Estee Lauder Mirage Illuminating Powder Gelee Review & Swatches
Mirage
Estee Lauder Mirage Illuminating Powder Gelee ($47.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a medium copper with warm, rosy undertones and a metallic sheen. It had rich color payoff with a smooth, moderately dense consistency that didn’t have any excess powderiness in the pan but was still blendable and easy to work with on my skin. The finish was more metallic and emphasized my skin’s texture slightly. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me before fading a bit. In the past, this formula hasn’t been scented, but this has the Bronze Goddess scent in it.

This looks super-pretty but, sadly, not a colour for me. Do you know if they are releasing any other shades in this formula? (it’s so long since I’ve checked out the Estee Lauder counter so I’ve no idea what they have these days).
They released three shades.
I’ll be eager to see them. I looked online at the Canadian site and they don’t show any of them (maybe they won’t even be available where I live).
I’d check retailers in Canada that might stock EL – I haven’t seen it on EL’s site (US), just at retailers (Nordstrom, Macy’s)
How strong was the scent? I notice that fragrance is midway through the ingredient list.
I don’t notice it on, but it is noticeable when open.
This is such a beautiful color in the pan and arm swatches, that I was at first very tempted to get it. Then I read where you mentioned it emphasizing your skin texture. Your skin is smoother than mine, so I enlarged the full facial pic, and I knew that this wouldn’t fly with my larger pores at all! Gladly, I saw that DoC MÃrame is a very close dupe, though.
Is there an overspray on this highlighter? Thanks in advance for answering.
There might be a little dusting of sparkle on top but the respective rings are slightly different in depth/tone as seen initially. I’m not sure if that changes deeper in the powder, but it looks similar (with softer edges) after several uses. I wouldn’t describe it as an overspray.
This is so pretty. I looked at the other 2 shades because Mirage looks too dark for my skin tone. Even though they are now on sale for $39.95 at Nordstrom I think the lightest color, Heatwave, might still be too dark. Too bad, I just love the presentation!
Love the pattern and the shade, although too warm for me – but the scent? As much as I love EL’s perfumes, I don’t want them in my makeup products.
Not a shade that would work on me, but I’m mesmerized by the pattern!
I really like these coppery highlight shades…they look like a very pretty sunburn lol
How does this compare to the EL Gelee formula of Modern Mercury and the like?
It’s the same type of formula.
Thank you!
