Flower Beauty Bubbly Blush Bomb Review & Swatches

Bubbly
Flower Beauty Bubbly Blush Bomb ($9.99 for 0.3 oz.) is a light, bubblegum pink with subtle, cool blue undertones and a natural sheen. It had buildable coverage that ranged from sheer with one layer and medium with two to three layers–a lot of it depended on how much product one applied. The squeeze tube made it particularly easy to squeeze out the smallest amount possible, which was a nice touch, and made it very controllable. The consistency was lightweight, more like a thin gel as it wasn’t watery but glided easily over my skin. It applied well over bare skin as well as over base products (like liquid foundation) without lifting up product. I didn’t have any issues applying and blending out the color for an even, diffused application using my fingertips. It wore well for eight hours on me before fading noticeably.

The formula is supposed to have "buildable" coverage with a "natural looking" finish that "blends seamlessly" and is "non-staining." They have a gel-like consistency--more liquid-like but with more substance, a little less watery in feel--that plays better with base products than more water-like liquid/cream blushes. This type of gel texture seems to smooth over base products without lifting them up in my experience. I found the texture easy to apply over bare skin or base products with fingertips or synthetic brushes (though I tend to use fingertips for ease and because they're faster to clean between swatches!). They dried down for the most part but remained more natural to dewy in finish, which was the best of both worlds -- the sheen of liquid and cream products but without a bunch of slip-and-slide during wear.
The pigmentation ranged from shade to shade, though they were all buildable, but a couple of shades, like Bitten (deeper berry), were shades where a little went a long way; they were more semi-opaque to opaque in coverage with sheer coverage being possible by using a very small amount of product. The wear ranged from eight to nine hours before the color started to fade noticeably.

That clear applicator tip is genius. I don’t usually go in for dewy finishes, but it works well with this pink.
Cute! Too cool a pink for me, but I’m taking notes on good-looking gel or liquid blushes for the day when I’m comfortable going without foundation. After my first round of IPL, I can see the light at the end of that tunnel. Flower Beauty is now at the top of my list for blushes to try out … soon!
Fingers crossed for much success with your IPL treatments!! So happy one treatment has already showed such promise 🙂
It’s a very cute shade. I appreciate the gel-like consistency and the controllable dispenser.
Even though it isn’t a shade for me, the finish does look lovely.
I love the Flower Beauty Blush Bombs; I have three! They look intimidating, but they blend out beautifully and you have a lot of time to work with them. They together well, too.
