ColourPop Silver Spoon Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches
Silver Spoon
ColourPop Silver Spoon Pressed Powder Shadow Quad ($9.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a new release that features one shimmery shade complemented by three matte shades for a more monochromatic, smoky eyed color story. All four shades had semi-opaque to opaque color payoff, were blendable, and lasted around eight hours on me.
This quad is one of six in a holiday vault, though ColourPop said they would be available individually when I asked, but they have not appeared individually on the site. It’s not realistic for me to review it as a set (takes much longer, but I also started testing them across sets already, and the system is better setup for a palette, not five palettes within a set, for readability!), so I decided to review them individually still.

Silver Medal
Silver Medal is a deep gray with neutral undertones and a metallic finish. The consistency was soft, a little drier to the touch, which made it have light fallout if applied with a dry brush. I’d use this with a dampened brush or gently pressed on with a fingertip for less fallout. It had rich pigmentation that wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Pricey
Pricey is a very light taupe with neutral-to-cool undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque color payoff paired with a smooth, velvety texture that was lightly powdery but not prone to fallout or sheering out too readily. It stayed on nicely for eight hours before fading a bit.

Spoon Up
Spoon Up is a darker, purpled-gray with cool undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation with a slightly firmer feel, though it wasn’t stiff or difficult to blend out. It lasted well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Late Date
Late Date is a rich, inky black with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. The texture was very silky and finely-milled with a little bit of powderiness that was mostly confined to the pan, though I’d use a lighter-hand with it as it was quite pigmented anyway. It wore well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Well this is a cute little cool-toned quad.
Even though I really love these shades, I do have Viseart Chroma, ND Glam Midi, and a multitude of similar such as is found here. So, I’d say that I’m satisfied in this department.
So many of the recent cool tone shadows have close dupes in CP stone cold fox. Glad I decided to get that one.
A well co-ordinated quad, although I do think the matte black shade could have been a satin grey shade to give the quad that bit more depth.
Oh this is pretty! I’ll probably be getting this when it’s available outside the set.
Even though I have far more black eyeshadows than I will ever use in my lifetime (and I have limited need for black shadows) and, like Genevieve, I dislike how often black shadows are included in so many palettes, I really like this little beauty for its cool-toned practicality. Once again, I can’t help wishing I could just nip out to the store and buy this, because I most certainly would!
I like the smokey color story a lot. The metallic gray and purplish taupe make it a little more interesting, and it would be more flattering on me than matte gray and black palettes. I’d actually buy this if it were sold alone.
I really like this quad. I don’t need any more blacks, but the rest of the shades look very lovely.
I might get this if/when it’s sold individually.
