Take Me Home

ColourPop Take Me Home 6-Pan Pressed Powder Shadow Palette ($12.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a six-pan palette with warm, neutrals–four mattes and two shimmers! They are previously-released shades, though I found Issues to be different enough than my previous version to merit a different name (hence the #2!) and “Bitter Better” was labeled “Better Bitter” in a past palette–they’re similar enough that I think they’re supposed to be the same shade but not 100% the same (see below).

Issues #2

Issues #2 is a bright, light-medium orange with warm undertones and a matte finish. It was moderately powdery in the pan, which led to more semi-opaque pigmentation that did not build up well, though it was very blendable when I wore it in my crease/above my crease as a transition shade. On me, it wore well for seven and a half hours.

Formula Overview

$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.

The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Side Tracked

Side Tracked is a medium brown with warm, orange undertones and flecks of gold sparkle over a matte finish. It hhad semi-opaque color payoff that was buildable to full coverage with a second layer. The powder was soft and velvety to the touch, but it was on the more powdery side. It stayed on well for eight hours with a touch of fallout from the sparkles (though there weren’t many to begin with, so it wasn’t noticeable unless I went looking for it!).

French Kiss

French Kiss is a deep, red-toned brown with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque pigmentation that applied evenly to my lid and blended out nicely. It lasted for eight and a half hours on me.

Salt Water

Salt Water is a medium orange with warm undertones and a frosted sheen. The texture was soft, fairy smooth, and blendable on the lid. It had good color payoff in a single layer that stayed on well for eight hours. It seemed a bit lighter than the single I have of this shade, though.

Popular Demand

Popular Demand is a medium-dark brown with warm undertones and a matte finish. It was richly pigmented but incredibly powdery, so my recommendation would be to pat a brush into the pan and tap off excess, then gradually build the coverage up to avoid fallout. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me.

Bitter Better

Bitter Better is a light-medium gold with warm undertones and a sparkling, frosted finish. It had good pigmentation with a soft, lightly loose texture that tended to apply better with a firm, flat brush or fingertips than a fluffy brush, which kicked up excess product in the pan. This shade lasted for eight hours on me with slight fallout.

I’m strangely glad that I ordered this from Sephora along with another bottle of Ole Henrikson Truth Serum with my coupon! It makes for a no-stress eye look for me, I only need a little MAC Orb on the browbone, really, so still great for on the run or trips, I think. The first time I used it, I actually used Issues #2 on my browbone. Not the worst, but the next day, I relegated it to transition shade status permanently!

Is Colourpop ever going to release a cool toned palette or cooler neutral palette? I’m getting warm-tone shadow fatigue, especially from them. I think they’re just repeating similar shades in every new palette now, and it’s pretty monotonous and boring. I have fair skin so I like cool tones, and this is another miss for me.

Kylie Avatar

There is now a palette called Vacation mode ! It’s very cool-toned but it’s limited edition so I’d run for it if I was you ! 🙂

Anna Avatar

This palette must be a joke. I cannot believe they release another warm toned palette.

I just got myself an icy blue Color Tattoo. I cannot stand warm toned eyeshadow anymore.
