ColourPop Seismic Super Shock Cheek Review & Swatches

ColourPop Seismic Super Shock Cheek (Highlighter)

Seismic

ColourPop Seismic Super Shock Cheek (Highlighter) ($8.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a bright, very light beige with strong, warm undertones and a sparkling, almost glittery, finish with a high-shine sheen. The texture was smooth, thin, and lightly emollient–consistent with the formula–that yielded more opaque coverage when applied and patted onto the skin with a fingertip and more semi-sheer to medium, buildable pigmentation when applied with a synthetic brush.

The product applied well over bare skin as well as over foundation without being prone to lifting it up. I had no trouble building up the product if desired. I felt that it was more sparkly and shiny in person than it translated in photos (where the larger particles just seem to lose something), and for those who prefer subtler finishes, this one is not that–it was intense, sparkling, and wet-looking. There was very little migration of the larger particles after 10 hours of wear.

Formula Overview

$10.00/0.15 oz. - $66.67 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have "buildable" coverage and can be applied with fingertips (which will yield "higher coverage") or a brush (for sheerer coverage). It's a cream-based product that has a subtle, "wet" feel to it but never has the thickness of a true cream-based blush.

It goes on with the smoothness of a cream formulation but diffuses and blends (without lifting up one's base) more like a powder product. The product sets to a powder finish, so the product won't slide around during the day.

On me, the wear tends to be between eight and 10 hours. Most shades have medium, buildable pigmentation with some being semi-opaque to opaque on occasion. They are typically blendable, easy to use, and long-wearing.

Boy, can screen images be deceiving. On this device, the HL in your photo looks low beam and not that intense or sparkling at all. It has ~1/3 the beam of your inner corner HL. Far more sparkly in the swatch. On my device, the applied HL looks more like the LM cult one. Just odd.
