Edward Bess Eternal Passion Ultra Slick Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches

Edward Bess Eternal Passion Ultra Slick Lipstick

Edward Bess Eternal Passion Ultra Slick Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.13 oz.) is described as a “bright red.” It’s a brightened, medium-dark red with subtle, cool undertones and a glossy shine. Chanel Dialogue is less pigmented. Giorgio Armani Red Fuchsia is darker. NYX Chic Red is more matte. MAC Everyday Diva is warmer. MAC Ronnie Red is darker, more matte. Guerlain Gwen is darker. Guerlain L’Heure Bleue is more shimmery. See comparison swatches.

It has a very creamy, slick texture that feels (and looks) almost wet once applied. The color coverage was mostly opaque, but there was a very slight translucency that kept it from looking too heavy or thick on the lips. The lipstick never pulled or dragged across the lips, and the formula was long-wearing, lightly hydrating, and comfortable to wear. Eternal Passion lasted six hours well, and then it stained for another two hours or so. The lipstick had a sweet fig scent but no discernible taste.

I’ve been on an Edward Bess kick lately. I can’t wear anything this bold, but I do believe I’ll seek out an MLBB shade in this formulation. Thanks for the swatch Christine, and this shade looks just smashing on you!

Very pretty, but I think I’ll check out NYX Chic Red instead, as I prefer a more matte finish (I can always add gloss, and get double-duty, LOL).

WOW. Well, obviously the color is gorgeous, but oh my goodness the finish of this lipstick… it looks SO plush and hydrating and glossy… As someone who can’t wear most lipsticks because they’re just too drying on me… I am so impressed!

Oooh, that is a LOVELY colour on you. Want it. Glad to see Everyday Diva is on the dupe list mind because that’s on my wishlist (and I don’t usually wishlist much in the way of MAC).

Thanks for the lemming C!

I’m trying to resist so hard.
Do I need another red lipstick? No.
Do I already have a perfectly good lipstick? Yes.
Will this stop me? Probably not.

I have very fair skin (About MAC NC-15) so reds can be very overwhelming on me, but I just love the looks of them in swatches and in tubes. I’ve been wanting Guerlain’s Gigolo for a while now, and this will definitely be put on my list. Do you think that these would suit a fair complexion?

This is soooo pretty 😀 And it suits you 😉

It looks like a cool version of Revlon’s Red Laquer(and maybe a more opaque one, though on me Revlon is almost opaque in 2 swipes and opaque in more as I am pale with light pinky-rose lips). It doesn’t show that much on some, though, especially medium and darker skin tones: http://media.glittergeek.ca/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/Revlon-Red-Lacquer-Super-Lustrous-Lipstick-Swatch.jpg

this is another swatch by a blogger i don’t know-not me:

on me, it’s even more opaque <3 It's my fav red as it's not super bright and pigmented but it's still so red.
