Peachy Keen

ColourPop Peachy Keen Super Shock Shadow Quad ($18.00 for 0.28 oz.) includes four warm-toned neutrals. Three of the shades are ones we’ve seen before; only Kennedy is new (at least, I can’t recall that one). All four performed well, and they coordinated well with enough contrast and variety of finishes to create a few looks out of them.

Crimper

Crimper is a light gold with lighter white gold glitter over a metallic finish. It had rich color payoff with a smooth, moderately emollient texture that felt wet to the touch but had the spongy texture of the Super Shock Shadow. It applied well and lasted for ten hours with almost no fallout.

Formula Overview

$5.00/0.07 oz. - $71.43 Per Ounce

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow is a cream-based formula that comes in a multitude of shades and finishes. The more metallic shades have the most slip to them (they have a “wetter” feel), while the more matte ones have a firmer, more clay-like consistency. Almost every shade I’ve tried from ColourPop has been exceptionally long-wearing (10+ hours of wear, usually there until I remove, even 14 hours later). The pigmentation can vary from shade to shade, but the average shade is quite pigmented.

From feedback I’ve seen from readers, many love them but some don’t like them at all. They aren’t a traditional cream eyeshadow, as they are denser (more sponge-like), and they apply best with flat, firm, synthetic brushes (I like the MAC 242 and 249) for me. The brand recommends using fingers for the most pigmented application, but I’ve only felt that fingers were necessary on a few shades (usually the super glittery ones).

The more matte shades can be on the drier side and vary from medium to opaque in coverage, though they're often buildable.  They can be a little hard to diffuse the edges of, though some are lovely to work with.

The more glittery shades have been the weakest to me, as they can be sheerer or harder to apply.  Sometimes, they are more pigmented and work like the other finishes in the formula, but often, they are sheerer and only function well patted on top of more pigmented eyeshadows to add glitter.  They do, however, tend to have little fallout over time with the occasional shade having a more moderate amount of fallout (but still less fallout than most powder eyeshadows with glitter).

Kennedy

Kennedy is a bright, light-medium orange with warm, yellowy undertones and a satin finish. There was just a smidgen of very fine gold shimmer in it, even though it was listed as a matte. The pigmentation was great–totally opaque–while the texture was spongy, smooth, an blendable, but I did notice that it was a little drier and had a tendency to require layering on the lid to get even, opaque coverage overall. It wore well for ten hours without creasing.

Cornelious

Cornelious is a muted, medium brown with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The color payoff was fantastic, while the texture was smooth, dense without being too firm or dry, and easy to work with on the lid, as it blended and diffused with ease. This shade lasted for ten hours without creasing or fading.

Bandit

Bandit is a deep red-brown with warm undertones and flecks of fine, silver sparkle over a mostly matte finish. It had intense, opaque pigmentation that applied smoothly and evenly on bare skin. The texture felt spongy, smooth, and had just enough creaminess to apply with ease but did not smear or streak. I didn’t see any signs of fading or creasing after ten hours of wear.

Well, with this collection of shadows and lippies, it looks like ColourPop is also on a peach theme, except the quality is much better than Too Faced’s Sweet Peach collection. I have Crimper, and it’s a beautiful shadow

More warm neutrals, anyone! No, I’m sorry to be so snarky, since the quality is excellent and I think Crimper is really pretty. I wish ColourPop sold all their shades individually!

Oooh, I like this color combo! Enough that I am pretty darn sure I could dupe these within my stash. I have MAC Soft Brown, Arena, Dazzlelight (or ABH Primavera), and Brown Script can blend so nicely with Folie to give me something within the same vein as Bandit. I’m also sure that for whatever may be slightly off that I’ve listed, there’s definitely something else around here that’ll do even better!
#ConfessionsOfAWarmEyeshadowHoarder

i love that you gave Mac alternatives, I can make up my own palette, and get the peach theme. I think I will also add something with little more orange/coral. thanks so much.

I really like Colour Pop, some misses, but a lot of winners and the price is so nice 🙂
I like this set a lot, maybe I’ll just take a peek at their website later today.

I’ve never met a warm neutral I didn’t like, and in most cases buy. I like all of these. This said, I have dupes for all. So will have to think about it.

What a nice set of swatches. Fairly dupable, but anyone who hasn’t got them should jump on these post haste. At CP price and that performance, a true winner, and a solid alternative to the tf overhype/overscent.

Hi Christine, I was looking at the Makeup Geek Creme Brulee dupes page and Colourpop Cornelius showed up as one! Do you think it is a suitable dupe and comparable in quality?

Thanks 🙂

I think it is in terms of color and quality, but you may find powder to be easier to work with, particularly if you’re using it in the crease or with a lot of other eyeshadows!

I love bandit and cornelious, they have amazing color payoff and blend like heaven….however, crimper felt a little too glitery and not as pigmented as i would like to, on me it also had some fall out that leave my cheeks all glitery…i will thank any application tips since i’ve read some great reviews on this shade. And kennedy is a lovely peach shade but a little patchy and a lot less pigmented than i expected, but it builds up nicely and wears out like a dream on oily lids since it really does not crease
