Dior Incognito Addict Extreme Lipstick
They’ll Never Know with Color Like This
Dior Incognito Addict Extreme Lipstick ($30.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a subtly rose-tinted beige with a natural shine. Make Up For Ever #N40 is lighter, more beige. Tom Ford Blush Nude is lighter. Chanel Superstition is gold-shimmered. MAC Woo Me is several shades lighter. MAC Mellow Mood has a similar color but also has gold shimmer.
Talk about an effortless nude! I like to think of nude color as if your natural lip color and your skin color merged together to form something natural and infinitely flattering–on you. This might be why it can be a challenge to find that perfect nude. Many nudes are very pale, light, and don’t always work as nudes on a lot of complexions. Incognito takes the natural pink and beige tones often found in the skin to create a nude that will work really well on light to medium complexions. It might be lighter than nude for medium-dark to dark skin tones (but it can still be worn–it just might not be your perfect nude, you know?).
After testing a bolder shade in the range, I wasn’t surprised that this one wasn’t long-wearing like Dior described it to be. It does have mostly opaque color with a natural shine, but the wear is right around four hours, which is what I typically get with most lipsticks, including plenty of Dior shades from the past. Incognito applies more evenly than Lucky when I was trialing it, but it had the same subtle translucency that gives it a really lush look on lips. The texture is creamy enough that it slides across lips without tugging, but it’s not thick or heavy. Not drying, lightly hydrating, it’s an all-around comfortable formula to wear. It has a light perfume-y scent that I couldn’t notice once applied.

That is a really great nude on you, Christine! Â and you can see it very well in the side by side photos…like perfect! Â My only issue with this one would be the opacity and finish since I just like more coverage. Â This seems like a wonderful hybrid product for people who want a lip gloss look, but prefer more staying power. Â Great also for a no makeup look. Â I’m not going to run out and buy this lipstick, but I will keep it on my list as a potential product to pick up at some point. Â This would be a product I stash and leave in my little purse sized makeup kit.
wwendalynne Yes, definitely better wear than the average gloss-lipstick hybrid!
I have been loving this hue. It is the perfect nude for my NC 42-45 complexion. Which has been hard to find. I already bought a backup of this lipstick and the coordinating nail lacquer. Â Usually pinky nudes look chalky but there is enough beige and sheerness that makes this works on darker skins beautifully. My mum who is NC55 looks fabulous in this too and she hates nudes.
KristinaC So great to hear that it’s a perfect nude for both of your complexions, too! 🙂
LOVE! What a perfect nude!
@Marina Do you have a perfect nude already, Marina? 🙂
What an incredibly sloppy product from Dior. The mold used to shape the lipstick is so bland compared to the Burberry lipstick for the same price.
For me, it looks a bit too much like a Lip Butter or something analagous on your lips. OT: are the comments accidentally turned off for the Burberry post? I don’t see any window in which to write and it’s been that way for a while. Perhaps just my computer acting up?
Kafka We definitely have them enabled (I was wondering why there were NO!! comments at all), and Livefyre is supposed to be working on it now!
Christine-Temptalia I suspected it wasn’t on my end. After all, NO comments for Burberry? Burberry?!?!! I expected @Blueracoon to be lying prostate in front of the monitor, in a pile of deleriousness, cooing and mumbling with joy! <grin>
Kafka I *tried* to comment the first time I saw the post and it wouldn’t let me! *pouts* There was much flailing and squeeing of joy.
blueraccoon I tried to respond as well for naught..  <sheesh>Â
“Many nudes are very pale, light, and don’t always work as nudes on a lot of complexions.”Thank you for mentioning this. As a woman with very, very pale skin imagine my delight when nudes first went seriously mainstream – at last, a huge collection of lipsticks that would be perfect for someone like me! … And then I ran headlong into that very problem and thanked god that Nordstrom accepts returns. It seems like a no-brainer: pale colors for pale complexions! But while that works wonderfully around the eyes, the same just isn’t true of the lips. The majority of the nudes I’ve tried left me looking clownish – so pale but so *saturated* that my skin looked dull and ghostly and my mouth was a hot mess. This feels like a far ‘quieter’ color, and transluscent enough that my own pigmentation will anchor it nicely.
Ariane The opacity, texture, and undertone can really make or break a nude! Have you found a good nude for you?
What a perfect nude!! //flails I love the tones in this — not too orange, not too violet.

I have alot of shades in this range in my stash, but for some reason, this one stands out. Maybe it’s the perfect amount of pink… I have several that are more nude/beige, and some that are pinker, but I keep coming back to this post. I will be swatching this one the next time I’m at a Dior counter.
xamyx I like the pink in it, too! Let us know if you end up swatching it, Amy!
That’s what I call perfect timing! I’ve been meaning to buy this lipstick for days now, but since there is no Sephora where I live, I was wary of buying it online without seeing it “on” first. I’m definitely buying it without worries now, thanks to you, Christine! 🙂
KarinaRodrigues Yay! I hope you love it, Karina 🙂
Commenting on the actual product – I have two of the addict extreme lipsticks so far, in Lucky and Paparazzi, and I think this is going to be number three. So pretty!
blueraccoon Woohoo!
You’re the second blogger I’ve seen review this, and I think this is finally pushing me to put it on my list. It just looks like the perfect nude for my skin tone. Revlon’s Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake is the closest I have to a good MLBB shade, but it lacks the beige undertone that keeps it from being a true nude.
I love this! Dior Addict Lipsticks are my favorite, I love the formula and color range. My favorite is parisian chic. I’m on my last tube of it and havent been able to find it at my usual Sephora so I’m praying that its not discontinued!
If only my lips weren’t so pigmented! Â Shades like this would look lovely on my skin tone, but my lips are bright and almost a coral color, so I can’t see nudes working at all on me.
I was thisclose to purchasing this shade, but I passed for some reason. Now I’m really kicking myself for it–I’ve really been loving my rosy-nudes lately. This one is particularly gorgeous. I did, however, just get the L’Oreal Colour Caresse lipstick in Sheer Linen though and while it’s not exactly alike, they’re very close. I really, really love it!
it’s more like a mlbb shade than my idea of nude(more or less the wearer’s skintone) but pretty enough.
thats a very pretty color! that sure will go on my wish list! 😀
This looks very similar to one of my favorite nudes by Too Faced called Confidential.
