A Rather Candid Pop of Pink
Dior Candide (457) Dior Addict Lipstick ($31.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “pink.” It’s a light-medium pink with subtle yellow undertones and a shiny finish. MAC Vivid Imagination is more opaque, slightly brighter. Bobbi Brown Pink Orchid is a touch lighter. Guerlain Rose Piquant is similar. Chanel Charme is similar in color, a touch cooler, and more shimmery.
The Dior Addict Lipstick formula is creamy, balm-like, and lightweight; it slides on easily and deposits even color while you glide it across the lips. This is actually one of the more pigmented shades from the range that I’ve experienced–it’s semi-sheer to semi-opaque as there’s a noticeable translucency that allows the natural lip color to come through. As a result, those with redder natural lip color, this will look redder on you still, but the effect is lightening and brightening, even on my less pigmented lips. Candide wore for three hours, and it was somewhat hydrating but not as hydrating as I’d expect.

I love addict lipstick. However your comment about it being less hydrating than expected really puts me off. My extremely dry lips really need the extra moisture. The color is pretty but can’t help to think how much the color will change on my lips. Will have to try this when Canada gets it
If the formula (in the past) has worked for you, I think you’ll be fine! The formula isn’t super hydrating on me ever, I don’t recall…
I’m less impressed with this one than I usually am with Dior’s Addict lip sticks.
It’s a pretty shade, though I think I have something similar in my collection. At the least, a B+ is one of the less serious troubles of Candide. 😉
a little too milky for me
This definitely does look more pigmented than the other one I saw your review for. They look pretty in the tube but wouldn’t pay this price for them.

It was my first tube of Dior Addict lipstick and I really liked it. I’ve purchased one, tried it and went back to get a backup ! Such a perfect light pink I’ve been searching for since the discontinuation of CdP Extra Silky line where I lost my HG #106 babe. *sob* I’m not saying they were identical, but they were quite close on my hand swatch. And though the shade was quite light, its translucency allowed the natural lips color to peek through it so it didn’t look stark on which was great.
And I was surprised that I felt it was pretty hydrating because my lips are normally easily chapped that I need to reapply moisturising lip product quite often. So this was an incredible discovery for a new lipstick line for me. Thank you for your wonderful swatch ! <3 <3
