ColourPop Matte About Hue Palette Swatches
ColourPop Matte About Hue Palette is the newest mega-sized palette from the brand, and it’ll launch on August 4th. ColourPop said that this palette is the result of the community’s feedback and that they were officially accepting the challenge I issued last December after they released the Gone Matte palette. (“Now, I dare ColourPop to do it again… but give us some slightly desaturated colorful tones in an all-matte format; then you’ll have just about all the matte eyeshadows one could ask for. “)
You can use code TEMPTALIA for 10% off your ColourPop orders, including this palette, and for the month of August, I will receive higher commission on sales of this specific palette.
ColourPop Matte About Hue Palette
And hey, since it worked once before, here’s my next challenge — all-shimmer palette filled with duochromes, an introduction to multichromes, and rich pearl and metallics. I envision the first row being duochromes (as shown) or doing a row of lighter, more translucent duochrome/iridescent transformer shades with some additional duochromes scattered throughout.
Keeping in mind reality, maybe three or four multichrome shades – two black-based and two using a colored base. I imagine the very last row to being deeper, richer but really smooth, satin-to-pearl kind of shimmer, so they could almost blend out to semi-matte if desired. The inspiration, overall, is crystal/mineral-inspired!
I’ll never understand why we haven’t seen an all duochrome/transformative shimmer palette from more brands! I think monochromatic quads could even work here – translucent duochrome/shifter, two duochromes, and then anchored by a deeper, satin-pearl or semi-matte.
Wow, there’s not a single color in this entire palette that I would use!
Seraphine, I had the EXACT same reaction! If pressed (or bribed/offered 50 bucks), I might wear Camp but that’s about it. I’m sure there are people who will love this palette but you and I aren’t among them. I’ve got the feeling that Genvieve won’t be on board with this one either!
I could use at least nine!
However no yellow or orange colors for me, I’d look seriously ill and/or sick.
Love it and will purchase ASAP. Thanks for getting the swatches up early.
I hope they credited you – you really were the whole inspiration for this palette! I can’t wait to see if they accept your next challenge. I’m ready for the ColourPop multichromes!
Yes to EVERYTHING you just said! They ought to give Christine credit, because it was her idea in the first place. And; absolutely yes to mainstream, affordable multichromes!
The thing about rainbow palettes: if you have one – you have them all.
I love this! Other than the blue row these are colors I use all the time. The blues I would still use for a pop of color here or there, but man those oranges, pinks, greens, and purples are calling my name. I don’t really need a big rainbow palette, but having these be all matte it would be useful for easy pairings with my ridiculously large SS collection! My CP mattes are kind of hit and miss, so I’ll wait to see how others feel they perform before deciding if I want to get this or not.
And how many of these aren’t “safe for use in the immediate eye area”?
3!
While I like the looks of this all matte, less vivid palette, I’m definitely down for your newest challenge to ColourPop. That one you put together is a stunner!!!
Thank you, Nancy!
Christine! Look what you made happen for all of us! This palette caught my eye immediately. For the looks I like to do, this is so useable. Just when I think I could not possibly need another eye shadow palette… I can definitely get a lot of use out of this. Excellent work. Thanks!
My pleasure, Sydney!
What a great looking palette! It’s terrific that they took on your challenge! I’m not into a matte only rainbow palette, but I would line up to buy the shimmer/duochrome/multichrome rainbow palette and then buy the all-matte one to use with it! On the other hand, maybe I could use an all matte rainbow palette. Anytime I need a certain matte color I could count on it being in there! Hmmm . . .
It is really cool that they did!
I NEED IT.
How fun! I like how they’re accepting your challenges. It really does go to show how influential you have been to the beauty community. This palette is definitely fun, and I’m tempted, but I REALLY want the desaturated tones you came up with last time. Also, this all shimmer/crystal palette that you dreamt up would be amazing to own.
As to why brands haven’t done it, my guess is it’s to keep us buying more. When they conveniently leave out a few shades here and there, we’ll get excited when another palette comes out and includes few of those shades we’re lacking.
Thank you so much Christina!
Your people row is insanely better! Their’s is awful omg ðŸ˜
I’m not usually a rainbow palette person, as beautiful as I think they are. This one though, total winner. I look forward to a large mostly duochrome with some multi chrome’s thrown in palette, especially if it has several transformer shades. Yeah I’d be all about it.
It seems that the brand has listened to you Christine! And so they should, you are the very best makeup blogger in the universe!
These mattes look perfect in the swatches and I think CP has done a great job here.
And I echo your thoughts of creating a shimmer/metallic palette too. I have often really liked CP’s soft shimmers and metallic shades (No PET glitter though) and I think I mentioned it in another recent post re one of their palettes, that I wished they would do a whole shimmer palette. If CP added in their old stunner Snakebite, I would be in eyeshadow heaven.
By the way, the one you have designed Christine is absolutely perfect – like all the makeup you do. I sincerely hope the brand considers this – and it would be my first CP eyeshadow purchase.
we can only hope!!
….and there’s no BLACK shadow included (I know it’s a thorn in your side as well as mine!) But so many pink and orange shadows – 10 or more – makes this a real loser in my books. The “Christine designed” one, though, is a totally different story! Still a few orange shadows I could happily do without, but so many others that look delicious.
I’m glad they accepted your challenge!
This palette looks pretty good! I have a lot of colors, but they’re mostly all shimmer. Having matte options might be worth me buying this.
It’s very pretty. Congratulations on having your challenge accepted.
I’d love to see an all duochrome palette.
Okay – I’m sort of confused (stop laughing!) – the bottom palette doesn’t really exist? Is it something you’re imagining/hoping for, Christine, in the hope that CP will actually make it? The first one – the all matte – is so not appealing to me (all matte and too many orange and very warm toned colours and, again, the sorts of colours I do like are matte!!!)
Yes, the second one is one I wish existed!
Some of the purples could’ve been more…purpley but I think this will still get a lot of love from fans who want more variety in a mega palettes.
Good job Christine trying to help companies get “real” for us. This palette is pretty close to the one you suggested in the Gone Matte palette post, not quite as desaturated for some of the colors, but close. And in suggested palette, except for the pinks (but I admit it’s a personal thing), the latter palette you are suggesting would be GREAT!
Of course, and it’s a me thing again (I know it’s not just about me, but I’m just sharing what I’d like to see), I’d want more everyday, wearable duo, multi chromes and shimmers, like the ones you’ve recently reviewed from Terra Moon or older examples from ND & PMG. I’m not into these rainbow, every-color-in-the-world palettes. I do recognize that for newcomers to eye shadows, they bring a bang for the buck and a variety of selection. Aesthetically though, the color scheme doesn’t appeal to me nor incite me to use such palettes.
Overall I really like it, but the purple row is disappointing. I really wish it was more true purple instead of berry toned purple. It would have been so easy to mix the pinks with true purples to get the berry tone purples.
