cake 😛

I sent a message to the owner and she said Hitched got sold out Sunday night. I didn’t get hitched either but she assured me that they will keep up with the demands and it might be available next week.

I actually own a dupe for Wizard’s Wedding Cake. It’s a Kleancolor American Eyecon Baked Eyeshadow in Malt. It’s sheerer and the duochrome is less strong, but the payoff is much better when used wet. I think it’s a petty good eyeshadow, and it was $2.50 for 3g.

A small pharmacy where I live used to have a display of Kleancolor cosmetics. I have a few lipsticks and I like them, but their baked eyeshadows in specific are really good. They had two, the American Eyedol line, which is older, and the American Eyecon line which was the same colors but reformulated. The older line is okay, but the reformulated ones are great. I don’t know how they compare to higher-end eyeshadows since I don’t own any, but I definitely like them as much as my Wet ‘n’ Wild eyeshadows. The black one is an amazing liner when used wet.

I guess people don’t talk about them that much because Kleancolor isn’t very widely distributed. Even the pharmacy that had them here replaced the display with an N.Y.C. one, which made me sad. The baked eyeshadows are definitely hidden gems.

Kleancolor didn’t ring a bell, but American Eyedol/Eyecon seems very familiar; I think a small discount store carries this line. I have to check it out now, LOL!

I got Agenda as a sample in my last order, it is so pretty. I love Fyrinnae shadows because they always seem to glow on me, I dont know how else to explain it.
I just ordered Wizards’ Wedding Cake and a few other Arcane’s. Seriously, I have an obsession!! I love eye makeup and these are so affordable!

Heather Avatar

Wow I’m so glad you reveiwed these cause I just placed an order for fyrinnae and I passed over both of these because on the site they didnt look that impressive. Now I know I need them both and both of the pressed ones you reveiwed! I love the look you did with this!

Hmm..I think I like the swatch better than the actual application on the eyelids!
I love purples, but I don’t think this one is worth it to pick up 🙁

Wow, these look amazing! Christine, do you think these can wok on oily lids? What specific brushes worked for you here?

Erin Avatar

Wow, I’d never heard of this brand until you started reviewing it on here, but every eyeshadow you’ve swatched is gorgeous! It’s even a local brand, which is awesome. I think I might have to order some new makeup! 🙂

Andrea Avatar

I’ve been wanting to order from Fyrinnae for a couple of years now, and your recent reviews have pushed me to take the plunge! Unfortunately Hitched was sold out, but I snagged Unicorn and mini sizes of Wizards’ Wedding Cake, Agenda and six others!! 😡 Also Pixie Epoxy, haha. I hauled. >.<
Thanks for reminding me how awesome they are!

Andrea Avatar

Wicked, Purgatory, Fire Opal, Mephisto, Book of the Dead and Bastet. ^_^
Oh no! I hope your recent one doesn’t go MIA!! I’ve heard such good things about it, so excited to try it. 😀

Hey!

I just talked to Fyrinnae on Sunday night after connecting via Twitter. It sounds like there really shouldn’t be a major or noticeable difference in performance, mostly in how some shades look in the jar, but colors should be the same. Fyrinnae said that all should go “the slightest bit better” but not enough that you would really notice unless you owned the original and the reformulated version.

Each time I read one of your reviews on this brand, I think to myself “Ive got to try this!” but for some reason I just havent gotten around to it yet. The pictures in this post really do make me want to buy these though. the duochrominess (is that a word?) reminds me of the Kay von D eyeshadow singles they sell on Sephoras site . what really intrigued me about this post was your difficulty in finding dupes. I am always interested in unique colors so Wizard’s Wedding Cake really appeals to me!

Emily Avatar

Can anyone help me here…I’m really interested in checking out this brand and maybe purchasing some of their shadows (I absolutely love wizard’s wedding cake!) but when I go to their website nothing comes up besides a black screen. Is anyone else having this issue? I’m not sure if it’s just website maintenance or what (I’ve tried different browsers). I’m pretty positive I have the web address right http://www.fyrinnae.com/

Christine Avatar

Hey Emily!

That’s the right site, and I clicked your link (just in case!), and it loads up with their logo, a navigation menu on the left-hand side, along with a content area that talks about current shipping/wait times. Maybe try another browser?

Argh, I wish Wizards’ Wedding Cake was pressed so much. I really want the shade, but I know I’ll only bother with a loose shadow like once, and then it’ll get tucked into my traincase with the couple of other fyrinnae loose shades I’ve got.

And I like the idea of the collection. Maybe, I’ll just pick up Unicorn and the lip lustres. Have you tried the lip lustre formula yet? I haven’t decided if I like it or not yet, just that it’s interesting. Well, that and I bought Isis, which is good for when I really want something GOLD.

Christine Avatar

I hear ya! I prefer pressed myself (it’s just way easier for me, and frankly, Fyrinnae’s pressed seems to be just as good/nuanced as loose, so…).

I’m trying a few right now 🙂 I think I might have bought Isis last order, but I can’t remember – I know it’s not one I’m testing though, but I have a couple that still need to be photographed (I try to do 2-3 shades of a formula and move on, so there’s a better variety of what’s on the blog).

Emily Avatar

Can anyone help me here? I’m really interested in purchasing some shadows from Fyrinnae but I’m having trouble getting on their website. I realize that they are down from time to time, but I can’t get on their site at all – even when others can! I just get a completely black screen. Does anyone else have this issue or know what’s going on? Please help I must get me some Fyrinnae!

Christine Avatar

Hey Emily!

I’m not sure why that is, but these would be my two ways to try and fix any kind of weird website issue (for any site!):

1.) Clear browsing history/cache in case it’s just showing you what was there, but not what’s there now
2.) Try another browser
