Fenty Beauty Private Island Sun Stalk'r Bronzer Review & Swatches
Private Island
Fenty Beauty Private Island Sun Stalk’r Instant Warmth Bronzer ($30.00 for 0.22 oz.) is a light-medium brown with warm, yellow-orange undertones and a matte finish. The color payoff was opaque–a little went a long way–so it was far from buildable and could only be built up by using a very light hand and a less-dense brush (same technique that works with other pigmented products). The powder had a smooth, finely-milled texture but was more firmly-pressed in the pan, so there was no powderiness and was easier to control. It applied well to my bare skin, blended out with little effort, and stayed on well for eight hours on me.
(The slight unevenness that is present is my fault as I have some post-acne marks that are still fading, and as I apply foundation around but not on my cheeks directly, they are coming through.)

Formula Overview
$30.00/0.22 oz. - $136.36 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "long-wear" that is "transfer-resistant," "easy to blend, and "light-as-air" with buildable coverage that "is hard to overdo." The pigmentation was more medium to semi-opaque with some shades being nearly opaque in a single layer. For truly buildable pigmentation, I would recommend using a light hand initially or a less-dense brush to pick up and to apply the product.
The texture was lightweight, thin, and finely-milled without being too powdery, which did make it easier to control to build up coverage. Some shades were more blendable than others but none were difficult to work with. As these had a true matte finish, I wouldn't apply them over wet or still-drying foundation as that tends to make matte, powder products harder to apply and can also cause them to darken/look patchy. They applied similarly over bare skin (I'm normal-to-dry) as they did over foundation that was lightly set with powder.
They lasted between eight and nine hours on me, and it didn't seem prone to transferring if I just dabbed at it with a napkin (transfer-resistant on a powder was an odd claim to see).

What a lot of bronzers she’s been releasing (and to be honest, quite a few of them look similar to one another). If I were a bronzer junkie, I guess I’d be excited but I’m so not a bronzer person!
The tones and depths are a bit different – I definitely think they’ll read different based on one’s skin tone + undertone – and that’s one of the things that has long been missing from bronzers: variety in undertone and depth.
Probably my least favorite shade thus far. Way too orange based. Reminds me of a Cheeto faux spray tan, if you get what I mean.
I bought this shade and I have to agree-sadly very Cheeto like. Not my favorite. I’ll probably end up using it as a blush and on my eyes.
