ColourPop Lucky Penny Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
Lucky Penny
ColourPop Lucky Penny 9-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($14.00 for 0.32 oz.) is a new, very warm-toned set of neutrals that included four shimmery eyeshadows and five matte eyeshadows. All nine shades were pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing, and it was actually one of the more consistent and better-performing palettes from the brand in the last year. I do think that the color story could have benefited from changing out one of the mid-depth shades (like Hit It Big) for something much deeper than Bullion, because the colors can muddy a bit due to closeness in depth.

LELimited Edition. $14.00.
Shiny Objects

It had opaque pigmentation with a smooth, lightly emollient texture that delivered an even layer of product that wasn’t prone to fallout. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading a bit.

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Pretty subtle for copper. Not highly metallic. Two years ago, would def have gone for this. Now….a bit too much e/s for life. Suspect I can dupe the feel. I’ve been loving using the swatch feature on palettes, after I read the review. I think doing that gives you an appreciation of how everything could come together in looks, etc.
I purchased this before review. These are shades I can easily reach for daily. I absolutely love the deep rich heavily orange and red based theme to this palette; totally my jam. Glad it reviewed well. I do not have it yet (shipped), but looking forward to having this in stash.
I think this is a familar colour story from CP – although the brand has done this well. Many of the shades will look similar on the eye and the palette would have benefitted from a contrasting shade – an olive green or a blue.
Really lovely quality on this one, but I feel like I can find enough dupes within what I have already. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t like it a lot!
These are not the colors I normally wear, but this looks like a beautiful palette for those that do wear these colors. And such a nice rating, which is a rarity on some CP palettes lately.
At first glance, it seems a perfect dupe of huda beauty’s nude medium obsession palette.
Way, way too orange- for me to touch with a 10-foot pole… 3 of the mattes look nearly identical, as do 2 of the metallics, so this looks like a 1-trick pony, on top.
I used your palette vs. palette tool to compare this with Naked Heat. They’re surprisingly different. I’m good since they’re still similar, though!
