Dior Dolce Vita (555) Rouge Blush Review & Swatches
Dolce Vita (555)
Dior Dolce Vita (555) Rouge Blush ($44.00 for 0.23 oz.) is a deep, reddened plum with soft, warm undertones and a satin sheen. It had nearly opaque color coverage in a single layer, which was buildable to full coverage with less than half of a layer on top. I was able to apply less product using a lighter hand and build up that way as well. I would recommend using a moderately dense blush brush with this, as the powder had a smoother, denser, and slightly creamy consistency to it that didn’t play as well with more feathery/ultra soft brushes. It applied fairly evenly to my cheeks and blended out nicely, while the satin sheen sat well on my skin–natural but not overtly shimmery. The blush started to fade noticeably after nine hours of wear.

Formula Overview
$48.00/0.22 oz. - $218.18 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have a "silky" and "lightweight" texture that's long-wearing and have "buildable" intensity. The blushes had a smooth, lightweight consistency that was finely-milled, though not as silky as I would have expected, without being too powdery nor too firmly-pressed into the pan.
The majority of the shades I tested had medium, buildable pigmentation that was hard to over-do but could definitely be intensified for higher coverage if desired. They applied evenly and blended out without issue, and they seemed to sit well on my skin with a semi-matte finish or higher. The more shimmery shades were still more low-level and had a sheen rather than overt shimmer that yielded a more metallic finish.
On my skin, most of the hues I trialed lasted eight hours before showing signs of fading. There was a soft, floral scent to the powders.

I’m glad these Dior blushes perform well. This colour suits you so well, Christine! I just wished they had used a different name than NARS Dolce Vita blush; same name, same colour range – not original on behalf of Dior.
My goodness Christine, what a gorgeous color for Fall! From your description it seems like it’s highly pigmented but still blendable. Do you think it’s blendable enough for a sheer, stain-like effect?
Yes, I think so! The only thing I’d say is if you have a thicker/more matte base, then it might be too much blending/buffing required.
Because this one resembles the Shiseido one from yesterday so strongly, I’m a little torn between them. Yet, I would probably choose neither, but get Clinique Black Honey Pop over both.
Isn’t it funny how similar they are? Total coincidence!
Clinique black honey pop is my aall time favorite blush (as everyone knows LOL!) so I’m good, but MAN am I drawn to this shade!!
This is a really vibrant shade and I think the whole range has been a success.
Nars Dolce Vita is repeated as a dupe FYI.
It’s not – they are different products 🙂
what Bv500 is saying is that NARS Dolce Vita is listed twice as a dupe!
They are TWO distinct products – one is NARS Dolce Vita *Powder* Blush and one is NARS Dolce Vita *Liquid* Blush. They are products with the same name but are not the same product.
Beautiful blush! I see it is dark skin friendly. How does the formula compare to the MAC Extra Dimension Blushes like Pleasure Model and Fiery Impact?
A real beauty — fortunately, I feel sure I have an indie just like it.
What a gorgeous shade! I have two dupes listed otherwise I’d rush to the store to get this!
A little further into Fall, I like to layer Tom Ford blushes Ravish over Savage. Gorgeous!
