Dior Pink Glow (002) Diorskin Nude Luminizer Review & Swatches

Pink Glow (002)
Dior Pink Glow (002) DiorSkin Nude Luminizer ($48.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a very light pink with warmer undertones and a metallic sheen. This shade had a slightly stronger sheen compared to others in the formula, though most can be used more sheerly for a less luminous finish or built up for greater shine. This highlighter was intensely pigmented with a smooth, blendable consistency that was firmly pressed in the pan, so there wasn’t any powderiness, but it yielded well to my brushes for good product pick up . The powder applied evenly to bare skin and blended out with almost no effort at all and didn’t seem to accentuate my skin’s natural texture. The color lasted well for eight and a half hours on me before it started to fade a bit.

It's a new line of powder highlighters that are supposed to give the "face a multidimensional glow" with a "high concentration of shimmering pigments." It's an update on their previous Luminizers but with lighter-weight packaging (and no included brush, which wasn't anything to write home about anyway!) and a lower price.
The ingredient list seemed to be the same, and by touch, they seemed to be nearly the same--I felt like the updated version seemed a smidgen drier/more firmly pressed but it was barely noticeable and a couple were a little lighter/darker swatched but may simply have reflected more or less light in the particular shot as there was little difference on my skin. They had medium to opaque color coverage that applied well, lasted for eight hours, and blended out easily. The texture was denser, smooth to the touch, but firmer (so no powderiness) but require a moderately dense brush and/or medium hand to pick up product.

This is really gorgeous and such a good rating! But they’re expensive. How do you think they compare with Wet n Wild Megaglo Highlighters, given the gigantic difference in price, of course?
I love WnW Blossom Glow and Precious Petals even more than the two high end highlighters I own (Laura Mercier and Smashbox).
It really depends on the shade, I would say, since the finish can be different. Wet ‘n’ Wild is, in general, a bit shinier and has larger shimmer – someone with very textured skin may see a larger difference but someone with little texture may not.
I’m glad this formula and shade are not too divergent from the original 002 that I own. I’m curious when the AIR powders are going to swapped out for these. 😉
I also finally did my dare to compare post on all the pink highlighters and yeah a lot of them are very similar to this one’s original shade. lol
I’m surprised they weren’t cleared out already!
I just picked this up last week and it is my first Dior highlighter. Wow. It is really beautiful. I love how I can sheer it out for everyday wear or layer it for that “from space” glow. I’m contemplating to get rid of all of my other highlighters (mostly drugstore) and use this one exclusively.
That is brilliant, Mags! Sounds like you’ve found a new HG!
I have the original formula in 02 and I also think it is pretty similar. This is really pretty though and I like that the original doesn’t emphasize my texture.
Yep, they are very similar!
Luxe, luxe and luxe!
Hi Christine,
The word shimmering in the name scared me. Should I expect glitter particles in it? Compared to the Limited Edition Glowing Gardens and the previous Nude Air Luminizers, is it the same formula or different?
I wish they would have kept the metal bottom packaging though. It looks a lot more fragile to me. Would you agree?
Thank you
Please read “Formula Overview” 🙂 It was shimmery, but I did not see glitter in it. I don’t find that plastic is any more or less durable than metal when it comes to beauty. Maybe if you tend to drop products from high distances, but I’ve had plastic packaging (for lipsticks) survive 10 foot drops.
