Magic

Cover FX Magic Shimmer Veil ($28.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a light, peachy pink with warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic sheen. The consistency was a little more gel-like and fluid compared to other shades, though it was easy to work patted over the lips, cheeks, or as a one-and-done shade on the lid but took a little more coaxing when used with a brush on the eyelid. It produced a beautiful, luminous sheen on cheeks that stayed on well for nine hours. On eyes, it was brightening on its own and emphasized my lid texture slightly when I applied it at semi-opaque or greater levels, but the wear was solid at eight and a half hours. As a lip product, it was the most forgiving and least emphasizing of the six shades but still had quite a bit of shine, and it wore well for four and a half hours on my lips.

Formula Overview

$28.00/0.14 oz. - $200.00 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have "customizable" coverage that delivers a "high-impact finish" that can be used on "eyes, lips, and beyond." These are very sparkling, shimmering, and metallic shades with a thin, lightly mousse-like consistency that dries down quickly and seems to last quite well, even on eyes. I had some trouble diffusing and blending out the edges as nicely as I wanted as they dried down too fast when I worked with brushes (it was easier to blend in time when just applying one shade all over the lid). On the eyes, they worked and applied best patted over another eyeshadow to do a glittery accent, halo eye, or placed onto the lid in a cut-crease look, but I struggled using more than one shade together (as a single eye look) and found they were a little thick and more prone to emphasizing lid texture if applied more heavily or into the crease. I didn't have any issues with the formula flaking or creasing on the eyes, though.

On the lips, they tended to apply with medium to semi-opaque coverage and spread evenly across the lips with little work (I used my fingertip to do so). They dried down to a transfer-resistant finish that felt "matte" in the sense of being flat/not glossy, but the finish itself was more metallic and sparkling overall. They didn't feel as clingy, dry, or as tight as I expected, though on their own, they didn't feel the most comfortable. They were most comfortable, on the lips, when patted over a more matte lip product or topped with clear balm or gloss. I found that creamier lipsticks tended to "eat" the shimmer and cover it up rather than letting it come through. The wear was between four and five hours.

On the cheeks, they spread easily over the skin and diffused gradually along the edges both over bare skin as well as patted over liquid foundation (without lifting up the base). It dried down and looked sparkly without looking chunky, dirty, or gritty on the skin. I was surprised to find it to be rather versatile formula--I could get moderate glow or get really intense, shiny, sparkly results depending on how much I applied. They lasted eight to nine hours on my cheeks.

Moonstone

Cover FX Moonstone Shimmer Veil ($28.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a medium-dark, coppery plum with warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic sheen. It had medium, buildable coverage that could be sheered out if desired but seemed to look its best at medium or greater coverage (the shimmer didn’t seem as noticeable otherwise). The consistency was a little thicker overall, and of all the shades in the line-up, this one seemed to be a bit harder to sheer out evenly on the cheeks. On the flip side, it was the most lipstick-like shade on the lips as it also added some color. It wore well for five hours as a lip color and nine hours as both a cheek highlighter and eyeshadow.

Soleil

Cover FX Soleil Shimmer Veil ($28.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a medium-dark, rosy copper with a sparkling, metallic finish. It had medium to opaque, buildable pigmentation that applied easily to cheeks and lips and decently to eyelids. The concern I had on my eyelids was that it was prone to emphasizing my lid texture and wasn’t as easy to diffuse the edges due to a quick dry down time. It was easiest to pat onto the mobile lid as an accent or swept all over the lid for a sheer, luminous glow. It wore well for five hours as a lip color and nine hours as both a cheek highlighter and eyelid shade.

I think Soleil is a really beautiful shade!I also like the fact this is a pretty versatile product. Now to figure out which shades I want to try first!!Thank you for testing each of these on the eyes, cheeks, and lips.It is greatly appreciated? You always give such an in depth review and I know that has to take so much time especially with a product like this that can be used in so many different ways.
