Dior Ruby (857) High Fidelity Colours & Effects Eyeshadow Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
Ruby (857)
Dior Ruby (857) High Fidelity Colours & Effects Eyeshadow Palette ($63.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a new, limited edition holiday palette featuring shades of pink and plum. The palette seems to be fairly sold through online, but perhaps it’ll pop back up online and may still be available in stores. It was a nice set of shades that we’ve certainly seen quite a bit of this past year, but I’ll always welcome yet another well-done variation.

Ruby (857)
LELimited Edition. $63.00.
Ruby #1
Ruby #1 is a soft pink with warm undertones and a frosted sheen. It had medium coverage that was only buildable if applied with a dampened brush. The texture was soft, smooth, and blendable but on the denser side so a heavier hand would be necessary to pickup product with a brush. The color wore well for seven and a half hours on me.

This is a beautiful palette!
This is the prettiest Dior palette I’ve seen!
What a total GEM! This is one of the prettier of the red-themed eye palettes of late, as evidenced by the look your were able to get from using it. Very tempting to get!
I’m gasping at the beauty and intensity of these shadows and just how stunning they look with those faceted surfaces. If I wore those types of shades – the reds and pinks – I would want this but those aren’t my colours but even so, this is a thing of beauty to look at.
Dior always knows how to ace the presentation!
Oooh, I love the colors and the luminous metallic finish! I wasn’t planning on getting this, but after seeing the swatches and your eye look, I’m going to have to think about this. It’s been a while since I’ve picked up a Dior palette and this is so beautiful
At last, a very decent quint by Dior! Even though the shades have many dupes, it is a likeable little palette.
Your eye look is beautiful Christine.
Thank you, Genevieve!
I was hoping this would score well. If it’s available I’m picking this one up. It’s stunning.
Fingers crossed you can find it!
It is available at Dior.com : ) Hurry!
Hmmm I checked last night and it was sold out thereas well ?
So sorry! Try Lord & Taylor.com , Macy’s, Saks, etc.
Just found it at belk.com!
Your eye look is beautiful, Christine. It’s just so expensive! As pretty as this is, I’d rather spend the money on the 24-shade KVD Saint & Sinner palette.
Thanks! I’m sure you can find less expensive dupes. I feel like this color scheme has been done a lot this year!
This is such a beautiful looking palette. I really like most of the Dior 5 pan palettes. I have so many of these shades that I can’t really justify another one although these colors are gorgeous.
Super pretty, but I’d rather grab one of the new limited edition Natasha Denona 5-pans for $48.
Best Dior palette i have seen in years and years. Those are my ATF colors too. Like classic everyday colors for me, so worth the splurge.
Probably the nicest Dior 5 pan I’ve seen in awhile. I can dupe this, but thought it would certainly be a more portable version for peeps who travel frequently.
honestly…i don’t even go for the dior palettes but was totally captivated by this review n swatches sooooo i hunted it down annnnd SCOOOOORE!!!!! this baby is on the way <3 I am looking forward to pairing the ruby shade with KVD Lolita shadow.
Best Dior eyeshadow I’ve seen in a while!
Does anyone know where I can buy this palette? Gorgeous! I couldn’t find it on Sephora.com
It’s been selling out very quickly 🙁
Hi! I am a great reader of your blog although never commented before. But I think I should for this particular post.
I received this quint yesterday and was very surprised that it indicated it only contained much less product than I expected (3g, 10 oz)! Almost thought I received a fake product (I ordered from a standard beauty shop) and double checked on your website. Indeed, in your product photos, the packaging indicates only 3g, 10oz of product.
I was pretty annoyed as this costs more than Dior’s quints but contains only half the weight of product.
The formula is different – the “lightness” is comparable to other formulas by brands!
Thanks for your reply! I suppose it is possible that Dior is using a formula way lighter in wt than their normal. It is still strange as most retailers (in Germany that is) the wt is either not listed or incorrectly listed ^_^
