Light Up the Night with Marilyn

Dior Marilyn (040) Diorific Lipstick ($36.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a pinky-red with a subtle, natural sheen for its finish. MAC Love Goddess is much pinker, less red-based. MAC Charmed, I’m Sure is darker, redder. Guerlain Pour Troubler is pinker. NARS Dragon Girl is darker, cooler-toned. Guerlain L’Heure Bleue is darker, almost berry-ish. Giorgio Armani #406 isn’t as bright.

The texture of the Diorific range is really incredible; creamy enough not to tug or pull at the lips during application but not so creamy that it slips and slides around.  I didn’t experience any feathering or bleeding of the color while I wore it for eight hours.  It feels comfortable, lightweight, and hydrating when worn.  There’s a light floral scent that I can detect in the tube, but I don’t notice it when it is on my lips.  The color payoff is exactly as marketed: super rich and saturated.

I admit, it’s starting to get difficult for me to tell the difference between these LE holiday collection Dior reds.

The case reminds me of a weird gold dumbbell?

After the disappointment of not being able to get my hands on any of the lipsticks from the MAC Marilyn collection, these Dior holiday lipsticks seem like a really nice alternative, even if they are more expensive. I love how this looks!

It’s a nice color, but I really can’t stand the packaging of these. I want to say what I think it looks like but I’m afraid it’s too vulgar! haha

These are all beautiful, but I can’t have all 4. So, if you were going to buy just one, which one? I’m fairly pale, I guess NC/NW20 (read neutral) with medium brown hair. I think I’m leaning towards Diorling – it would be perfect for the holidays.

I got this one!!!!! Yeh!!!! Yes, it cost more than MAC Marilyn, but it is so so pretty and you get a tad more per each tube.. They all look the same on the web….but they are not.

I am confused. You are reviewing Dior Marilyn, but in the “what makeup are you wearing section” you list Chanel Pimpante. Which lipstick is featured in the photos?

I´ve got this lipstick, however I´d like to try Nars jungle red as well, unfortunately, Nars is not available in my country. How similar / different are they rom each other?
Im looking for a raspberry-redish lipstick, and have a yellowish skin undertone.

BTW, LOVE ur blog and especially your reviews.
