ColourPop Spoon Super Shock Cheek
ColourPop Spoon Super Shock Cheek

ColourPop Spoon Super Shock Cheek ($8.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “light silver champagne with multi-dimensional silver flecks.” It’s a very light, champagne-beige base with a lot of multi-colored sparkle that flash pink, silver, and teal paired with a metallic sheen. This shade is particularly complex, because the more metallic sheen seems to give a brighter, almost pink-champagne color when I look at swatched in person, dead-on, but if it’s angled at all, it flashes warmer to the point where it blends into my skin tone completely. At other times, the sparkle seems to disappear, and other times, it is at the forefront. ColourPop Smokin’ Whistles (P, $8.00) is lighter, cooler-toned. ColourPop Lunch Money (P, $8.00) is lighter, less sparkly. ColourPop Double Dip (LE, $8.00) is warmer. Becca Opal (P, $38.00) is darker. Becca Moonstone (P, $38.00) is warmer. Estee Lauder Courreges (LE, $32.00) is lighter. MAC Mystery Princess (LE, $26.00) is powder. MAC Born to Dazzle (LE, $28.00) is powder. NARS 413 BLKR (P, $30.00) is more metallic. Becca Moonstone (P, $38.00) is a powder. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

This is one of the more sparkly shades in the line-up where the sparkles are noticeable on the skin, which may or may not be your cup of tea. It’s not smoothing out pores, but it’s not emphasizing them, despite how sparkly and metallic it is on the skin, but the sparkles scatter a bit as the color is blended on the skin, though they don’t seem to migrate–after eight hours, I wasn’t seeing stray sparkles on my chin, around my nose, or anywhere except the cheek bone that I applied it to. The texture is very smooth, lightly creamy, and the underlying color glides on effortlessly and blends well on the skin. It’s highly reflective on the skin when it catches the light, and at other times, almost imperceptible on my medium skin tone. It had opaque coverage if applied with a fingertip, and then sheerer coverage when applied with a stippling brush. When I tried applying with a stippling brush, it seemed to get more sparkle than color, so I preferred application with fingertips or a denser brush. On me, it lasted eight hours before breaking down.

I wasn’t sure about this one but per your description I’m glad I got it. I thought it looked like Mary Loumanizer, but no? Mary Lou is more gold?

I think this one is going to be annoyingly different on everyone and whatever lighting you happen to see it in. I could walk by one mirror and not see it AT ALL and then turn and it was like “Oh, there you are, pretty, pretty highlighter!” It really seems to shift being more of a bright, almost cool-toned beige to a warmer, champagne beige.

From what I researched, it’s supposed to be the most shimmery BANG highlighter one.. Depends on the searching, too, as well what you said. They can pass for Watt’s Up some days, and other days.. Be a mystery. That could be fun! Surprise highlights! πŸ˜€

The way that it seems to be multi-dimensional gives it the look of beautiful skin. Although I haven’t looked into it yet, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that there are colors available for dark skin.

Reviews are trusted here. But do check out YouTube for those who have searched them all and wave them/turning them in the light! There are a few different people and they all have totally different skin coloring! From light-very dark. All of them, to me, seem to be applicable to everybody! That.. Is amazing! Good luck to you! πŸ™‚

I was going to go for Smokin Whistles or Teasecake as my lighter choice, but SPARKLES.

Or maybe I’ll just get all of them because they’re $5 haha.

I went with Smokin’ whistles.. thought it pulled a little more neutral and spoon had a really familiar feel to it. Thanks for comparison swatches. Looks beautiful on you!!

I’ve been eyeing Spoon, Lunch Money, and Smokin Whistles, so that comparison shot was very helpful! I like the gold undertones for summer, but this one might be too sparkly for me. Eagerly awaiting your review on the others.

I am so obsessed with everything ethereal! Hence, these highlighters are so haunting me! I just fear the massive pile and barely touching them.. But like MJB Highliners, thank you btw for thinking of me :), I’d have to have them all. I was recently starting to just back to mac everything, too. (Making room) Uuuuggghhhhhhh I’m sooooo torn! Damn Coloupop’s massive free sends for you-tubers! Grrrr.. Not fair nor easy to ignore. But I’ve noticed no one in the reviews WORE THEM. Hyper mass advertising is scaring me from this brand. I JUST became interested because I trust YOUR reviews, Christine! That, and I love me white/lavender/pink duochromes aka MAC HYPEREAL Violet FX (a discontinued white liquid with violet/pink iridescent duochrome.. Ugh, so gorgeous to mix in light foundations on my pale pale skin..) I’m not sure if my logical not needing can surpass my WANT! Dammit! Glad I have awhile to think about it! πŸ˜› Again, you always look gorgeous. Oh, I’m still being hammered by UPS. πŸ™‚

Still working on the UPS one… they told me they couldn’t figure it out, and I’m still trying to replicate it on my phone!

Haha! Aww.. Thank you. My phone is an iPhone 5. I don’t know if that helps? But I thank you. I can put up with it. πŸ™‚

I really like this one…except for the “now you see, now you don’t ” aspect to it. That might just drive me squirrel-nutz!

I don’t generally like heavy amounts of “sparkles”. But, I the way you described this one has me curious. The fact that they don’t migrate is huge. So,I’ll probably have to try this one eventually.

Which ones would you recommend for nc42-43 skin? I bought Wisp but I wanna get a few more but I’m new to the brand and lost on what would look good =(

I’d probably just stay away from the more white-based ones, like Stole the Show, but the majority should look quite nice on NC42-43 skin. Check out Jackie Aina on YouTube – she has deeper skin and swatched them all; she mentioned that most of them are very good for dark skin tones πŸ™‚

Colour Pop has really outdone themselves with these highlighters! All of them have looked beautiful on you so far. I’ve been eyeing their products for a while now but I’m finally gonna take the plunge next week. I have to try these!
