ColourPop Virtue & Tree Hugger Glossy Lip Stains Reviews & Swatches
Virtue
ColourPop Virtue Glossy Lip Stain ($8.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a bright, medium pinkish-coral with moderate, warm undertones and a glossy, cream finish. The product applied evenly and comfortably across my lips with a watery, thin feel that became slightly tackier and thicker after 30 seconds or so. It had medium, buildable color payoff that wore well for five hours and felt moisturizing while worn.

It's supposed to have the "long-lasting powers of a lip stain" with the "shine of a gloss" paired with "medium to buildable coverage" that is "non-drying." The initial texture was almost watery, overly spreadable (and the applicator often picked up more product than necessary, so take care during application) but dried down to a more satiny shine that was less glossy and more like a satin lipstick with some translucency.
The initial shine wore off within two hours, so it looked like a true satin finish--this was true of doing nothing or just taking a drink of a glass as it wasn't transfer-resistant. The stain did not power through a meal and tended to leave a very strong ring around the edges of my lips as it wore away so quickly while eating. Left to its own devices, most shades wore around six hours with a faint stain left behind.
It had medium, buildable coverage but quickly built to more semi-opaque coverage without an official second layer (just going back and forth to get an even layer of product). A couple of shades were truer to medium and others were more semi-opaque from the first layer.
There didn't seem to be any added fragrance nor taste while worn.

Tree Hugger
ColourPop Tree Hugger Glossy Lip Stain ($8.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a soft, medium orange-leaning coral with moderate, warm undertones and a glossy, cream finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which was buildable to full coverage with a second layer.
The texture was smooth and lightweight with a watery formula that developed some tackiness within 30 seconds of application. It stayed on well for five hours and was lightly hydrating over time.

Both look so perfect for this time of year! When it comes down to it, I could seems myself enjoying Tree Hugger much more often than Virtue. Tree Hugger just looks like it would go with so many more looks.
I think Tree Hugger is the more versatile shade out of the two for summer. Very pretty.
These are both very pretty and the formula sounds like something I would like. Add it to the list of things to try!
