Two to Tango

ColourPop Two to Tango Pressed Powder Eye Duo ($10.00 for 0.10 oz.) contained a shimmering purple and a deep plum. The two shades complemented each other well, though neither was particularly standout in terms of quality. This duo definitely needed a primer and some extra effort to work well. This duo is limited edition and part of the brand’s Valentine’s Day collection. Some of the duos are sold out, and I really hope ColourPop will consider releasing the shades individually, at the very least.

Double Date

Double Date is a muted, medium-dark violet purple with warmer undertones and a frosted finish. It had good pigmentation, and it was relatively easy to work with (aside from some fallout) on the lid. The texture was the problematic aspect of the product, as it was drier and looser, so it kicked up a lot of powder in the pan and was prone to sheering out on the lid. If you used a primer or a lightly tacky base, I think it would work just fine, or if you used a damp brush with it to help get the powder to bind better. As it stood, this shade wore for seven hours on me before fading.

Formula Overview

$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.

The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Two Much

Two Much is a deep plum with flecks of gold sparkle over a mostly satin finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage with a thinner texture that felt a bit firm in the pan but seemed to build up well. It was easiest to use with a fluffy brush in the crease or patted on with a flatter, synthetic brush and then blended with a fluffy brush, though it took some extra effort to diffuse. It wore nicely for seven and a half hours on me.

I really like the colors, but was worried about the quality, so I didn’t buy, kind of sad though because I see Two Much is a close dupe for LE LM Aubergine, which I didn’t get because it came in a set with other colors that I didn’t need
