Saffron Sun

Estee Lauder Saffron Sun Victoria Beckham Bronzer ($65.00 for 0.42 oz.) is light-medium, golden brown with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had rich, opaque pigmentation that was easy to work with.

It’s a new shade in the Victoria Beckham collaboration (which was partially brought back recently). It’s lighter and more golden-toned compared to Java Sun from the initial release, but it performed similarly. The consistency was smooth, finely-milled, and silky without being so soft that it turned dusty or powdery in the pan. The powder applied evenly to bare skin, blended out easily, and was soft enough that it could be used with a lighter hand for sheerer coverage as well. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me before fading.

I am glad to see this bronzer performs beautifully ?. I think it is too golden for my pink undertone – but I am no expert -. The new hourglass and Marc Jacobs ones look like better options for me!

It might be! A pink or red-toned bronzer might be better!

Victoria Beckham has been on a roll lately with her fashion and makeup collabs! (Although, I’m not sure if this counts as “lately,” considering it’s a re-release. 😛 You get what I mean.) I really like the golden hue.

Very nice shade but, luckily, easily dupeable! Enjoying the VB releases of late and especially appreciate the luxe packaging. At that price point, I want it to feel good in the hand – not only look good!

It definitely does have a high quality formula, plus it looks very nice applied to your cheeks. Unfortunately, it leans into the territory where it could appear orangish on me. Bronzers can be so variable from person to person!

This is an older review but I wanted to comment that Saffron Sun is a super nice color on cooler skin. I was quite surprised to find this out. I’m an NW20 with strong blue veining in a few places and the Saffron Sun bronzer is the most natural color bronzer I’ve ever used. It’s a subtle color so I know I can wear this in winter too. Definitely worth checking out for yourself–don’t be fooled by the swatches online.
