I just listed Gritty + Glow as my favourite holiday palette also. And I also didn’t purchase any “sets”. I wonder if many of us here, who have been coming here for some time, have amassed such large stashes that sets no longer have much appeal (generally, I’d rather buy 1 or 2 eye pencils or lip glosses I really want than have a ‘pre-selected’ batch of 6 or 8, most of which I probably won’t use after the very short-lived novelty wears off). I wonder if many of us just feel we’ve got too much stuff already to be adding lots of random stuff no of our own choosing.
I haven’t been ordering ‘sets’ or palettes for quite some time because there is more that I don’t use than do use. I have to wonder if cosmetic companies throw in a color or two – or three – that don’t sell well and this is a good way to get rid of their inventory? Just a thought.
Unless I’m forgetting something major, I don’t think I had any favorites this year. I apologize in advance for my negativity.
I think the thing that disappointed me most was the Tarte 4-piece tarteist eyeliner set. I’m still trying to get it to not transfer to my lids, so it might actually get returned. If anyone has any tips, I’m all ears. I feel like you shouldn’t have to prime and powder your eyes to get a gel liner in that price range to work.

Favorite holiday collection: NARS Sarah Moon collection.
Least favorite: I did not love the MAC’s Nutcracker Sweet collection.

Favorite holiday palette this year? Is the KVD MetalMatte Palette considered a “holiday” palette? It’s limited edition, so I’m considering it one. It’s so nice, I love all the colors, I get excited when I use this palette.
Favorite holiday set this year? My favorite set was my Bite Beauty The Perfect Bite set. I love all these colors!
Least favorite holiday palette/set this year? Can I just say all of TooFaced? I wish all their holiday sets performed better because I love how they look, but with such bad quality I can’t bring myself to buy them.

Viseart Bijou royal ! The muted jewel tones are gorgeous and easy to wear on a daily. The shimmer is elegant. No fallout; great payoff…. I don’t have any rant ?

The beautylish x chikuhodo sakura set. After 3 months I am still extremely satisfied by it.
Also enjoy the Jouer 8mini liquid lipsticks set a lot!

Favorite holiday palette this year? maybe UD Afterdark or Estee Edit Gritty & Glow. I haven’t bought any holiday palettes yet this year though. I’m waffling on those 2 or the UD Junkie lip palette.

Least favorite holiday palette/set this year? I don’t think I have a least favorite, there’s just a lot that I’m just not interested in.

Favorite holiday set this year? I’m guessing what we’re going for with set, but for me, it’ll be the Cle de Peau Annees Folles collection with the eye palette and two lip palettes. You don’t get them as a set, but I’m going with it. I don’t think I bought any true definition “sets” this year.
Least favorite holiday palette/set this year? Considering I only bought the Armani, Cle de Peau and Tom Ford holiday palettes, I guess most things didn’t appeal to me? I think I’m more one to prefer to choose my products individually or want specific shades, so I don’t usually go for the collections that come out with 5+ lip and blush options. I could think of it as picky or selective based on knowing what works for me. Let’s go with the latter!

Favorite holiday palette this year? Kat von D Metal Matte. It’s my favorite palette of the year.
Favorite holiday set this year? Even though the palettes weren’t the best, I think the MAC Nutcracker Sweet collection is overall really nice, and I love the packaging.
Least favorite holiday palette/set this year? The Too Faced holiday collection was “meh” this year. I’m not impressed with MAC x Mariah Carey, either.
Your skin tone/coloring: Between fair and light; very cool undertones in skin, warm and cool colors in eyes 🙂
Favorite holiday palette this year? Not sure that either qualifies as holiday, because they were released earlier, but Viseart Bijou Royal and Kat Von D MetalMatte are my most favorite recent palette purchases. Of palettes that came out for the holidays, NARS Give In Take Dual-Intensity.
Favorite holiday set this year? Sets of mini lipsticks! MAC Nutcracker Sweet Pink and Sweet Red, Best Bite Redux, the Smashbox mini set and Fresh Sugar Lip Seduction are all great. I haven’t purchased it (yet), but am enamored of Bite’s Amuse Bouche Vault collection.
Least favorite holiday palette/set this year? I was mostly disappointed with eyeshadow palettes this year, because they were all shades that aren’t particularly flattering on me. Then the quality of Urban Decay’s Full Spectrum palette was a real disappointment, especially after they did such a great job last year! I really, really, really wish Make Up For Ever would come out with a greater variety of sets with their Artist Shadow/Blushes, using shades they haven’t put in sets before! A palette or set of shades that work for blush, contouring and highlighting would be great. A set with a large and small-sized palettes using easily moved around, metallic pans that includes workhorse base, crease, lining and highlighting shades plus sparkly and metallic accent shades so that you can custom-make your own small palettes from your larger one. They could even have a range of choices of workhorse shades — warm or cool, for light or deep complexions, matte or satin finishes. Then ranges of colors: yellows and golds, peaches and coppers, pinks and purples, blues, greens, bronzes and browns, silvers and blacks. All in interchangeable sets of four to six shades. It could be really cool, compared to the random repeats of popular shades that they’re doing now!

Favorite holiday palette this year? Smashbox’s Cover Shot palettes; haven’t bought any yet — they’re out today I think — but it’s the only palette on my list this season so I’m going with it.
Favorite holiday set this year? Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche duos — I have 3 of the 4.
Least favorite holiday palette/set this year? Many I’m not interested in; there aren’t any I purchased but was disappointed with.

Favorite Holiday palette this year: I have 2! KVD Metal Matte and Estee Edit Gritty & Glow are both perfection! Love!!!
Favorite Holiday set this year: MAC Nutcracker Sweet standalones like Sweet Copper Cheek duo, LE Lipsticks, and the gorgeous Sweet Visions blush! Also, Nars x Sarah Moon collex! I have and adore the Velvet Lip Glide set from Sarah Moon!
Least favorite set this year: EVERYTHING Too Faced and Tarte. Just awful quality for the most part and painfully BORING, DULL shades in Too Faced. Blelch!

Least favorite holiday palette/set this year? Maybe the Nars Give In Take palette – I really wanted to “need” it but couldn’t justify it as there was really only one shade (an eyeshadow) that I “needed”.

Favorite holiday set this year? Bite Beauty (all of their sets are awesome! I bought the discovery set for a few friends because it has a bit of everything in it).
Least favorite holiday palette/set this year? I usually look forward to eyeshadow palettes the most at Christmas, but I’ve found them largely uninspiring this year. And everything is very warm-toned…which is fine. But I’d love to see some good quality more balanced palettes (warm and cool).
Light-medium with STRONG warm-yellow tones. My favorite recently released palette is definitely the new UD one or ABH Modern Renaissance. The former is very unique and fills a void in recently-released palettes (the world needs more duochromes). ABH MR is right up my alley because I love warm matte rosey-plum nudes. It’s almost perfect except the packaging. I think the Kylie Jenner holiday palette composition looks really nice too but I haven’t played with that one so I can’t tell for sure.
Not a fan of the KVD Metal Matte palette. I didn’t think the quality of the mattes was there and the palette is so bulky. The color composition is also not very flattering on my skin tone.
My favorite holiday set is definitely the “Sephora Favorites” sets they put out. I got a $28 mascara one that has a voucher for a full size inside so it’s basically getting 5-6 deluxe samples for free and those last me ages anyway. The perfume ones are always nice too.

Favorite holiday palette this year? I didn’t go for any specifically “holiday” palettes, just the ABH Modern Renaissance one.
Favorite holiday set this year? Jo Malone’s Cologne Intense set. I’ve been planning on getting it since last year.
Least favorite holiday palette/set this year? Pretty much everything Too Faced, Tarte, and the Hourglass one. The first two are too kitsch-y and childish, and the latter I’ve never liked the bronzers or highlighters from, just the blushes and the ambient lighting powders.
Skin tone/coloring: warm, light skin
Favorite holiday palette: I bought my first one ever, Bobbi Brown Wine palette. Love it so far!
Favorite holiday set: Probably Chikuhodo/Beautylish Sakura set or the Bobbi Brown travel brush set.
Least favorite: maybe the Guerlain holiday release? After last year’s Meteorites, this year’s seems disappointing in comparison.

Favorite Holiday Palette: I haven’t purchased a palette since late summer. I just have not seen anything that has spoken to me enough to actually plunk down money for it but I have purchased a couple of quads which I don’t consider palettes. I purchased the Lancôme Palette des Reves primarily because it was curated by Lisa Eldridge and I have been able to work with it but it doesn’t really WOW me.
Favorite Holiday Set: The only sets I have purchased is the Nars Sara Moon blush and all of the Bite Duos. I have really been enjoying the Bite duos.
Least Favorite: Okay so there are definitely more failures for me this year than not but all of the Tarte and Two Faced offerings were beyond terrible. I imagine a lot of people feel the same way. Overall it has been disappointing. Oh, I have to mention the Guerlain Meteorites for the holiday. I always buy the holiday meteorites and love them but even that was just so/so this year. Maybe it is me and not the products. Maybe I have become jaded.

Favorite holiday palette this year? MAC Nutcracker Sweet eye palettes, MAC Nutcracker Sweet Face Compacts (Peach, Copper). I think I’m really going to love the Tom Ford Winter Soleil palettes, once I try them.
Favorite holiday set this year? MAC Nutcracker Sweet collection, Tom Ford Winter Soleil collection. I love that MAC’s was SO HUGE (almost always too much overwhelms me but I really enjoyed a lot of what MAC had this year) and Tom Ford’s was, in contrast, small and well-edited.
Least favorite holiday palette/set this year?
* Not really impressed with what Chanel offered, but that’s probably because they weren’t my colors. I love the Tisse formula and am looking forward to seeing what they will offer for Spring.
* Also, while I love the packaging and the color scheme (am a sucker for neutrals), I’m pretty sure I will not be purchasing anything from the MAC x Mariah Carey collection. Normally I would be all over it but 1) I’ve recently purchased quite a bit that will keep me busy for some time, 2) I have dupes for just about all of it, and 3) I just do not care for her. Never say never (I might cave if they go in rotation on the Goodbyes) but I just don’t see it happening right now. There was a question some time ago about a spokesperson having any influence on whether one would buy a collection, and I can’t remember my answer (I’m thinking I was probably trying to give myself the benefit of the doubt and said it wouldn’t have any real effect) but between the Miley Cyrus, Arianna Grande and now Mariah Carey, I can definitely say now that a spokesperson heavily influences whether or not I would buy product. Then again, I thought Victoria Beckham’s release was an eyeroll but I now have the highlighter and the eyeshadow palette, so go figure.

The colors are soft, pretty, and just work well with my skin tone. Favorite holiday set this year? Too Faced Funfetti collection. I just love it. The colors are very similar to Merry Macarons but I don’t care; I really wanted that set! The lipgloss is hydrating so that was a good thing. I also liked the Nars × Sarah Moon Mind Game set. Least favorite holiday palette/set this year? Easy one- the Huda Kattan Beauty Palette glitter bomb. I can’t believe I bought that thing.

Favorite holiday palette this year? The UD Full Spectrum palette is pretty awesome! Swatched it in store but ended up going with the Moondust palette instead. Still, as far as holiday/winter releases go the Full Spectrum palette is really fun, I think.

Favorite holiday palette this year? Although I haven’t received them yet, I ordered the NARS Unfiltered I and II cheek palettes. These are the only items that truly excited me and I am so anxious to receive them! And I know it’s not a palette and it came out just before the holiday season, but I also love the Becca Rose Quartz Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed.
Favorite holiday set this year? Urban Decay the Perfect 3some Vault. I actually didn’t own any of the Naked eyeshadow palettes and I just couldn’t pass this one up because it was such a good value.
Least favorite holiday palette/set this year? Nothing I’ve purchased has disappointed me, but from what I’ve seen I am so over Too Faced’s holiday packaging, plus their eyeshadow colors have been uninspiring. I also am not impressed with MAC x Mariah Carey.

Favorite holiday palette this year? EH, ummm none. They all look the same as last year. Nothing has been inviting enough. If I were to say soley based off looks, Kat Von D’s had a nice look to it.
Favorite holiday set this year? I got the Smashbox Light It Up mini lipstick set, UGH so gorgeous. I love Smashbox anyway and the mini’s are life so that really made me happy. The Sephora Give Me Bold Lips is a nice dark winter set. I didn’t get it because I have enough dark but it’s def gift worthy.
Least favorite holiday palette/set this year? hmmm urban decay – do they have to have the same kind of colors EVERY year!! They’re bulky and excessive. Natasha Denona because you can’t make me be okay with those ridiculous prices lol. Tarte, their holiday stuff always look kiddie with all the cardboard ish. It’s too girly for me personally.

My favorite set was the skin care set by FAB- I buy the set they come out with every year, I love them.
Those were the only two holiday items I purchased and I am very happy with them. I swatched some of the TooFaced holiday stuff in stores and wasn’t impressed.
