Estee Lauder Impulsive (210) Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches
Estee Lauder Impulsive (210) Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick
Estee Lauder Impulsive (210) Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick ($30.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a light-medium, warm-toned pink with soft, yellow undertones and a natural finish. Bobbi Brown Pink Kiss (P, $26.00) is very similar in color, just more matte. NARS Vanessa (P, $32.00) is darker. Kat Von D Lovecraft (P, $21.00) is darker, more matte. Too Faced Taffy (P, $22.00) is lighter, warmer. Urban Decay Native (P, $22.00) is slightly darker. NYX Chic (P, $4.00) is more shimmery. MAC Giddy (P, $16.00) is more shimmery. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
I reviewed a lot of shades from the Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick formula previously, so just to recap: the formula is supposed to be very hydrating and pigmented with a creamy consistency. Impulsive is nicely pigmented, but the creamier consistency has enough slip in it that it looks a bit streaky applied. I don’t think it’s too noticeable from a normal viewing distance, but it’s not as foolproof as other shades in the range. It lasted for four hours on me, but it was nicely hydrating during that time.
Impulsive
PPermanent. $32.00.

I like the coverage and the glow to the product but it’s probably too warm for me to even consider swatching it.
It might be worth a try – I get kind of a mauvey vibe from it, so I wonder if it would look more neutral on someone cooler-toned!
I love how thorough/informative your posts are! Question: it seems like you’re always reviewing products – do you ever get bummed that you can’t wear your favorites bc you have to test out new products?
I get more enjoyment out of reviewing products for readers than using makeup, most of the time 🙂 I like helping with photos/swatches/real thoughts.
Love your eye look AGAIN! ur on a roll
Thanks, Jessica!
I’m a sucker for this shade and I have wanted to try out the no longer so new EL lipstick ‘coz the packaging is so pretty. But I have to go with the Bite Beauty lippie set you posted yesterday
Better value, though, for Bite! 🙂
It’s very pretty.
I think it’d wash me out, though. I think I might have weird colouring 🙂
Ah, well, good thing there are so many other shades in the range 😉 One of them has to work for you, “weird” coloring or not!
I have one of the bolder, I think it’s a berry shade, I must reorganize my lipsticks so I can find the autumnier colours now that it’s cold out. I like the lipstick, but it doesn’t last very long on me, I think I eat a lipstick or two a year 🙂
I have two of these. They are fantastic. I wore intense nude today. This shade is really pretty.
What’s your favorite part about the formula, Staci?
Everything. They last a long time and are comfortable. If they weren’t so expensive Id buy them all.
That’s a really lovely peachy-pink.
It is 🙂
I can’t believe you’re not wearing blush here! Somehow the color of your cheeks perfectly matches the lip color and eye look!
I am – it’s MUFE S900!
Ohhh, it wasn’t written in the little makeup description before!
Hmm yeah I can definitely see the creaminess working against this shade. It’s still pretty though!
It is! For me, it is subtle enough that it’s still wearable/enjoyable.
This lipstick looks so charming. I would’ve snagged it in a heartbeat had I not gone on a birthday splurge on limited edition MAC lipsticks. It looks very cute on you though, Christine. Ah, well…maybe next year sometime, along with Decadent.
Ah, well, LE MAC lipsticks don’t stay around, these are permanent 🙂
It’s a really nice pink, and looks pleasantly creamy on, but I think there’s still a hint too much white in the base for me. I’m glad it doesn’t lipline-settle (although I don’t recall this being an issue with the Envy line)! I have no idea why I see white in it though… I suppose I just feel that, given its opacity, it would look super bright on me somehow, LOL! 😛
It just might be brighter against your lighter skin tone than mine!
the shade is too light for me, but lovely on you! the eye makeup looks fab! <3
Thanks, Ritu!
This kind of shade is so beautiful 😀
It is!
Is this lipstick similar to Guerlain Rosy Boop?
Rosy Boop is a little darker, warmer, and shimmery!
I love the Pure Color Envy formula! Now that my lips are getting super dry again (autumn, ugh) this is the only lipstick that I can wear without my lips looking all dry and flaky.
Thank goodness you found a formula that works!
Pretty! Although it’s warm-toned, I wonder if the shade is deep enough to complement my pigmented lips and my skin tone.
I would be curious to hear how it works for you, Toni!
This formula is just incredible, one of my faves. I have one (Desirable) and I’d buy more if they weren’t so expensive. I need another lipstick like a hole in the head though… This colour looks stunning on you!
Thank you, Patricia 🙂
This lipstick fits you so well. It looks like it was made for you!
