ColourPop Head Capricorn in Charge Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches
Head Capricorn in Charge
ColourPop Head Capricorn in Charge Pressed Powder Shadow Quad ($9.00 for 0.21 oz.) included two shimmer shades (warm pewter, light peach) and two matte shades (light taupe, deep brown). All four shades were excellent–pigmented, long-wearing, easy to use, and blendable.

Hustle Hard
Hustle Hard is a bright, light-medium golden pewter with strong, warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish that looked almost wet it was so shiny. The texture was smooth, lightly emollient without being too thin or prone to sheering out, so it maintained its opacity when applied to bare skin and had good adhesion despite feeling a touch drier in the pan. It wore nicely for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Play Hard
Play Hard is a very bright and light peach with a high-shine, metallic finish. The consistency was smooth to the touch, almost springy, but it was dense without being overly thick and had a touch of dustiness, so it did seem to apply better with a fingertip or dampened brush to avoid fallout. It had opaque color payoff that applied evenly and stayed on well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Ambition
Ambition is a muted, light-medium taupe with neutral-to-warm undertones and a matte finish. It had rich color coverage paired with a smooth, velvety texture that was almost cream-like as it adhered well to even very dry skin (like my arm). It lasted well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Independent
Independent is a deep brown with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was smooth, velvety, and somewhat powdery in the pan, but it applied evenly, blended out well, and wasn’t prone to sheering out too readily. It had opaque pigmentation that wore nicely for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

I know that I don’t believe in that hoodoo, but I swear the names fit my daughter, and she is one! That girl Da Boss!
Very nice small palette. My kind of colours!
I really do like this little taupe shaded beauty – especially the first shade.
This would be a nice little palette to keep in a makeup bag for on the go. Surprisingly out of the 4 shades, I only have a dupe for one! I wasn’t expecting to like this palette, but your review proved me wrong. The three shades I don’t have dupes for are the ones I like. They’re more neutral in tone instead of the usual very warm or orange. Chalk one up for Colourpop! 🙂
this is like my ideal neutral quad. I am definitely gonna grab this. (and it’s my moon sign!)
Terrific basic neutral travel palette with good performance and at a great pricepoint. I’ll be getting this.
This one and Scorpio are on the way to me and will be the first quads that I own. I hemmed and hawed about how “basic” the Capricorn one looked… but I kept thinking about it and am really excited to play with it when it arrives. It’s a perfect little palette!
