ColourPop Dream Sequence Super Shock Highlighter Palette Review & Swatches
Dream Sequence
ColourPop Dream Sequence Super Shock Highlighter Palette ($18.00 for 0.60 oz.) is a new, limited edition palette featuring two glittery highlighters and two more pearly highlighters. All four performed well with pigmentation that was as described (more opaque with fingertip application, more buildable with brushes), were easy to apply and blend out, and stayed on for a solid 10 hours. These shades can also be purchased individually (in pots).

Counting Sheep
Counting Sheep is a soft, golden beige with a glittering, metallic finish. This appeared more beige/gold in the pan but translated into a very bright, almost whitish-beige on my cheeks when applied. This was a very shiny shade and had noticeable glitter in its finish with a highly reflective sheen that emphasized my skin’s texture slightly. It had medium, buildable pigmentation–really true to the brand’s instructions with fingertips yielding more opaque coverage and brushes yielding more buildable coverage. The consistency was smooth, slightly wet to the touch, and blendable on my skin. It wore well for 10 hours on me.

Formula Overview
$10.00/0.15 oz. - $66.67 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "buildable" coverage and can be applied with fingertips (which will yield "higher coverage") or a brush (for sheerer coverage). It's a cream-based product that has a subtle, "wet" feel to it but never has the thickness of a true cream-based blush.
It goes on with the smoothness of a cream formulation but diffuses and blends (without lifting up one's base) more like a powder product. The product sets to a powder finish, so the product won't slide around during the day.
On me, the wear tends to be between eight and 10 hours. Most shades have medium, buildable pigmentation with some being semi-opaque to opaque on occasion. They are typically blendable, easy to use, and long-wearing.

Pinch Me
Pinch Me is a pale lavender with cool, pink-to-violet pearl. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation when applied with a fingertip and more sheer, buildable coverage when applied with a synthetic brush. The texture was lightly creamy and felt emollient, but it transformed to a thin, powder-like texture on my skin, which made it easy to apply and diffuse on bare skin or over base products. It lasted nicely for 10 hours on me.

Mr. Wind
Mr. Wind is a soft, pinky coral with warm undertones and a gold, glittery finish. It had good color coverage applied with fingertips and more semi-sheer to medium, buildable coverage when applied with a duo-fiber blush brush. The highlighter had a smooth, lightly creamy texture that was easy to pick up and apply to bare skin, as it blended out nicely along the edges with minimal effort. It wore well for 10 hours on me.

Are these more of the gel product in a non-sealing package? Still curious how that works out.
Guilty Pleasure has a wonderfully satin-y finish; great color too. My kind of highlighter.
They’re the same as the Super Shock Cheek products in the pots – they released them in a palette for the first time in September!
The language here- sold individually in pots, and SuperShock rather than pressed pigment- makes me think these will dry out quickly if they’re just covered with the cardboard lid of the palette. Am I reading that correctly?
This is the same Super Shock Cheek formula that is sold in the pots – it is a cream-based product. I would presume that ColourPop wouldn’t release it in this format if they dried out in a couple of months but don’t know what their longevity is relative to the pots. The one I have from September 2018 doesn’t feel like it’s dried out at all!
oh that’s interesting, that it’s not dried out yet! i wonder if they’ve tweaked their formula to keep it from shrinking and drying. although the highlighters always were a little more emollient than the eyeshadows, and had less shrinkage.
For Guilty Pleasure and Mr. Wind alone, I am buying this palette! Those 2 will get used up!
God this is gorgeous – I’ve ordered it already even though I need another highlighter palette like I need a hole in the head but this would also make a super Xmas present for my besties 😉 Maybe I should order another two…
It’s a fun one 🙂
This color story really reminds me of the ABH Gleam Glow Kit!
I really like all of these shades, but the one that impressed me the most was Mr. Wind.
Well, now I want this!
I am SUCH a sucker for the packaging on this ColourPop collection.
Do these have an expiration date on them? I don’t see one on any of the packaging.
I didn’t see any listed either!
