ColourPop Set in Stone Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
Set in Stone
ColourPop Set in Stone 10-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($16.00 for 0.49 oz.) is a new, warmer-toned neutral palette that includes one cream eyeshadow (new formula), four shimmer eyeshadows, and five matte eyeshadows. They were pigmented, blendable, and easy enough to use with a few shades having light fallout due to larger sparkles or some powderiness.

Rock Solid
Rock Solid is a soft orange with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had medium, buildable pigmentation with a creamy, thin, and slightly firmer feel to the touch. It was lightly tacky for about 45 seconds before setting for the most part. It wore well for eight hours on me before creasing visibly.

Stone Werk
Stone Werk is a light, yellowy gold with moderate, warm undertones and a sparkling finish. The texture was slightly drier to the touch and more loosely-pressed, so there was a bit of fallout during the initial application. I would recommend applying this shade with a dampened brush or a fingertip. It had opaque color coverage that stayed on well for eight hours on me before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

It’s nice. But, I’m pretty sure that I already have similar looking shades. Because I have too much eyeshadow, though. 🤭
Considering the volume of products ColourPop manages to churn out, it is rather amazing that they maintain this quality. One C in the bunch. That is pretty impressive. With ColourPop, if it is a day of the week that ends in “day” then there must be a new palette drop. Honestly, for their price point, you could have a lot of nice shadows for little money. When you look at the Dior 4 pans for $55 to $60 and you can get 6, 9, 12 pans for less than $20! Not interested in this one so an easy pass.
I think most of Dior’s offerings are 5 pans (not that that makes a big difference in the price point). But look what Tom Ford charges for 4 pans of often dubious quality!!! I think this is a really nice palette and one that a lot of people will find very useful. It’s the sort of thing that, if I were new to makeup, I would probably want but I think many of us here already have these colours over and over again.
I actually really like this palette – the mattes don’t interest me, but I love the colours of the shimmer shades. Unfortunately there is a bit of fall out with most of them – I wonder if this is similar to Lorac’s Noir palette? The Lorac shades have a bit of fall out too and are more loosely pressed into the pan as well.
But for the price – I think this is pretty good.
I wonder what CP’s reasoning behind the cream was. Is it suppose to be a base? Usually when they put SSS, they’re lids but this cream is satin. But I would also expect a base to be matte. I’m confused at the intent!
This is really pretty, but it reminds me of a Lorac Unzipped palette. (not sure which one)
