Cherries Jubilee
ColourPop Cherries Jubilee Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a pale white with a pinkish tone and pink and lavender sparkle. It had good pigmentation in a single layer with a smooth, lightly sparkly texture. The consistency was slightly thinner, and the sparkles did not spread as evenly as I would have liked them to have (they seemed to bunch up a bit unless patted on and not blended/moved at all). This shade wore well for nine hours and had minor fallout.

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow is a cream-based formula that comes in a multitude of shades and finishes. The more metallic shades have the most slip to them (they have a “wetter” feel), while the more matte ones have a firmer, more clay-like consistency. Almost every shade I’ve tried from ColourPop has been exceptionally long-wearing (10+ hours of wear, usually there until I remove, even 14 hours later). The pigmentation can vary from shade to shade, but the average shade is quite pigmented.
From feedback I’ve seen from readers, many love them but some don’t like them at all. They aren’t a traditional cream eyeshadow, as they are denser (more sponge-like), and they apply best with flat, firm, synthetic brushes (I like the MAC 242 and 249) for me. The brand recommends using fingers for the most pigmented application, but I’ve only felt that fingers were necessary on a few shades (usually the super glittery ones).
The more matte shades can be on the drier side and vary from medium to opaque in coverage, though they're often buildable. They can be a little hard to diffuse the edges of, though some are lovely to work with.
The more glittery shades have been the weakest to me, as they can be sheerer or harder to apply. Sometimes, they are more pigmented and work like the other finishes in the formula, but often, they are sheerer and only function well patted on top of more pigmented eyeshadows to add glitter. They do, however, tend to have little fallout over time with the occasional shade having a more moderate amount of fallout (but still less fallout than most powder eyeshadows with glitter).

Posey
ColourPop Posey Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a light peach with warm, yellowish undertones and pink, beige, and silver sparkle. It had semi-sheer color coverage, which wasn’t buildable, and it worked best layered over another product (like eyeliner or opaque eyeshadow) to add sparkle. The consistency was soft, smooth, and creamy enough to still feel like a cream eyeshadow but it looked and set more like a powder eyeshadow, but it was hard to spread the glittery bits evenly. There was some fallout over the nine hours it lasted for.

Sunbeam
ColourPop Sunbeam Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a medium purple with cool undertones and flecks of blue and violet sparkle. It had semi-sheer coverage, and again, it was the type of coverage and finish that worked best layered over another product to transform the tone (it looked great over black eyeliner). I found this one easier to work with as the sparkle/glitter spread more evenly on the skin. It wore well for nine hours and had minor fallout.

Oh no.
Oh no, no, no, no, no.
I can’t wait to read the official descriptions tomorrow to see if they were intentionally sheer or not…
Probably are supposed to be sheer, but they can do sheer right (Alchemy, Sailor, etc.) when they try. This is a bummer.
I don’t like their trend of just putting out a few glitter-heavy supershocks alongside pressed palettes. Both things I don’t want. I want satin supershocks all day long.
sad i hope the palette is better
I saw someone call them ultra glitter shadow toppers. I think that’s why they aren’t as opaque
These really do look like more of an eyeshadow topper as opposed to an actual full coverage shadow. That said, I actually like Sunbeam to use over either a thicker black cat-eye liner look or over another purple shade, like a red-violet to amp it up.
Cherries Jubilee would make for a nice, icy inner corner shadow!
Sunbeam looked so pretty! =( I guess I could layer it over other shadows and still get some sort of sparkle. I hope the rest of the collection does well. I am so excited that you’re reviewing this!
It is pretty over something else! 🙂
These don’t look so hot – either the shades, the ratings and the fact that they have all cracked in their little pot.
Truthfully? Most Colourpop supershock are this sheet on me, so I don’t find this surprising. From what I’ve come to expect from Colourpop, this is lovely enough.
Oh, I love Cherries Jubilee! If they have free shipping any time that this is in stock, definitely picking it up. It would look gorgeous on top of some pink shadows I have. 🙂
I can only guess these were made to be toppers. Or else CP really dropped the ball. I didn’t order any of them.
