Cover FX Suntan Bronze Monochromatic Bronzer Duo Review & Swatches
Suntan Bronze
Cover FX Suntan Bronze Monochromatic Bronzer Duo ($38.00 for 0.51 oz.) contains a deeper, red-toned brown with a matte finish and a medium, reddish-copper with a lightly metallic finish. Both shades were blendable, long-wearing, and easy to work with, while the matte side had more semi-opaque, buildable coverage compared to the shimmery side, which was opaque in one layer.

Suntan Bronze (Left)
Suntan Bronze (Left) is a medium-dark, reddish-brown with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable color coverage with a smooth, velvety consistency. The powder applied well to bare skin and blended out with little effort. What I really was impressed by was that it had a natural matte finish–matte but not dry or powdery, and it didn’t darken unevenly with natural oils from my skin as some matte powders can. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me before fading visibly.

Suntan Bronze (Right)
Suntan Bronze (Right) is a medium-dark coppery bronze with warm, reddish undertones and a soft, sparkling sheen. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer with barely-there, faint micro-sparkle over a more luminous finish, though it was one of the higher-shine shimmer shades from the various duos. The texture was smooth to the touch, soft without being powdery, and denser without being stiff or difficult to pick up and blend out on my skin. The color stayed on well for eight and a half hours on me before I noticed any fading.

Well that seals the deal: I will be purchasing the Cover FX bronzers to add to my collection of Cover FX blushes. These will be the only bronzers I have but if they are as good as the blushes, I’m a happy camper.
The formula is definitely consistent, IMO – honestly just feels like same formula, different colors (bronzy hues).
Do you think this is suitable for a light-medium skintone, Christine? I mean, this is just gorgeous! Love the versatility!
I am light to light-medium, if that helps.
I love this!! I checked them out in store on the weekend and I definitely plan on picking up two or three. The only thing I don’t like is the packaging but I am definitely partial to simple black packaging. The packaging will not deter me from the purchase though.
I’m floored by how beautiful this duo looks! Even though I do realize that this specific duo was created for those with richer, deeper complexions than my own, red-based bronzers are what bring my own duller olive face to life. I’ve hit some decent amount of pan on my UD Jawbone, so….?
Whilst this is way too dark for me, I love the combination and coppery bronze highlight is beautiful.
I could happily stare at the shimmery side of that compact all day.
Cannot wait to see these IRL. Just checked the website, and they haven’t reached Mass, RI, or NH yet, at least by their info. ARRRGH. Been saving the Ultabucks for these. They seem to be a tad intense not to try first. Psych!
It’s alittle dark for me so I’ll need to use a light hand. I love the reddish tones! When I do get hot it’s a reddish tone so very natural for me.. gives s flush like post work out! Kinda excited about this one.
