Does price make a difference in the quality of false eyelashes?

Does price make a difference in the quality of false eyelashes? Are more expensive false eyelashes worth it?

Thank you in advance! 🙂

No, not really! I think the detectable differences might be the softness of the band, ability to reuse them slightly more, and in the cut – perhaps not as long in excess. But even those are not always true and vary from brand to brand, style to style. Have a question idea? Submit yours here.

No way. I have a few pairs of high end lashes, and almost 30 cheaper sets. To be honest, I feel like I am less likely to use the expensive lashes because of the cost, and so they are just kept for ornaments sake. I am much happier using the 2 or 3 dollar lashes a couple of times then throwing them out.

More expensive lashes tend to have more flexible bands and can withstand more reuses, so inexpensive lashes are better for being customized (cut into fractions) and used only a couple times.

I have yet to meet a lash I didn’t like! In fact, in Canada the Quo lashes are some of the best and around $7! Glue on the other hand, is some discriminate. Duo always does the trick for me, thankfully it is also inexpensive!

Cost doesn’t mean quality. A quality lash doesn’t have to be expensive (MAC lashes are only $15 and hand made) and an expensive lash doesn’t necessarily have quality.

Patricia Avatar

I don’t know if price is the main reason, but I’m always among YSL, Helena Rubinstein and Armani, and none of them seems to be cheap!

I think the glue makes a difference more than the lashes. Go straight for Duo and you’ll have no problems, but use the glue that comes with the lashes and you’ll be really sad.

It depends, the ones i bought from ebay, like the really really cheap ones, feel like paper to me, and dont feel comfortable on the lashes. but onesi buy i discounted beauty stores in the uk, like party girl lashes in savers, they are like 1.50 a pair and are one of my favourites, and asda do the best lashes as well, 1.50 for a pair of lashes with a very thin seam. and they are so comfortable.

Yes and no. ARDELL lashes are about the same as the unlasble lashes you can but for $1 or $2 without packaging.

Velor Lashes are worth the higher price point IMO as the quality of hoe they are made make them longer lasting compared the MAC’s and Make UP For Ever’s. The claim of 25 reuses hold true.

I don’t think so. I got some Red Cherry lashes for about $3 each and they apply better than anything else I’ve purchased for more.

No way! I go to the Asian beauty supply store and the urban beauty supply stores and buy pairs for $2-$3. I worked for MAC for a long time and quickly realized I could get the exact (or close to) lash for one tenth the price. It is all about how you treat them and if it is quality synthetic or natural hair lashes. The application is the most important part of any false lash look and a thorough job of placement and cutting makes all the difference.

I absolutely love Model 21 eyelashes and there are 10 pairs in a box! They range from around $7-$15. They have so many different styles. I love them!!

Yep!

Some pricey eyelashes like shu, mufa and some of the Japanese one are more long lasting, and more comfortable for all day wearing. But I have to say that I don’t like some of Mac’s eyelashes. Cheap eyelashes from eBay usually are not as comfortable.
It really depends on what you want it for and how often you wear falsies.

I like this brand call BN, from sasa. Like under $2 per pair but extremely comfortable!!!

I only want the Shu Uemura lashes, the $75.00 one…….I bought some NYX lashes for a gift…and it was yuk….I rather use the Ardell….unless the lashes have diamonds on them like the ones Madonna wore…I dont think the price would set the quality in most of the cases.

Which Shu lashes do you want? You said $75, which made think of the Shu “Dance in Glitter” lashes…TO DIE FOR! Crazy expensive, but those lashes are gorgeous for clubbing or other fun events where extravagant makeup isn’t considered too out there, lol.

To the first part of the question: Not necessarily. There are great quality lashes at all different price ranges.

More expensive options definitely can be worth it, though. If I can find a pair of lashes that add some length and thicken up the look of lashes without being too dramatic on my smallish eyes then I think paying a little more is worth it. I think if expensive ones are unique enough and wear well (look nice, last through multiple uses, and are comfortable) then a heftier price tag is worth it.

I find Ardell, Red Cherry, and Eyelure make some great, but less expensive lashes. Also, cheaper lashes are fun to adorn with glitter or colored liner mascara to customize.

Not at all! The best lashes for me are the ones from Forever 21 and they vary from $ 1.00 to $ 3.80. For me, they are the easiest to apply and are the prettiest. I have tried all of them, from MAC to Quo, and none of them come close to the Forever 21 ones.

Samantha Avatar

Absolutely not. I have lashes in different price ranges but my absolute favorite are my Ardel 120 demi. Those are the best! They are the most comfortable. They just feel light and don’t weigh my eye down. They have a very natural but dramatic look to them. i have been asked if they are lash extensions and last time i was at MAC the ma asked what kind they were because they were beautiful.

I do buy benefit and MAC ones sometimes and it just depends on the individual lash style wether i think the price is worth it or not.

oh and side note it really depends on how u take care of them. I’ve used a single pair of my $4 ardel ones about 20 times because i couldn’t find them any where for a while. just use make up remover to gently get all the glue off.
