ColourPop Fall 2019 Shadows Reviews & Swatches (Part 4 of 5)
So Meta
ColourPop So Meta Pressed Powder Shadow ($4.50 for 0.05 oz.) is a rich, medium-dark yellow with strong, warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It was intensely pigmented with a smooth, more loosely-pressed texture, though it wasn’t prone to powderiness or fallout during application. The eyeshadow lasted nicely for eight hours on me before fading a bit.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Trooper
ColourPop Trooper Pressed Powder Shadow ($4.50 for 0.05 oz.) is a deep yellow with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was soft, a little powdery in the pan, but it applied evenly and retained its intensity when blended, so it was easy to work with. It had nearly opaque color coverage that stayed on well for eight hours on me.

Love Note
ColourPop Love Note Pressed Powder Shadow ($4.50 for 0.05 oz.) is a bright pop of lemony yellow with moderate, warm undertones and a metallic finish. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer, while the texture was smooth to the touch but a bit denser and more firmly-pressed into the pan, so it needed to be used with a heavier hand to pick up product evenly. It applied evenly and blended out without difficulty, though. There were signs of fading after eight hours of wear.

Gridlock
ColourPop Gridlock Pressed Powder Shadow ($4.50 for 0.05 oz.) is a bright, medium bluish-teal with cool undertones and a sparkling, frosted finish. It had nearly opaque color coverage that applied unevenly to bare skin and was a challenge to build up due to the texture.
It was very firmly-pressed into the pan to the point where it was both thicker and quite stiff, so I had to push and jab at the surface to get product to release. I had to really press, pat, and pull at my skin to even out the product. Once on, it lasted well for eight hours on me before fading noticeably.

Miser
ColourPop Miser Pressed Powder Shadow ($4.50 for 0.05 oz.) is a muted, coral-orange base with flecks of blue-to-green shifting sparkle and shimmer. The eyeshadow yielded opaque color payoff that adhered well to bare skin with a smooth, even lay down of color. The texture was smooth to the touch, almost cream-like based on the slip, but it went on easily. It wore nicely for eight and a half hours before fading a bit.

Charge It
ColourPop Charge It Pressed Powder Shadow ($4.50 for 0.05 oz.) is a soft, medium-dark coral with strong, warm orange undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had good pigmentation in a single layer, which was buildable to full coverage with less than half of a layer on top. The texture was soft, a little dusty in the pan, and felt thinner than most of the brand’s mattes, but it applied evenly and blended out without any issues. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Miser (weird name!) is a beauty! I could see using this with my ND Sunrise Palette or with some of my favorite MAC neutral e/s singles like Tete-A-Tint and Brown Script.
Everything else above, I’ve got dupes for. That gorgeous teal makes me sad, though.
Miser is from Fortune and Trooper is from Good Sport. I think that some (many?) of these are reissues…probably popular shades from discontinued palettes. My makeup dementia is clearing! I think the condition is from ColourPop, for sure.
Yes, I agree with Nancy above – Miser is an awful name for such a beautiful shade, one of the standouts here. It’s too bad that the teal shade was so disappointing.
A beautifully designed eye look Christine, really striking.
