Dior The Atelier of Dreams Collection Swatches
Dior The Atelier of Dreams Collection is a new, limited edition holiday launch that includes two eyeshadow palettes, one blush (though it’s a repromote!), eight lipsticks (across two formulas), and three nail polishes (not shown). Here are swatches!
Ooo House of Dreams is so pretty!
I love me some Dior, as several here will know, but these shadow palettes, while lovely, don’t seem to have a lot of “differentiation” among the shades. Atelier Dore #1 and 2 look very much alike as do 1 and 4. Ditto House of Dreams – #1, 2 and 4 look as though they’d all look pretty much alike once applied to the eye. So, I love ya, Dior, but I don’t think you’ll be getting my dosh this Holiday season. When I was at Sephora last week, I looked for the Diorific lipsticks and it didn’t seem that they carried any of them (unless I just missed them in the display and perhaps with their distinctive lids missing).
Even in the US, Sephora’s Dior offerings are always… random. I never know what they’re going to stock 🙁
The Bay that’s just a stone’s throw from Sephora (the same one that USED TO carry Chanel cosmetics) has the entire Dior line and it’s always the same 2 or 3 saleswomen there, whom I’ve got to know over the years and who have a real knack for selling me more stuff than I initially came in for…. I try, if I can, to avoid it unless there’s something like the Jungle and New Look palettes that I felt I really needed.
Hologlam looks…different.
Less impressive imo…. sad.. I will def be waiting for the review. I missed out on first edition.
Turns out you’re right and I didn’t pick up on that and bought 2. Makes sense it would be different, since embossings require pressure, maybe they have to change the formula. I didn’t think of that 😭
I’ll have to find someone to gift it to, oh well…
I’m getting the Ispahan lipstick, looks so pretty and I love the design on the cover of the lipstick.
House of Dreams is gorgeous!
It is a bit of a tradition for me to buy at least one Dior quint each season and so I was anxiously awaiting this years holiday offerings. Both of these are lovely but fairly basic and certainly appear easily duped. Having said that, I do like House of Dreams a lot and mostly because I love the #3 shade. I have several silver shadows in my collection and use mostly the Ellis Faas Antique Silver but it is getting harder and harder to find. This silver appears less sparkly and in your face compared to the EF one and I like that. I will likely cave and get it but will go and swatch tomorrow. All of the lipsticks are pretty also so I might pick up one of them. We will see. Overall, a conservative holiday offering from Dior and that is what I expect from the brand. Their quality has been pretty good over the last couple of years. I was worried they were on shaky ground for awhile there but seems like they have improved.
I love your comment ‘melted into stunning beautifulness’…. I live for those moments when my eye looks look better 8 hours later!
Gorgeous collection. I got the e/s palettes, 2 lippies, and Hologlam.
House of dreams translates more mauve/violet than I expected, just looking at the pans. But it stayed on my eyeballs for 12 hours and gradually melted into stunning beautifulness, with the silver pop mid-lid, over time. This is a unique cool-toned palette.
I haven’t tried or even swatched the gold equivalent (Atelier Dore) yet.
Sparkling Peony is a gorgeous cool-toned, dark fuscia-like red with beautiful depth and dimension. It’s so lovely with the silver eye palette.
Hologram has a beautiful embossing and I got a few, as it’s my favorite blush and I’m a sucker for beautiful embossing. I’ve hit pan on it and have 2 in circulation that are flattening out. It’s a pink with sparkle and has a peach hint that translates as a coral on my skintone, buildable, a very lovely and interesting blush that goes with everything – both cool and warm color stories. When in doubt – Hologlam to the rescue!
Can’t wait to try the rest.
I should add that I have quite a few taupe palettes and shadows in my collection and that House of Dreams is unique. It wears to a truly stunning finish, where the colors combine into a silky satin gradient. Also, it leans more violet than mauve on my skin tone. I didn’t expect that, as it really is divergent from what the pans look like, and it was actually a pleasant surprise.
This is a case where the swatches really don’t do the palette justice, because together they tell a different overall story. It’s a bit like Suqqu, where the swatch and rating system wouldn’t help because there’s an overall effect that is hard to translate on camera. It won’t photograph as well as, say, Natasha Denona or Par McGrath, but in person, the look is often more natural and beautiful with almost no effort.

my bad.. replied this to Deborah.. one comment above.
Aren’t they wonderful? I love those 8 hour later moments, also, and find that they happen consistently with some brands and not others.
Makes it tough to switch to other palettes sometimes 🙊
Atelier Dore and Hologlam look like products I’d get tons of use out of. My first pick would have to be Hologlam, though.
I ordered the Atelier Dore quint and Red Pansy lipstick on a bit of a whim, but I don’t think I will be disappointed, seeing your swatches. The lipstick case is so beautiful as is the embossing on the lipstick and shadows.
Atelier Dore is pretty nice and I think Mariella would be looking closely at this one – it is both her and my kind of shades. The lipsticks look good too.
Oh, dear!
I really like House of Dreams. It doesn’t look all that impressive, perhaps, but I love the silver and think this could be one of those palettes that just work so well for both every day looks and even a glam evening look.
Atelier Dore is pretty, but I have so many warm toned eyeshadows, I don’t need more.
As for the lipsticks, I’ll just take them all, except Rouge Capucine.
I’m not sure what I think of the blush. It looks lovely in the pan.
I also like the nail polishes.
I’ll wait for the reviews before deciding if I’m going to get any of the items, as (almost) always.
