Bobbi Brown Orchid Pink Treatment Lip Shine SPF 15 Review, Photos, Swatches

Bobbi Brown Orchid Pink Treatment Lip Shine SPF 15 ($23.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “light heather pink.” It’s a soft, pale pink with subtle cool undertones–it almost looks warm in the swatch but cooler on my lips. Guerlain Rose Piquant is a touch darker. Chanel Charme is darker and more shimmery. Guerlain Rose Innocent is similar, slightly paler. Estee Lauder Mauve Mirage is similar, perhaps a touch darker.

The formula is listed as “lightweight, soft shine lipstick that doubles as a rejuvenating moisture treatment.” It’s supposed to have both short-term and long-term hydration. It’s scent- and taste-free (no distinct SPF flavor!). It’s a soft, pliant formula that has some slip, but it doesn’t have any thick, creaminess, so it doesn’t slide all over the place.

The lipstick applies smoothly and evenly, and it deposits semi-opaque color without having to slather it on. The finish is lightly glossy, mega-shiny, but it doesn’t have a really wet look to it, so it’s not quite as glossy as a lipgloss. It’s moisturizing and feels good once applied, and while I did not wear this particular shade back-to-back, I did test out the wear of several shades back-to-back, and my lips were nicely hydrated post-wear. Orchid Pink wore for three hours when I tested it.

0.07 OZ?? that’s criminal. Even Cle de Peau and Guerlain lipsticks have more than 0.12 Oz. But this is such a pretty shade. I love pinks!

@MIRIANV The size is common to this “type” of lipstick consistency/formula – like Cle de Peau Extra Silky are around the same size and a more comparable formula, though this isn’t as slick, so you won’t run through it as quickly. Chanel has the Rouge Coco Shines I think it is, similar size. MAC Slimshines were around this oz. as well!  I’ve always wondered if they break easily if they were a larger size and in a regular tube, or if they spoil faster, so they don’t want them to last that long.

@Christine (Temptalia) i did notice that the rouge coco shines were only 0.10 oz when their other lipsticks are 0.12 oz. it’s disappointing because you’re still paying a comparable price tag to their regular lipsticks and getting less product. I also tend to use these “types” more often for daily where so I run through them fast 🙁 they just feel so nice!

While this would not be my color, the formula sounds nice.  I have very dry lips, so I’m always looking for hydrating lip products.

I love these darn lip treatments to death!  I’ve got two already and I’ll be getting more for sure.  I’m obsessed with these.  I can apply these with no lip liner or mirror…pretty colors.

It looks very pretty. I love Bobbi Brown’s Treatment Lip Shines, but I heard from a Bobbi rep that they are being phased out of the  line. That hurts my heart. Have you heard anything about that Christine?

You give this an A, even though it is small, and sheer, yet you give Revlon Lip Butters bad grades? Why are you so into how expensive something is?

Hi Christine. I’m in Australia until August when I head back to north America…I’m just wondering when this comes out and how long it will be on sale for (if you know!!) thanks!!!
