Welcome to Free For Haul Friday!
- Haul: Chanel spring collection, Sephora + Pantone Universe collection, Anastasia eyeshadows
- Weekend plans: Enjoy any sunshine that may find its way to me. It’s been a dreary week, so I’ll be happy for a little break of sunshine (even though rain is needed and good!).
- What’s your favorite type of accessory?: Earrings π
Share your pet photos to the Temptalia Pets flickr group! π
Haul: I worked crazy long hours the last three weeks of December so this is actually a four week haul.
From NARS: Audacious lipsticks in Greta, Vera, Audrey, Leslie and Kelly. I also grabbed a Killer Shine lipstick in No Shame, which is so perfect I am fighting the urge to buy a back up even though I’ve never finished a lipstick in my life, lol. Seriously, the Audacious lipsticks are all so good that every time I get a new one, I think I won’t ever use another brand again. These are all great shades.
Colourpop: shadows in Amaze, Bae, Boyband, Dance Party, DGAF, Disco Ball, Gameface, Glitterati, Hustle, Rhinestone, and So Quiche.
Ulta: Dip brow (finally! And I love it!!), Too Faced Hangover Primer, Urban Decay Smoked palette, and Urban Decay 24/7 lipliner in Catfight.
This week from Sephora: the Pantone watercolor eyeshadow palette, Bite Beauty lab limited lipstick in that Mango color, Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Sabbath, and a Nars shadow stick that is black with flecks of olive gold sparkle (I can’t remember the name but it is gorgeous!).
Right now I am fighting hard against the urge to drop $195 on Amorepacific’s Age defense moisturizer. Been using samples this week and I don’t think I can live without it. It makes my skin look so good that I don’t want to wear any foundation, and that’s saying something, considering I’m 50!
I wish NARS would put out some new Audacious shades! I feel like it’s a great formula with a lot of fans, but the range hasn’t had any expansions!
Haul: L’Oreal Colour Riche Monos Eye Shadows and Lumi Cushion foundation.
Weekend plans: Filming and taking down the tree.
Whatβs your favorite type of accessory? Scarfs…. yah scarfs. I love all my jewelry but I’m to lazy most days to put them on. lol I loved to wear Earrings but my skin to reactive to any piercing materiel. π₯
I was going to ask if you had a chance to try the Monos, but I see right there in the CommentLuv, LOL!
LOVES THEM! OMG! I haven’t tried any but the 3 shades, but they are the bomb for the matte formula. I’ll probably wait for a sale to pick up more shades, but these 3 have been integrated with my daily makeup… O__o
Ani_BEE, have you tried niobium in your ears?
No…. that’s new.
I’ve tried every grade of gold, nickel free, silver grades, surgical steel, and plastic (although I think at that point my skin was reacting to anything touching the piercing).
This was when I was 8 and it was 4+ months of earlobe agony that my doctor just said no more too.
Titanium was another metal people have mentioned to me the past year or so….
I have a severe nickel allergy, to the point where my skin bubbles and comes off.
Niobium is very pure and non-reactive, and soft and non-abrading. A lot of people who can’t wear anything else can wear it.
The problem with a lot of jewelry, including gold and silver, is that the solder used on the posts often has nickel and other base metals in them. Also, most brands of “nickel-free” jewelry also make jewelry with nickel, and use the same facilities and drying racks. There can be enough nickel transfer to set off an allergy.
Simply Whispers is great if you haven’t tried them yet. They make ONLY nickel-free jewelry, and they carry costume and silver and gold.
Titanium is very good, too, and a little easier to find than Niobium, though Niobium is softer and less reactive yet.
I absolutely adore the Mellan pics, right up with your invaluable cosmetics reviews. I was naughty and broke down and bought 2 items from the new Chanel collection without waiting for your review, the blush and teal shadow, both are brilliant for me, and at least I did not buy the ENTIRE collection, which would have been my usual MO with Chanel and the new SA they have who is beyond fabulous.
Thank you so much π
I’m happy to hear you’re enjoying the two pieces you picked up!
I have been loving the rain we have been getting! I could do this for another week… HaHa
Haul: Nothing. On a low buy but I’m really interested in the Chanel spring blush so we will se what you have to say about it.
β’Weekend plans: Go through the Christmas decorations in the garage and sort/organize/donate them. Trying to declutter the house. We also may drive up to Flagstaff this weekend to play in the snow.
β’Whatβs your favorite type of accessory?: You mean besides makeup? I love a good looking watch.
lol! I don’t like cold, dreary, or wet weather (in general), though I’m happy the region is getting the much-needed rain as well. I couldn’t believe how long it was just pouring here, as I didn’t expect such sustained rain in AZ!
Oh we normally get rain this time of year including March/April and then the monsoons in Aug/Sept. We can get some heavy duty rain and flash flooding. I couldn’t do this weather all the time but it’s such a nice break from the beating sun. Just wait, this week the suns coming back out and with all the rain everything will start to turn green again. Just an FYI… If you have a yard spray for weeds this weekend. Those suckers come out with a vengeance after a good rain.
Thank you for the spraying tip, Mindy!! π
Haul: NYX micro-brow, NYX HD Blush in the shade ‘Bitten’ (verdict: meh, it’s alright… I couldn’t find many reviews on it so I took a chance; love the colour but it’s a little too pigmented on the brush so a light hand is needed), Maybelline Maple Kiss.
Weekend plans: Get ready for school, my semester starts this week ): On the plus side, I’m still on vacation and looking for a medium pink eyeshadow so the hunt for that should be fun. I’m eyeing MAC’s Sushi Flower, the Naked 3 palette and the new Chocolate Bon Bons palette. We’ll see how it goes!
Fave accessory: Earrings and rings!
Is it just the pigmentation that’s bumming you out about the Bitten blush, Kimberly?
More like it tends towards splotchiness if i’m not careful. Serves me right, shoulda gone with another Cheek Pop lol! But i got too excited when I saw a Nyx standalone store (they’re non-existent where i live)
Ahhh, gotcha! Aw!
haul: Maybelline super stay 24 in constantly Cabernet and Maybelline vivid matte liquid lipstick in possessed plum. I keep walking into CVS for other things and being distracted by cosmetics …
weekend plans: mostly relaxing, maybe see a movie or something
favorite accessories: definitely jewelry of any sort. in the winter I wear hats/scarves/gloves but that’s mostly for practicality not style
CVS will be happy to know their displays are working, lol!
That picture of Mellan is great! Happy New Year, Christine!
Haul: It Cosmetics blush in Matte Candy Apple and cream illuminator, Tony Moly banana face wash and hand cream, Clinique Chubby Sticks set of three (Marshall’s find!), two of the new Milani mascaras
Weekend plans: It’s been raining like crazy down here in SoCal, too. Looks like it’s supposed to ease off until Tuesday or so. I like the rain – it’s a nice change – but I don’t like driving in it! No weekend plans, really…
Whatβs your favorite type of accessory?: I’m not much for accessories, but probably earrings, as well. And hair clips.
Happy new year, Pteetsa !:)
How do you like Tony Moly? have you tried that brand before?
Hehe, my dog used to lie like that. This actually reminds me that I had a dream about her last night. Didn’t remember until I saw this Mellan picture. I miss my Lenka π
Haul: Lotsa MAC stuff from the new collections!
Weekend plans: Relax, hopefully! After the craaaaazy holiday break we had we need it. Ironic, right?
Whatβs your favorite type of accessory?: Bracelets!
Aww π She is missed and loved!
Aww, tickle tickle Mellan!!
**Haul – my Ulta order from Christmas finally came! Got 20% off Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara, IT Velvet LBD Foundation brush (backup), IT Fan Brush, NYX Proof It Shadow Primer, and Cover Girls Tru Naked Shadow Palette in Roses ( suppose to be a dupe for UD Naked 3, but this will probably be a return. I saw 2 rave reviews from trusted bloggers, but mine doesn’t look or perform like the reviews, so maybe there’s a QC issue. Mine is still better than the average DS shadow, but I need better, and the pigment/formula is definitely not the same as UD’s)
**Weekend- more spring cleaning
**Favorite Accessory – so my makeup (bold eyes or bold lips) is my accessory
**Christine, if you’re interested…….City Color Cosmetics is having a winter blow -you can get a bundle of 4 Shimmer Shadows for $ 20 (instead of $28). There’s a blue/ teal/emerald green/mint bundle you might like π
LOL! I bought City Color last week, shortly after your FFHF. Not here yet, though π
What are the big things you tackle for spring cleaning?
Yay!!! Hope you like them! We’re like 3 years behind on spring cleaning, but I want to get at least a couple of closets done and some more makeup sorted/organized.
The big upside to moving is it totally forced us to get rid of (donate) a lot of things, because anything we kept meant one more thing to pack, lol!
Haul: LancΓ΄me HypnpΓ΄se Dazzling eyeshadow in Songe CuivrΓ©, Klorane Leave-in treatment with mango butter, a set of Nuxe minis.
Weekend plans: same as yours Christine! It’s been raining non-stop this week in San Diego and I’m so happy to see some sun today! Otherwise, relaxing, playing games with friends, and probably sending job applications.
Favorite accessory: I don’t wear much in terms of jewelry or accessories, but I’d say scarves.
Have a great weekend everyone!
How do you like the new Lancome eyeshadow, Lulle?
Ahh, I’m happy for the rain, but I am not really one for rain, so the little breaks make me so happy. But I know we need that rain!
Haul: I managed to get three of the UD Gwen lipsticks before they were taken off the site yesterday. I bought Ex-Girlfriend, Wonderland, and Spiderweb. I also ordered the UD Vice Reloaded this morning! Now I have to be good for a while!
Weekend Plans: I’ll be doing a lot of reading for my grad classes and also doing some work. Lots to get done! The beginning of the semester is always crazy. Tonight I am going to a drag show with one of my friends and getting dinner, so that’ll be my last hoorah before cracking down!
Favorite Accessory: This is a tough one! I think necklaces. I am a huge Betsey Johnson fan so her necklaces are always stand-out pieces.
Awesome! Can’t wait for you to get your new goodies, Marina!
Oooh, Spiderwebs and Ex-Girlfriend!!! Lucky you, those are on my “to get” list!
Haul: so, I just went to Sephora to check the amount on a gift certificate I was given – honestly, I was NOT going to buy anything…really (well, if they’d received that new Tarte Tease palette, which I said I wasn’t going to buy, I’d probably have bought that, as I’ve changed my mind). Anyway, as I waited in line, I saw a travel size of the Shu Uemura cleansing oil that Christine mentioned the other day. Shu products are few and far between at Sephoras in Canada so I bought that. Then I went to Shoppers Drug Mart because they had a deal and all you had to spend was $30 on cosmetics (come on – how hard is THAT?) so I picked up another Clarins Raspberry Gloss Prodige and an Annabelle twist up pencil eyeshadow. I did also get a body souffle at B&BW because they had so much stuff marked down by 75% so it was hard to resist!
Weekend plans: Bollywood dance class tomorrow (in preparation for our trip to India for a wedding next month – most of the guests coming from Canada – there are close to 50 of us – will be at the dance class and it should be a riot. I need to shop for a few more outifits as well so we’ll hit the area of Toronto with lots of Indian shops before we go to the class.
Favourite type of accessory – scarves/shawls/pashminas – they are such a great way to add colour and pattern to my otherwise subdued wardrobe AND they’re practical as well (if it’s chilly, I wrap up in one; if it’s raining, I can keep my hair dry by tossing a large scarf over my hair and shoulders).
I could see the Tartelette Tease palette working for you, Mariella. At least it’s not too pricey!
I can’t believe your trip to India is right around the corner! How long will you be going for again?
Just under 2 weeks. The wedding is 3 days plus some parties and things that the bride’s family is holding to welcome all the Canadians who are coming. After the festivities, folks are all doing different things. Some of our friends are staying for 3 weeks or more and will be touring a fair bit. We’re just travelling the “Golden Triangle” – Jaipur (which I really want to visit), Agra and then back to New Delhi. It’s quite exciting but so much organizing and also remembering stuff like not drinking anything but bottled water (how easy it is to forget and just drink a glass of water or brush my teeth with tap water…)
How fun! I’m so excited for you! π
Hahaha! Love that picture of Mellan! The definition of bliss.
Haul: Sephora Colorful 5 Eyeshadow Palette in Mild to Wild Khaki. E.l.f. Hydrating Under Eye Primer. Walgreen’s sale — Wet N Wild Fergie Center Stage Collection Photo Focus Eyeshadow in Camouflage Couture; Jordana Modern Matte Lipstick in Matte Bare and Matte Frappucino; Intense i-Color Volume Mascara in Black Plum.
Weekend plans: Take down the Christmas tree. Now that the ground is thawed, have a burial and little service for our bunny. He passed away last weekend and the poor thing is currently wrapped up and in our chest freezer. We need to say goodbye and put his things away until we get another pet.
Whatβs your favorite type of accessory?: Earrings for me, too. I have 11 piercings in my left ear and 12 in my right. I have hundreds of earrings.
So sorry to hear about your bunny, Rachel! I can only imagine how difficult losing a beloved pet must be. Sending good vibes your way!
Thank you. He was a beautiful, smart, loving member of the family. We miss him a lot.
Oh gosh, Rachel, I am so sorry about you losing your pet bunny! I had meant to tell that when I read this, and then I stupidly told myself to jump back on the next day, but didn’t. Then couldn’t remember which post that you wrote it on! Anyway, I know it’s very sad losing a beloved furbaby. ?
Thank you, Nancy. <3
Seriously PERFECT pic of Mellan for Friday – I think i made that same face when I got done work today! What a cutie!
Haul: Pretty proud of myself this week since I stopped myself from pulling the trigger on several releases…that ultimately ended up getting bad reviews (i.e. Dior Blue Gardens). I am going to try to make it through the weekend w/o buying the YSL Boho Stones palette unless I get a really great deal or it’s reviewed.
QVC (Todayβs Special Value): Laura Geller The Art of Flawless 5pc. Color Set with Bag (Double Take Baked Versatile Powder Foundation in Fair, Baked Gelato Illuminator in Rose Glow, Lashes Eyelash Primer in Black, Lip Oil Tint in Hibiscus Pink, All Over Face Brush, Bag). I really wanted to try LGβs new full coverage wet/dry foundation, the exclusive illuminator, and the new lip oil which are currently only available through QVC. I’m curious how the lip oil compares to the YSL Tint in Oil. (I prefer to order directly from LG or Ulta bc of their loyalty programs but had to go QVC for the products and price.) Her eyelash primer is the best Iβve tried regardless of price. I’m planning on trying the foundation and illuminator on Saturday.
Beauty.com (Clearance): NARS NARSissist Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow Palette (I debated and debated but when I also got an additional $20 off, making the cost $43, I figured it would be a nice addition since they’re basic shades that got good reviews when the palette was released), Deluxe Ahava Mineral Body Lotion, 3 Free Samples
Zoya (4 Free Deal): Shades Ordered – Heather, Kelly, Carey, Evvie…you can’t beat “free” nail polish! Technically with shipping I suppose you pay $3.75 but for Zoya, that’s great.
Weekend plans: I can’t do much since Trouble still is recovery from surgery and has the Cone of Shame on. I don’t like to leave him alone with Kat. I do have to run an errand with my daughter Saturday morning though. Otherwise, I’m going to try to do my weekly mani…possibly going to use YSL Peace Green.
Whatβs your favorite type of accessory? The best accessory for anyone is a great smile. Short of that, I’m on board with you for a nice pair of earrings. Runners up would be a nice scarf or hat.
Ha, ha!
A new illuminator in a set? BOOOOOO! That’s the worst, lol!
I think the Dual Intensity Eyeshadow palette for $43 is a great deal, Michele!
I tried the foundation this morning using the wet application and hated it. It came out ridiculously uneven. I was able to go over it with the La Roche-Posay BB (a new fav now apparently no longer available at Ulta). I’m going to try it tomorrow using the dry application method. If it fails, I’m giving it away. The Rose Glow illuminator, however, is gorgeous! I used it as a highlighter and also on my eyes with liner and mascara for a natural eye look. It applied easily, blends well, and doesn’t highlight my pores or fine lines. I think the shade will be stunning on any skin tone so it’s definitely a winner. I’m unsure as to when it will be available at Ulta, Laura Geller directly, beauty.com, and other sites that carry her products but when it is, I highly recommend it. Thinking of trying out the new NARS palette tomorrow and the tint in oil.
Well, at least one thing came out nicely! π
I really hope it will become available individually as well!
The Lip Oil was every bit as good as the YSL Tint in Oil. I’m hoping this comes out in other shades.
Cute Mellan pic!
Haul: Thanks to reader Wendy a got this amazing Bobbi Brown brush for gel/cream liner. I”ve only used it once. but I love it! Also, Becca Ultimate Creme liner( Wendy’s suggestion also) and it’s equally fabulous. Also, I picked up my stuff from the MAC Faerie Whispers collection, both highlighters form the Dior spring collection, KVD metal crush in Danzig, Iggy, Thunderstruck,&Doce..now I got the metal crush fever! OMG those are fabulous. I wounder if she is going to expand the color selection and add some keyed downed neutrals.
Weekend plans: not sure yet. My nephews Birthday party is Sun . and I will be helping with that. Other than that, usual errands and chores.
My favorite accessories are necklaces! A friend of mine recently introduced me to Stella & Dot. OMG, IDK whether to thank her or kick her in the shin! I’m thinking of selling for them I love their stuff so much and I’m not a selling type of person!
Happy weekend all! π
Wendy knows her stuff π
Metal Crush are amazing!!
Have a blast at your nephew’s birthday party π
IGGY!!! ?? I’m wearing it today as part of a double liner look with Sephora Go For A Ride as a much thinner line, and a molten copper lid look!!!
Ohh nice…that sounds killer Nancy! I’m going to “borrow” that look! I wound up picking up Thrasher today too! I”m hooked!
It’s scary, so am I! Thunderstruck may be next…and I had sworn that I would never buy from this brand. But this green is just too perfect, and the only other one better tgan it would have meant dealing with eBay and that possibility of getting a counterfeit.
Now I’m dying to know which brush this is! I’m always on the lookout for a newer/better/still BETTER brush for cream and gel liners! Nicole, can you describe it (I think her brushes don’t have numbers, just names, but I’m now interested to check this one out).
Mariella, It’s the Bobbi brown Ultra Precise Eyeliner brush,$28. I found it on Nordstrom.com. The brush is thin and tapered to a point and has a cap.Hope that helps! π
Haul: Sleek Makeup “Storm” i-Divine palette plus some of their pencils
Weekend plans: try to recuperate from a terrible infection that has blocked my airways and ears ???
Whatβs your favorite type of accessory?: earrings as well. I used to do jewellery professionally but I am always adding things to my stash π I need to start organizing my jewellery…
Storm! Yes!!
I have no doubt that it will be worth the money but any chance of a swatch/review post some day? π
I love when dogs sleep on their back! Stubbs does it a lot. Mellan is so cute, dear boy!
Haul, nothing, I did order and got some hand creme, I have super dry hands so I need a lot of lotions and cremes for my hands, I try to find a relly good one. Still on that quest though.
Weekend, doing laundry, clean, nothing fun, relax a bit.
Favourite type of accessory, hard question. I always wear rearings, but most of the time the same ones. I think it’s things that goes around the neck, scarves, necklaces.
Mellan never used but has changed his ways in the last couple of years!
Poor hands. Mine sympathize. I’m trying to put a cream in every room so I can remember to use them!
I also have handcream tubes in every room, sometimes even more than one, one in different parts of the room.
Haul: I was good this week! I picked up one IT eyeshadow brush from Ulta, and that’s it.
Weekend plans: helping my daughter and her fiancΓ© pack up some of her furniture and keepsakes from the house. Yay, more room!
Favorite accessory: earrings for me too. I just buzzed my hair off short, so they are on display again. ?
Which IT brush was that?
The angled shadow crease brush 117. It’s great for hitting the outer corner with a little bit of color when I want a quick eye look.
BTW, that shot of Mellan would be a perfect candidate for upsidedowndogs.com! He’s so cute. ?
I didn’t even know this site existed!
Haul: I got the First Aid Beauty Winter Hydration Kit, which has their cleanser, ultra repair cream, and night cream for half the price of buying them on their own (yaay!) and then I ran out of my serum so I got 2 from FAB, the anti-redness one for the morning and the hydration one for the evening. I also threw in another of the Sephora Matte Lip Creams in 07 Cherry Blossom.
Weekend plans: That is a good question. We’ll see?
Whatβs your favorite type of accessory?: If we’re talking jewelry, probably my watch (it’s a modern minimalist one from Skagen) or necklaces, as I’m too finicky when it comes to bracelets and rings, and I don’t have my ears pierced (yet). If we’re talking clothing, probably scarves. I have waaaay too many.
Sounds like someone might be a First Aid Beauty fan π I have a big ol’ pot of the Ultra Repair Cream that I haven’t tried yet. Have you tried that one before?
I hadn’t even tried the brand until those Sephora Black Friday $10 deals, but I got both of the FAB ones and they blew me away! The Ultra Repair Cream is one of my favorites of their line. It’s the first moisturizer I’ve found that sinks in without feeling greasy but still is really good at hydrating. I like it for both my face and my body too, which is rare for me.
I think Mellon has claimed this day bed for his own! He looks really comfortable here.
Haul: the Pedi roller for feet. As it is summer here (and a hot one), my feet need a little more love…
Weekend plans: household chores.
Favourite accessories: necklaces
Sadly, I kind of bought it just so we could snuggle together in my office more comfortably, lol!
What a silly puppy!
Haul: Ooh way more goodies than I should have! Well, I did have some gift cards… I got MAC Mylar and Bamboo eyeshadows and MAC Brow Set in Show Off (all in the goodbye section). Makeup Geek blushes in Romance and Spell Bound (my first two MUG blushes!). From Sephora, I got the Becca Backlight primer, Laura Mercier loose setting powder, and a gift set of 2 beauty blenders with a bottle of cleanser. I think the Becca primer might go back, bizarrely it made my skin look super dry and my foundation flake off! I’m going to give it another shot, but it was so weird and very disappointing.
Weekend plans: I’m working all day tomorrow, then on Sunday I’m working in the morning then going out to meet some of my mom’s fiancΓ©’s friends, which should be nice! I’ve never met them before but my mom has gotten really close to them. I’m also transferring to a different bank because I’m done with my bank’s nonsense, so I have to get all of my information ready for that.
Favorite type of accessory: I don’t really wear jewelry at all, although I should because I have a decent amount. I have a really pretty bamboo and white leather watch that I wear sometimes that goes with pretty much everything I own!
I can’t believe Bamboo is being discontinued π I felt like I there was NO WAY that could be true!
I feel that way about Mylar!
I am in love with Bamboo, I’ve worn it every single day since it arrived. The only thing I’m sad about is how long it took me to cave and buy it. MAC is really hit or miss with eyeshadows for me, and this is one of the best ones I’ve ever used from them. Mylar is great too, I don’t have anything exactly like it in my stash. I might go pick up a few backups of Bamboo if they still have pans left at any of my area stores, because I know I’m going to burn through it like lightning. Why does MAC do this to us? π
Why indeed!?! They DC’d their Crystal eyeshadow this summer, and now Bamboo, Folie, Nehru??? I need b/u’s!!! ?
Haul: Living Proof Curl Conditioning Wash and Curl Detangling Rinse. They feel different from similar products — the conditioning wash does not lather *at all*, or feel like it’s doing much of anything really, and the detangling rinse has very little slip, but they did a good job of getting my hair clean (without being stripped) and detangled and conditioned.
Weekend plans: baking, cooking, reading, knitting, listening to music. Downton Abbey. No sunshine headed our way, unfortunately.
Favorite type of accessory: oh, dear! I love earrings, scarves and hats and gloves (hand-knit and purchased), bags, necklaces, and crazy hand-knit socks. And hair sticks and forks. And scarf pins (especially penannular pins and fibulae). And other pins. And watches. I really wouldn’t want to have to choose just one. Accessories is just too big of a category!
Nice to hear that despite it not feeling like it was cleaning that it actually cleaned. It’s always been hard for me to use non-lathering soaps on my hair, because it just feels wrong, lol!
I know what you mean! But they can be gentler on your hair. If I have a lot of product to wash out of my hair, I’ll pre-treat with coconut oil (which dissolves product while conditioning hair) and then use a moisturizing shampoo to wash everything out; if I mostly need to clean my scalp and and oily roots, I’ll use a cleansing conditioner. But, I baby my hair because I keep it pretty long (currently waist-length).
I’ve been using Acure, which doesn’t lather much, but my hair doesn’t smell or feel particularly greasy, so I just assume it’s doing a good job, lol!
Yes, if your hair feels clean and smells clean, it’s clean! Lather isn’t necessary for getting things clean, it just feels nice π
LOL Great photo to make me smile after a very loooong day.. My dog Bernice pulls this ‘I’m so happy I’m dancing on my back’ routine too π Every time I see her do it that annoyingly bubbly ‘happy’ song they play on Pix 11 pops in my head.
Haha! Glad Mellan isn’t the only one who does that. He never used to sleep on his back, but he’s started to do it quite frequently in the last few years, lol.
Haul: Nothing this week! π I have the whole extension of the Bite Beauty matte creme lip crayons in my Sephora basket though π
Weekend plans: brunch, relax, homework, and my friend turns 30 on Sunday so her bday party tomorrow night
Whatβs your favorite type of accessory?: I love it all! Rings! Necklaces! Earrings! π
The question is when will you press that place order button π
Haul: MUFE Artist Palette Vol.3, Belif Winter Moisture Land Set.
Weekend Plan: We have Children’s Day on this week,so just spoiled my nephews and niece around. take care of 5 childrens can be the mass up of the day to me when they know how to be bratty when they want to. lucky for them that they’re cute π just hope their parents will come before they begin to have a fight over the front seat on my car.
Whatβs your favorite type of accessory?: necklace and earrings!
lol! Five, oh my goodness. I cannot even fathom how much work that would be!
Love how goofy Mellan looks in the pic! I love a dog with a good sense of humour!
Haul: Beauty blender and soap set using my Birchbox UK points. BareMinerals The Royal Court cheek palette – got it direct from their UK website for only Β£16.75 in their Last Chance sale! Sephora haul: Sephora Favourites Quench Your Skin set and Sephora Favourites Beauty Sleep, with loads of samples, including 2 I got from being a Beauty Insider. Lovely jubbly!
Plans for weekend: My fiancΓ© and I are going out with friends on Sat night, we’ve all had babies around the same time (10 in all, in about a year!) so it’s the first chance to go out as a group. They’re more my fiance’s friends from uni and their girlfriends/wives so I don’t really know them, have only met them a couple of times.
Favourite accessories: I love my watches, I love how they are both beautiful and functional and such a clever little piece of engineering. At the moment I’ve got a functional Pebble Steel smartwatch which is very useful as I’m deaf, but I have quite a few nice analogue watches that I wear when my Pebble needs charging or when I go out.
He is a clown (and a ham!).
10 babies! What! Congrats on getting everyone out together while they’re all wee ones, lol!
Only our furbabies seem to enjoy their own contorted, bizarre sleeping positions! LoL!
Haul: Just Nyx Control Freak Brow Gel (I got curious, finally!), and another Nyx Incredible Waterproof Concealer in 04 Beige (stuff hides my rosacea and dark spots ALL day, once its been set with powder) and OPI Super Star Status n.p.
Weekend plans: Hair and nails, plus having to deal with a mountain of laundry! Meeting on Sunday.
Favorite accessories: Hmmm, the little bit of jewelry I wear, I love, get compliments on them all the time. So then, my nameplate necklace, fairly large hoops & back studs, and my 2 silver rings. They are a constant in a life that’s always changing.
They do! He is upside down all the time these days.
What powder do you use to set the NYX concealer?
Yesterday, I found my big guy, Scunci on his back (again!), but this time his mouth was open, and it didn’t look like he was breathing! I’m like, “Scunci? Bubby, are you okay?”, nothing, so I rub his tummy panicking, he wakes up, yawns, looks at me like I’m nuts, and walks away!!!
I used to set it with either WnW Coverall powder or Nyx HD Powder, but lately, my go-to has been WnW Reserve Your Cabana.
Mellan looks so blissful in this photo! How has he been doing? Has he finally adjusted to his new home? (I looks like he has!)
Haul: The Tartelette Tease palette and the Too Faced Melted Metal in Metallic Jelly.
Weekend plans: Going to the hospital for x-rays (how exciting!) is the priority. Every other aspect of my weekend is dependent upon that outcome.
Whatβs your favorite type of accessory?: Bracelets and scarves.
He is definitely still anxious if we leave, but when we are around, you’d never think anything was amiss!
Fingers crossed your x-ray goes OK!
Haul: My stuff from my “Christmas” finally came in! I’m looking forward to it. I’m feeling the urge to haul but it’s just because Sephora has some good freebies and double points on skincare. Well that and the 5 palettes and myriad of lip products I want. I really should be looking for decent foundations π
Weekend plans: Distraction. I have 2 funerals on Saturday and I can’t make it to either. My hubby is out of town so there will be some TV catch up and pup adventures. I already spent 3 hours at the dog park Friday to keep me busy.
Fave accessory: Handbags I think. I love jewelry but most of what I like is outside my price range!
Glad you are finding some ways to stay busy Erin! I know you’re going through a tough time right now. π
Could Mellan be more cute?
Haul: Chanel Sinkiss Ribbnon Blush Harmony ($57 CAD) and a Lancome Visionnaire Christmas skincare set that came with a bonus gift and then the beauty advsor threw in a full-size Lancome eye cream, which I gave to my mom (along with the multi-level points she earned from my purchase (Shoppers Drug Mart). We felt like bandits leaving the store.!
Weekend Plans: Hang out with family, watch hockey and playoff football.
Fave Accessory: I don’t feel ready without earrings (and a slick of lipstick). My watch is a functional must.

Weekend plans: Working on my project and I want to watch the new Cinderella movie.
Whatβs your favorite type of accessory?: I loooove tube scarves! But I wear those mostly because it’s cozy and warming.
Your own highlighter formula! How cool. What direction are you going in for it?
I’m making a creamier powder formula, the first shade is a light warm golden with peach undertones π It’s been so much fun so I definitly have to make more shades later!
Happy New Year Christine and gorgeous Mellan!!!
Haul: Cashed in my Christmas Sephora gift card from my Mom and got a ton of sale items – Too Faced’s Beautifully Blushed and Bronzed (I’m probably the only person happy it’s so small to fit better into my overstuffed makeup case), Besame’s holiday packaged brightening face powders in Vanilla and Violet, Nude Skincare’s Triple Skin Rescue kit, Sephora’s huge Sun Disk bronzer, a Pinch Provisions Mini Emergency Kit, Buxom Full Bodied lipsticks in Rogue and Swinger, the Jem lipstick in Truly, Truly, the MUFE Artist Plexi-Gloss Kit with four colors and a wristlet, Dinoplatz’s holiday gloss kit with Spilled Wine, Beet Jam and Pinky Pie, Bite’s lipstick duo in Confection/Marmalade cause it looked smashing on you Christine and all the other colors were sold out, and I redeemed some points for Bobbi Brown’s Skincare mini kit. Also went in with my Macy’s gift card from my in laws with the Anastasia Lustrous Lip Gloss set, another Bobbi Brown skincare on the fly set (mad I ordered it twice by mistake) and Too Faced’s Le Petit Tresor.
Weekend Plans: Mall today with my friend and doing some OT for work later, cleaning up the house, cooking, meal prepping and attending service tomorrow.
