Sucker
ColourPop Sucker Blotted Lips ($5.00 for 0.035 oz.) is a soft, medium coral with warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had semi-sheer, buildable coverage to medium opacity. The lipstick had a very lightweight feel–almost weightless–that was thin without feeling clingy. The texture was firmer initially, but it melted and felt more velvety after half a second on the lips. It wore well for four hours on me and wasn’t drying.
The Blotted Lip formula is described as a “sheer matte lipstick” that has “buildable” coverage that ranges from “light to medium” and has a “lightweight” feel. The formula had an interesting texture–firmer, waxy but velvety like a more silicone-heavy formula would feel–so it glided on with ease after it warmed up against the lips but initially felt quite firm in the tube. They look more like a lip stain than lipstick on the lips, as the consistency is thin and adheres well to lips–without emphasizing the texture of them–and the semi-sheer to medium coverage reinforces the stain-like appearance. The wear was average (usually around four hours) but was non-drying.

This formulation is so intriguing to me!
I think the matte lip trend looks beautiful on others, but I’ve shied away from it for myself because my lips look dry and I dunno…
Combined with the bright pigmentation, it just isn’t easy for me to wear.
But I definitely have to try these, especially for the price!
Love ColourPop…is it weird that I secretly hope to find them at Ulta one day? haha
It is different than most formulas I’ve tried!
I really like Sucker and On a Stick. :3
lol!
Those are my favorite colors too, if I can really get behind that blotted look.
Time to add On a Stick and Lolly to the list now too. They’re really nice, thankfully I have something similar to Sucker.
Phew! 🙂
Didn’t really understand the blotted finish, until you started to review them. Think I like the muting. Thanks.
I didn’t either — it is an interesting formula.
Crazy, but I want ’em all! There is just something about how these give an unbelievably smooth looking stained look to the lips that makes them different from anything else I have. I’m most impressed by Lolly. Getting a deep shade like this right is difficult enough in a regular strength pigment level, an even more challenging feat as a sheer matte!
I hope you can try one sometime, Nancy! I’d love to hear your thoughts.
I hve them all and they are really great. Lolly is a beautiful color. You won’t be disappointed! I wish they made a purple one!!
I have Ice Cube and I love it! It’s a really subtle mauve rosey pink on my fair skin. I love the feel of the lipstick. It’s really lightweight. And this colour is really versatile on me, it goes with nearly any eye look.
Happy to hear you’re enjoying Ice Cube, Lara! The formula is so interesting!
Lolly has been on my wish list since they came out.
I LOVE sheer/easy to chuck on lips!! I always start the day off with a pigmented lipstick, and as I eat, drink and chat. It wears off. So I usually reaply with one of these kinds of lipsticks!!
It would be very easy to reapply and wear, too!
Lolly is the winner for me out of these. It formula sounds very interesting. They all look beautiful. Intense but very soft at the same time, or something like that.
It is! I can’t really think of anything off the top of my head like it.
I really want to try these once I can make a new ColourPop order! I really like the look of On a Stick.
They are worth a try!
I have CP Sucker, mine looks more pigmented, haven’t worn it yet, but will try it out soon
Hope it works for you, Katherine!
Another gorgeous set of lip shades for the summer. For $5 these are perfect.
They are nice!
I really like the shade of On a Stick! It’s just a little pop of color on the lips, but doesn’t look too bold with that consistency!
These are my favorite! They feel so powdery on and comfortable. It’s perfect for the summer for that wash of color icicle kissed lips look. Glossier also makes a similar product but for $5 you can’t beat colourpop!
These all look great on you!!
I’ve been waiting for a brand to do this kind of look on lips my whole makeup life. Buuuttttt everything falls off my lips anyway so I’m not sure…
these look like exactly the opacity and finish I have been dreaming of for months! no excuse now not to grab a few!
These are fantastic even by Colourpop standards. They’re wonderful for the summer: matte and sheer is a very sophisticated finish, while being comfortable to wear and reapply. (I hate dry lips.) And low-maintenance.
Nice shades but I’m not sure about the formula. Everything has to be checked these days.
Totally understand, Erin!
i really want to try this—it seems like a more pigmented, less gimmicky version of glossier’s generation g lipsticks, which i find i have to swipe on about 10 times to build up any coverage at all. thanks as always for the reviews!
No problem, Lane! Keep us posted if these are the answer to your lip product search!
Oh wow. I only briefly saw the email from Colourpop while out of town and just by sound thought it was dumb and an easy pass. Now I’m getting caught up on reading blog posts and I’m kinda loving the finish on these. I may have to break my no-buy to get a couple.
I’ll say they are interesting – don’t know if they’ll be for everyone but wish more could try them. The texture is quite different.
These are very intriguing. I’ve been buying lip stain balms for years because of this effect, but they all have an unfortunate tendency to glossiness. These seem like what I really wanted all along.
Christine, I just wanted to say how helpful these reviews and swatches are! I have been eyeing these Blotted Lip colors for ages, but now am just deciding which one (or two!) to purchase.
I imagine your reviewing schedule is packed, but I’m sure your readers would love reviews and swatches of the “Ultra Blotted Lip” which is the liquid lip version of the original, if you have interest in reviewing those!
