Cover FX Pink Dahlia Monochromatic Blush Duo Review & Swatches
Pink Dahlia
Cover FX Pink Dahlia Monochromatic Blush Duo ($38.00 for 0.51 oz.) contains a matte, coral blush and a shimmery, warm pink blush. The two coordinated well together with the shimmery pink lightening and brightening the matte blush without drastically altering the color or tone of it. Both shades had good color payoff, were blendable, and lasted for eight and a half hours on me.

$38.00/0.51 oz. - $74.51 Per Ounce
The duo includes both a "monochromatic matte and shimmer shade" that can be used "individually or layer[ed] together." The blushes are described as having "high-impact payoff" with no other specifics. The consistency of the matte shades was incredibly silky, finely-milled, and smooth without being powdery--they were thinner but not difficult to apply and sat well on bare skin as well as over foundation. The pigmentation ranged from semi-opaque to opaque and was definitely buildable.
Both the matte and shimmer products wore between eight and nine hours on me.

Pink Dahlia (Left)
Pink Dahlia (Left) is a medium pink-coral with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had a smooth, velvety consistency that wasn’t too thin or too dense, so the product picked up well on a brush without having lots of powderiness in the pan. It had nearly opaque color payoff that was easy to diffuse and blend out on my skin (though a lighter hand could be used for more buildable coverage if preferred). It wore well for eight and a half hours on me before fading noticeably.

Pink Dahlia (Left)
PiPPermanent in Palette.
Pink Dahlia (Right)
Pink Dahlia (Right) is a light-medium pink with moderate, warm undertones and a luminous sheen. It seemed more sparkly/frosted when swatched, but applied to my cheeks, it diffused to a very luminous sheen that was lightly shiny but not overly frosted, so it did not emphasize my skin’s natural texture. It had buildable pigmentation from semi-opaque coverage in a single layer. The powder had a smooth, denser consistency that wasn’t too firmly pressed in the pan, and it was easy to pick up product without excess kicked up in the pan. It stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours on me before fading visibly.

The shimmery shades were slightly firmer with more of a powder-gel hybrid consistency that is firmer, denser but is often smoother and more "melted" when applied and blended out on skin. For this type of formula, I'd recommend a moderately dense blush or highlighter brush. Most of the shimmery shades had a luminous sheen--smoother, shinier finish but not intense or metallic. I found that layering the matte over the shimmer to yield a more intense shimmer effect, which is more of a tip from me to you than a pro/con.
Both the matte and shimmer products wore between eight and nine hours on me.

Daaang, these are pigmented.
Gosh these are all so pretty that I am going to have a hard time sticking to just the two I am going to buy. I am waiting to go to the big city but will check my stash first and see if there is a hole somewhere and then go for the shades that will fill a gap. If there isn’t a hole then I will just go with the pinkest and the most neutral. It’s a plan anyway.
Ooooh! This is pretty. I might pick up one or two of these when Cover FX inevitably has one of their 20% off sales.
Apparently I have dupes for both shades, drats! Because, I really wanted this particular duo. Badly. Like salivating for it badly!
Then I see that MAC Spring Flock (one of my all-time favorite blushes) and Nars Orgasm (another fave) cover me! ?
I know, I know. I should be happy. So I’ll use both today to pull myself back up. LOL.
These are lovely – I have been so impressed, even though initially I was like, ehhhh, they look ooookkkkkaaaay – but the quality is definitely there!
This is a heavenly shade and both sides of the blush are equally as good. I really like this colour.
I’m super happy with mine. The Pink Dahlia (Left) side is also almost a dead-on dupe to my NARS Torrid blush on my skin tone so no wonder I like it. š
I want it!!! But I also want it to be super pale. The way Iād have to approach this like a brain surgeon, Iād probably never reach for it. But, I want it!!
